Customer Statements - Ageing (30, 60, 90days)
It would be great if we could add ageing on client/customer statements. (Current, 30, 60, 90 days) Many clients have requested that the ageing be displayed on their statements. Current, overdue and total isn't detailed enough..
Hi everybody, coming across from the previous forums we know this idea has a lot of interest.
There is a way of using Xero's reports to accomplish what you're asking here and save the format so you can easily access and send this report to your customers outside of Xero.
Running the Aged Receivables detail report you can choose how many ageing periods you'd like to show and set the period to '30 days'. Simply Filter the report by Contact and Update to run.
- Once you've got it set up, save as Custom so you can easily access this format anytime
- If you deal with groups of contacts this also means you could Filter for multiple contacts to combine the view into one report rather than multiple customer statements 🙂
- Export the report to PDF, where you can send to customers from your email system outside of Xero
We appreciate the one element missing is the ability to send from in Xero, but to be open and upfront we don't have direct plans for making this change within customer statements in the foreseeable future. Thanks

Why is this not included on the customer statement as standard?? Now we have to look at Statey App as an add on to achieve the very thing that should be included in XERO

@Sandra Tucker. It think so too, or maybe they just don't want to. Maybe more concerned on planning the next Xerocon?? Not sure. Just very dissapponted, not only on this features, but a couple of other features that accountants and users asked for that is considered standard. What ever the reason is, maybe 340+votes is not considered important as the other less voted (15+votes) that was implemeneted. I'm just tired of being frustrated....

I'd say that xero doesn't monitor this forum as I first thought since I made the suggestion mid last year. And I'm sure this has been suggested way be for I did. The fact that there is a 3rd party app that would solve our issues, they don't intend to make the changes. I believe we pay enough for the system as it is and should be a standard feature. But sadly I don't think they are listening to the users of their software.

I agree that this should be part of Xero. In the meantime, there is an app called "Statey" on the Xero App store that can do this for you. While you wait.

I agree Catherine Guiver, so many disappointments with XERO.... Customer/Supplier detailed ledgers, Statement Ageing, Date stamps on Reports missing.... all very basic features.

In support of the comment by Michelle D, I feel that there are many user suggestions on here, and Xero never seem to do anything about any of them. We thought this system would be a cloud based improvement on Sage, but it really isn't, and many of the features that we bought into turn out to be so low level as to be worthless. We're very disappointed.

We have been using xero for a couple of years now and still not game to send out statements as we get so many complaints whenever we. So I take 3 days, going through one by one and sending out. So much for "convenience"!! Trying to find out if I can separate into groups. We would like to send reminders at 30 days overdue, then at 45 days overdue, followed by every 7 days thereafter. Any clues???

I am seriously looking for another accounting package as we are receiving nothing from xero other than a very, very basic accounting package and we need so much more.
1. We need to allow our parts manager do inventory without seeing all our confidential reports - this is impossible with xero surely xero can separate the users better than this?????
2. We need a far more robust international exchange package it is dragging us backwards trying to use what xero offers. Having to send each invoice remittance separately Come On Xero lift your game!!! -

Xero Support - Hello is anyone there? Instead of Users making suggestions on how to fix or improve basic features - How about you actually do something Xero! I am certain your users are getting extremely frustrated, with the last of improvements & support on all topics.
I don't know about everyone else but we are seriously considering going back to MYOB -

Wow! I honestly just assumed this feature would be standard! Other statements I get it is standard and today I was sending the statement to my client, since they are supposed to pay monthly and they haven't and I noticed that there is not even a break down. Went to look to see if I was supposed to turn it on somewhere that I had missed! I guess now!

If you could also Filter it by Due Date or have the option not to show invoices that have future due dates, that would be great.

Honestly this shouldn't even be noted as an Idea...it is a key accounting feature and we have been asking for this since 2019 but nothing...its is now 2023 and time is spend on changing reports and adding useless features while a key feature like this is ignored.
I pay for Statey because my clients told me straight they will use someone else....its a pathetic app...it takes forever to sync... I have asked long enough...Exploring other accounting software options now... -

It is absurd that Xero does not include invoice ageing on the Customer statements - this is basic accounting functionality and is required by ALL Customers. Likewise we (business) require Suppliers to provide detailed Creditors Ageing on the monthly statements.
Xero appears to be completely disinterested in addressing this issue???
