  1. NZ Tax - Ability to change a tax payment letter to nil. This would be great if we could get the payment override box in the tax payments area to accept 0.00.

  2. When a client uploads receipts, bank statements or other items to Hubdoc via the app or sends them by email, it would be nice to be notified at the end of each day if something was added. The accounting program that our office uses emails general email when items are uploaded into our portal. This is to ensure nothing is missed or overlooked.

  3. We noticed last provisional tax letters that we sent out to clients had the date the amounts were approved.

    We usually approve before and e-mail/post letters closer to time.

    Is there a way the date can be changed on the Provisional tax letter to the day its getting e-mailed to client?

  4. When you have multiple companies using Xero and utilise the function to approve bills in Xero for audit tracking purposes you need a way to view the number of bills "Awaiting approval" in all of the companies in one place.

    It is very time consuming to open each company individually in order to confirm that there are bills that need approval.

  5. Ability to become an affiliate if not a BAS agent or tax agent.

    I am a chartered accountant with a finance coaching and Virtual CFO company but I am not a BAS or tax agent. I use Xero, train clients on Xero and recommend Xero to all of my clients and would recommend there was an affiliate scheme without having to be a BAS or tax agent.

    Hi Lucy, to make sure I understand your idea here. When you say an affiliate would that be an affiliate to make use of AU Tax as a product or more broadly the Partner Program that Xero has for Practice users ? 

  6. The mandatory notes section on FRS 105 needs upgrading, so that the notes on things like movement in directors loans, and operating lease commitments, can be completed by merely filling in numbers into a template matrix. At the moment, no tabular layout is possible.

  7. Ability to hide more sensitive data from staff.

    I have an employee who works overseas. Currently I think we can only hide the TFN details but it would be good to also be able to hide date of birth, address and now Director ID details.

    They do not need to see all of the sensitive data when preparing tax returns so it would be good to have some options of what data we can hide from employees.

  8. New Job Manager Budget % - base on $ not time.
    Please give us the option to set the budget % based on the fee not time.

    As our jobs are created though the Ignition integration, our fee budget $ is prefilled. We don't set the time budget as this would be a very manual process.

  9. It would be helpful if XPM could automatically select 'Split Provisional 50/50' for clients since the system already has the information from the IRD to do this. This would stop clients future provisional tax showing incorrectly on a current tax return and in tax payment reminders and would instead ensure the figures advised to pay agreed to the IRD's figures without us having to manually intervene.

  11. When changing organisations, it would be great to see more than five.

    Suggest you show them all so we can scroll until we find the one one want, not just rely on using the search to type in the name of the organisation, if it doesn't appear in the current list of five

  12. the function to search for clients needs to be easier (similar to the search function) when you are trying to run reports in XPM. It is tiring to go through 3,000 clients on a list to select the one I want to view as the function to run reports only allows me to type the first initial.
    It takes us almost 5-6mins to run a simple report

  15. It would be extremely helpful to be able to view and report on how much of the budget is left on a job.

    Reports in XPM focus on time rather than WIP and there are no standard reports that include job budgets. I want to be able to report on how much of the budget is left on a job without having to export to excel and run a formula.

    MYOB had a great Job Manager and you could view all jobs on one screen and see the budget and what budget left and if there was more WIP than…

  16. We are a firm of accountants and have a number of husband and wife landlord clients who own rental property jointly.

    Will one version of the software be able to split the rental figures and submit two MTD returns, or will they need their own version of the software each and have to manually halve the figures where the income is paid into one joint bank account?

    It would be so much easier if the software could automatically halve the figures and submit two MTD returns.

  17. The Pre-fill has capital losses noted in it, so it would be great if the pre-fill amount was reflected rather than relying on roll forward information. Seems to be commonly missed with new clients.

  19. The current livestock schedule in trust tax return (and probably others) is insufficient.

    We calculate livestock on Market Value in the Financials and inset these figures into the Tax Return, then use the Reconciliation area to bring it back to Average Cost.

    This worked perfectly fine in MYOB Tax, as we could overwrite the average cost calculation in the livestock trading schedule. However in Xero Tax we can't overwrite the closing stock value.

  20. In Xero HQ as a partner we have Report Templates which we can use for our clients. Currently, it only allows us to export to PDF or Excel or Google Sheets.

    It would be useful. helpful and beneficial for practitioners to be able to export it to WORD format so that we can re-format the font type, font size and header and footer styles..
