  1. Hubdoc date format recognition is set at a global level, meaning when it processes invoices for US date formats, it can get it very wrong (e.g. 01-09-23 is interpreted as 9th Jan 2023 when it should in fact be 1st Sep 2023).

    This makes automating the process impossible and requires manual checking and adjustment of the date on all US date format documents before submitting to Xero. It can also lead to mistakes and significant additional time to rectify errors when reconciling.

  3. Enable reporting / export for the 'Fee from Refund' field under Tax under the Tax and Company section in clients.

    The other fields in the ax and Company section are available in the Client & Contact Report Builder, however this field is overlooked. I understand that there is a 3rd party request to have this field included in the Client API.

  7. Have logged this support query, which I also raised a number of years ago and cannot believe how this has not been fixed. Answer from support below:

    In XPM there is no first and last name field for contacts, rather it is just one box for the Name field. While in Xero there are two fields to put a contacts first and last name separately.

    So when a contact on a client syncs from XPM into Xero it is placed into the Last Name field as it recognises the name as one field. Currently, the only way to resolve this…

  8. A common situation we have with our clients' live Xero files is that the client wants the Legal/Trading name and Display Name as their business name, but we want it as the actual entity name. E.g. we would like to see A & B Smith Family Trust as the entity name in financial statements, but the client wants all their other internal reports/invoices as their trading name, say Adam's Mechanical Services.
    We often find ourselves changing the name to what we require, publishing financials and then changing it back to keep the client happy.

  9. When uploading a set of annual accounts to Xero Sign, the only option available is to add a signature field.

    For company and trust annual accounts, we typically also include a minute and sometimes other resolutions (created from a Xero report pack). It would be great to able to insert a date field in the minute, like you can with other e-signing platforms.

    The current workaround is to use another e-signing service to send the annual accounts, and use Xero Sign for the tax returns - which adds confusion for our clients and we're often having to chase them up…

  10. Fixed Assets - Asset Serial Numbers Printing on Depr Schedule
    It would be helpful to have as a print option for the Depreciation Schedule the ability to print asset serial numbers. This is one of the few fields not current able to be selected.

    Application is transport Companies and Engineering Companies which have a high reliance on serial number identification.

  11. Change reply to email address:
    Any user can send tax letters, but the reply to email address can be set as one specific email (much like in blue xero)

    For example:
    staff1@accountingfirm.co.nz sends provisional tax reminders to clients, but when clients receive the tax reminder email, the reply to address is admin@accountingfirm.co.nz

    This same feature is already available in Blue Xero when sending invoices

  12. I am wanting to run a weekly report which lists any lodged returns that have been ticked as Final Returns in the return itself. This will then trigger a set of tasks to wind up the client (ie ASIC deregistrations etc).

  13. Xero workpaper would also show the actual file report and not just the links when exporting the workpaper. This is only available for files uploaded to the workpaper. Our practice uses FYI docs where all the relevant schedules, documents, and files are uploaded and we simply link it to Xero Workpapers. This is also helpful for practices who are using cloud storing services for documents and files.

  16. When adding invoices through HubDoc when there is a new contact that needs to be added, it would be great if the option to create a new contact (supplier or customer) was available in HubDoc, rather than having to start typing in the contact filed & then having to wait for HubDoc/Xero to catch up.

  17. It would be useful if a notification was sent when any document was uploaded. Currently, there are supplier level notifications but when there is something that has been uploaded (jpg, memo, etc) and the system is unable to identify it to a supplier it dumps it to the failed tab which at present does not create any notification.

  19. Document Packs when resent do not update the "History" in Xero Tax. This means that the most recent reminder in Xero Tax can actually be much more older than that from the Xero Document Pack

    Would be good to see the history in Xero tax use the dates from the reminders sent in the document pack instead of having to leave Xero tax to find out.
