  1. It would be wonderful if we could transfer interest, dividends, annual trust distribution information, and capital gains between a husband and wife (or partners etc) when the accounts are held 50/50 or 1/3 25% etc without having to re-enter the schedule into the other party's tax return.

    Link the partners together like it does with a rental schedule.

  2. I have moved to Xero Tax from Reckon Elite, but just realised that Xero Tax does not have a Notification of formation of consolidated group schedule.

    As a tax agent, it is crucial to have this schedule to update client's consolidation status, including updating joining/leaving subsidiaries.

    It would be great if this can be added as quickly as possible.

  3. Currently there is only the ability to enter 4 Directors names into the Report fields in 'Advanced accounting › Report fields and schedules'
    So when we run the advisor reports, on the Director Declaration's page we have to manually type in the extra directors.
    Can you increase the fields for more than 4 directors and even more than 4 partners.

    Thanks for engaging and sharing the idea here - Having a deeper read to interpret, there's the ability to add more client report fields that can be included in your report templates yourself (such as Director 5, Director 6 etc) - See detail in our help here.

    A couple of pointers to note, are;

    • ensure you have the Edit report templates permission, then
    • add the new client report fields at Xero HQ level first; this'll make them available to add in your Report templates. Then, add the names of the directors at the client level.

    We hope this helps you overcome the idea here, let us know if this doesn't quite accomplish what you're asking.

  4. This is to do with Custom Reports and should be little effort for a good result.

    I note that after discussions with Xero the [Tax Return AU] Not Started Returns field is only available in the Client Returns report. It would be great to have [Tax Return AU] Not Started Returns in the Tax Return report area so you could generate a report on which returns have been started, in addition to the current status of the ones that have been started (ie Draft, Complete, Lodged) at the moment we can only see if a tax return has been created…

  5. When uploading a set of annual accounts to Xero Sign, the only option available is to add a signature field.

    For company and trust annual accounts, we typically also include a minute and sometimes other resolutions (created from a Xero report pack). It would be great to able to insert a date field in the minute, like you can with other e-signing platforms.

    The current workaround is to use another e-signing service to send the annual accounts, and use Xero Sign for the tax returns - which adds confusion for our clients and we're often having to chase them up…

  8. Please can we have a simple Tax Return Status report that we can run by tax year (or other appropriate filters) that shows all the relevant fields that I can see on personal tax return screen.

    This way we would be able to run a report for a particular tax year and see who we still have to do by way of a control check. This would also be useful on the company tax and accounts side

  9. Current: Signatory name and email address for Document Packs are manually typed in (once per pack).

    Issue: Manual input is repetitive, error prone, and requires switching tabs.

    Request: These details usually exist in Xero HQ already, so I'd like to be able to select my signatory from this list.

    Potential future features enabled by this:
    When a signatory is selected this way, other signatories could be pre-populated in the one-click right-bar based on whether they've been in the same group of signatories in a previous Document Pack.
    History of Document Packs attributed to each Xero HQ record.

    Hello Trang, you can tag multiple documents at once by holding ctrl/cmd on your keyboard. Note that you'll need to create the tag first before you can do this - Read more on our article for more information. 

    Because Hubdoc can't bulk update the documents to be "Mark as paid" right now, I've changed the title of your idea, so we can see the interest from the community here :)

  11. Ability to copy a rental schedule to another tax return for a property shared 50/50 with the asset workpaper. Also ability to copy asset schedule to another rental schedule within the tax return.

    Hi everyone, we’d like to confirm that GST F5 for foreign currency ledger is not something we have plans to develop at this time. We’re still interested to get a clearer understanding of users that’d like to see this developed for Singapore tax, and will continue to track this through the conversation here.

    In the meantime, for those who aren’t already aware, in a Singapore organisation users can access the GST Audit report which shows the base currency, FX value and Singapore dollar value information you’ll need to meet IRAS requirements.

    As the GST Audit report doesn’t show the gains and losses needed for IRAS reporting, you can use the Foreign Currency Gains and Losses report to see this information.

Very disappointed to hear that you haven't considered how the new reporting standards for Tier 3 entities is going to effect the reporting templates i.e. the requirement to split grants into multiple sub-categories, which is only one area of the new reporting standards that needs to be expanded.
    Would you be able to make this a high priority for the product team and provide a reasonable timeframe as to when this will be considered for further development as obviously we need to meet our obligations and your reporting mapping is no longer going to make this easy for us given…

  14. When emailing receipts to Hubdoc, anything written in the email title or body should stay with the receipt. Currently, Hubdoc turns one email into 2 uploads. One upload is the email. One upload is the receipt. It is nearly impossible to know which email matches which receipt. The result is that important documentation is lost. For example, my clients often email a receipt to Hubdoc for meals and they write who was present at the meal and the business purpose into the email's title or body. Those details are required by the IRS but the current Hubdoc system does not…

  15. In other accounting management software, you can allocate WIP to a previously posted invoice. This is a really handy feature which prevents WIP being written off if a job has already been invoiced and no further invoices will be raised.
    It helps with budgeting and KPI's (preventing WIP writeoff).
    There are enough times when it has been needed, e.g. after a job has been completed and invoiced, and new information comes to light requiring a re-work.

  16. Similarly to iFirm, would be great to be able to make amendments to the return in Xero, mark it as an amendment, and then file from Xero rather than having to make the amendment in MyIR, then make the same amendment to the already filed tax return in Xero. Makes it harder to keep track of what has been done.

  17. Would like the ability to see Write-ons / Write-offs on the Invoices dashboard for Draft invoices to allow easier review of drafts.

    Alternatively some form of reporting that takes draft invoices into account vs billable time to see 'draft write-ons/offs'.

  18. Account number to be synced to XPM from Xero. This unique account number/code is very useful and would be great to be automatically synced. Further, if, just like in Xero, it is a set field in XPM that notifies you when you are duplicating a code that has already been used for another client.

  20. We've just found out to our horror that we lose access to ALL Xero historic accounts and tax filings prepared and submitted through Xero Tax for a client if the Xero sub is cancelled.
    Apparently this is because Xero needs to maintain access to the live data even for filed returns. Therefore, there has to be a process where ALL accounts and tax comps must be downloaded and stored elsewhere each year. We think that's crazy and that all filed returns should be stored in Xero Tax as PDFs. If nothing else, there should be a flag warning us! This…
