  1. In Xero Tax, you should be able to change the name format for all directors even if they've been appointed after the Accounts Year End. Currently if you've changed the name format for directors previously from 'SURNAME, Name' to 'Name Surname' when a new director is appointed post year end, they are brought into the company information page with 'SURNAME Name' format and there is no ability to change the format to 'Name Surname' to match the others so you then need to change the other directors to 'SURNAME Name' format to match.   2. For non-Xero clients, it would be very useful to be able to use workpapers and include the actual account balance from the Client's accounts, rather than displaying the Xero account balance as nil. As a practice, we use Xero workpapers, but not every single client uses Xero.

  3. It would be wonderful if we could transfer interest, dividends, annual trust distribution information, and capital gains between a husband and wife (or partners etc) when the accounts are held 50/50 or 1/3 25% etc without having to re-enter the schedule into the other party's tax return.

    Link the partners together like it does with a rental schedule.

  4. The ability to view/ create Reoccurring jobs within the individual Client. at the moment its a very different setup to create Reoccurring jobs.
    Additionally the ability to convert a single job to a reoccurring job. Will make creating jobs much easier.

  5. A common situation we have with our clients' live Xero files is that the client wants the Legal/Trading name and Display Name as their business name, but we want it as the actual entity name. E.g. we would like to see A & B Smith Family Trust as the entity name in financial statements, but the client wants all their other internal reports/invoices as their trading name, say Adam's Mechanical Services.
    We often find ourselves changing the name to what we require, publishing financials and then changing it back to keep the client happy.

  6. Please can we have a simple Tax Return Status report that we can run by tax year (or other appropriate filters) that shows all the relevant fields that I can see on personal tax return screen.

    This way we would be able to run a report for a particular tax year and see who we still have to do by way of a control check. This would also be useful on the company tax and accounts side

  7. Currently, there’s no functionality in Xero Practice Manager to edit job names in bulk. This would be an extremely useful function for us. For example, we have a large number of Client Services jobs which need updating and without a bulk update function we need to do this manually, job by job which takes far too long.

    Hi team, we appreciate your input to product ideas. While we don't have plans for bulk update of Job names right now, I wanted to share some work we've recently released for other bulk actions.

    You can now update the Priority, State, Start date, Due date, Staff, Manager or Partner for multiple jobs at once. Select the jobs from the Job Manager page, click 'Bulk actions' and choose the action you'd like to make.

  9. There used to be a tab where we could check which of our clients hadn't filed their GST returns on time, this has been removed, can you please bring it back as we now have no way of checking if we or our clients have missed filing a return.

    Thanks for sharing and supporting in this idea, everyone. Right now, developing GST F5 for foreign currency in Singapore isn't in our roadmap.

    Currently, Singapore organisations can access the GST Audit report that shows the base currency, FX value and Singapore dollar value information you’ll need to meet IRAS requirements.

    You can also use the Foreign Currency Gains and Losses report to show the gains and losses needed for IRAS reporting.

    We'll continue to get a sense of the interest in this idea, and if there are any changes will share news with you here.

  11. It would be good if any report you can already run in Xero could be added to a report template - this would include GST reports (activity statement and GST reconciliation), payroll reports etc. That way instead of having to manually extract each of these reports for each client we can just do it in bulk through one report template.

  12. It would be really useful to be able to log into more than one company on an reference basis only. I'm often in the middle of something when I am asked a question relating to another company by a colleague or client. I have to log out just to find one bit of information. I might have multiple windows open with different reports etc that I then lose. This is also very important when working on related companies to see intercompany loans in both companies at once.     Hi Cath, when you say you have to log out and then into the other org, are you using 2 separate Xero account logins?

    Appreciate not the ideal solution but you could use incognito mode atm, to open the organisation you need to reference?

    When completing Deceased Estate returns in Xero Tax, it seems as per the screenshot provided the newly added estimates does not calculate the Super Lump Sum Tax Offset given the complexity and nature of the Lump Sums.

    Is there a way to have Xero Tax calculate the estimate with the Super Lump Sum Tax Offset taken into consideration as it has been in the past on MYOB? This way we can obtain a more accurate estimate of the tax payable for the Trustee.

Similarly to iFirm, would be great to be able to make amendments to the return in Xero, mark it as an amendment, and then file from Xero rather than having to make the amendment in MyIR, then make the same amendment to the already filed tax return in Xero. Makes it harder to keep track of what has been done.

  16. A quick link from this years (active) workpaper pack to last years (archived) workpaper pack for this client would be so useful and save so much time. Accessing prior year (archived) workpapers is such a 🥴 workflow at present.

    Ideally this would be available on the Workpapers page (where you can see all workpapers) and take you to the same for last year, and it would be available on every individual workpaper page (and take you to that same page for last year).

  17. Currently when producing and filing (lodging) a CURNN is does not display the Financial Year it relates to. It would be very helpful to have the FY displayed so it is easily identifiable. The same as all the other Tax Returns.

  18. I am finding the inconsistent implementation of the new Xero style mixed in with the old incredibly frustrating. The new style screens are slow to load & enter data, the tabbing and typing a few letters then hitting return either doesn't work (add payment) or is inconsistent between screens, entering a new customer on the fly is frustrating because you can't enter all the information at once & still have to open the full contact edit screen to complete it, also the new contact pop up doesn't autopopulate addresses as you type, the send remittance button disappears if you get…

    Hi everyone, sorry we've not responded here sooner. As we upgrade technology we are mindful of the impact this can have for our customers. We understand changing features and learning new flows and the ways of performing some actions can be a big transition for customers.

    In particular, as mentioned in your feedback here with new invoicing. To support as much as possible during this time, we're providing lots of information through means of blogs, education and guides on Xero Central.

    We're also continuing to iterate and develop new features into new invoicing that we know our customers want.

  20. Would be great to create a report in XPM that shows client bank details so we can identify clients that are missing bank details and need to be followed up. This would also avoid the issue with tax returns being lodged with no bank details recorded.
