  1. It would be helpful if XPM could automatically select 'Split Provisional 50/50' for clients since the system already has the information from the IRD to do this. This would stop clients future provisional tax showing incorrectly on a current tax return and in tax payment reminders and would instead ensure the figures advised to pay agreed to the IRD's figures without us having to manually intervene.

  2. We are a firm of accountants and have a number of husband and wife landlord clients who own rental property jointly.

    Will one version of the software be able to split the rental figures and submit two MTD returns, or will they need their own version of the software each and have to manually halve the figures where the income is paid into one joint bank account?

    It would be so much easier if the software could automatically halve the figures and submit two MTD returns.

  3. When a client uploads or emails a file to the Xero files area of their own subscription, it would be helpful if we, as their accountants, could receive a notification to let us know there is a file waiting for us.
    This should be an optional setting, perhaps even with limits (eg notify me for every 5 files uploaded).

  5. Xero Practice Manager - Tax

    I want to be able to run two reports to see which staff have tax access to which clients and to see to which clients a staff member has tax access. This is very important for security purposes and additionally to help us meet our obligations as tax agents.

  6. Xero Sign - It would be great if there was an indicator to let us know that one or more clients within the one document pack have signed the documents. (if it is sent to multiple people) We only get notified once everyone signed.

  7. It would be great to be able to customise if the fields are mandatory or not for new client setups. This would allow us to ensure that the fields we need setup are being setup by the admin team.

    Hi everyone, while this is something our team began looking into, unfortunately this has been put down with other more immediate work taking priority.

    Hopefully they will be able to pick this back up down the track, but we'll move back to Submitted for now and continue tracking the interest here. I'll let you know if there are any more changes.

  9. An easier way to schedule tasks. A lot of my clients create annual jobs with lots of tasks and want to be able to schedule tasks in the same way you can allocate staff. You hit a button and schedule all the tasks in a list with assignable start and due dates. I have more than 40 clients that I am doing implementation and training and XPM support for, and all of them has asked me for an easier way to do task scheduling.

  10. Xero should be having a feature Statistical GL where one can enter statistical information or numbers which are vital for analyzing business trends.
    For example, If I am maintaining books of a restaurant and I want to record daily covers (footfall or number of customers) which can help me analyze revenue per cover, spend etc.
    There should an option to create some designated ledgers to input and maintain these statistical information which does not affect any financial statements but can be used for business performance analysis.

When adding invoices through HubDoc when there is a new contact that needs to be added, it would be great if the option to create a new contact (supplier or customer) was available in HubDoc, rather than having to start typing in the contact filed & then having to wait for HubDoc/Xero to catch up.

  12. Being about to print multiple Tax Returns by selecting the box in Returns and having a print options, it would be amazing if you could also select to redact Tax file numbers or choose to print them.
    At the moment I need to print 17 today, I have to go into each individual client and select the tax return, select to print etc. It would save a lot of time being able to print multiples

  14. Removal of 'completed' jobs from the job list when preparing an invoice in XPM.

    Sometimes we invoice a parent client with multiple entities jobs appearing and this can be very hard to navigate when looking for current jobs to invoice - even if the status is marked to be invoiced. It would be more efficient if completed jobs just didn't appear in the list.

  15. It would be really helpful if invoice templates could adjust automatically based on client type, instead of having to create and assign multiple templates manually.

    For example:
    1. Individuals and Partnerships would include the 'Attention' field, but not include the 'Contact Name' field
    2. Company invoices would include the 'Attention' field, but not the 'Contact Name' field
    3. Trusts, SMSFs, and Charities would include both the 'Attention' field and the 'Contact Name' field

    This would save time, reduce errors, and ensure invoices are always addressing the legal entity correctly for each client type.

    Hi everyone, thanks for raising this idea. We know rental income and expenses are a key part of tax for many businesses, and it would be super helpful to have a rental property schedule within the Company Tax Return (CTR) in Xero Tax.

    At the moment, there aren’t any rental worksheets for companies in Xero Tax, because the ATO doesn’t accept rental schedules on a CTR through PLS. That means this part of the return needs to be managed outside the system — which we understand isn’t ideal.

    That said, we can see this idea is already getting some traction, and it's now in the Gaining Support stage. If this would improve your workflow, feel free to vote or add a comment. It really helps the team understand what matters most to you.


  17. In the new staff experience, it's only possible to assign staff members the Advisor or None role for a Xero organisation. It would be good to have blue Xero organisation roles available to select so to give my staff the correct permission from within practice tools (HQ/XPM)

    The status of this idea has been updated to Gaining Support. Being able to assign a wider range of user permissions within the practice tools interface could make managing staff roles more flexible and centralised.

    This idea is gaining traction quickly, which shows it’s something many in the community would find valuable.

    Hi everyone, thank you for contributing to this idea. We understand how useful it would be to filter the Insights dashboard by client groups in Xero HQ. Right now, you can filter the main Clients list by custom groups, but the Insights dashboard doesn’t support this filter just yet.

    The exciting news is that we’re currently working on the Xero Partner Hub, which includes exploring ways to enhance reporting and insights tools. You can find out more about what’s coming on our Blog.

  19. When each job is created, we manually have to add the contact to the job. If this is not done, the invoice that is pushed to Xero Blue doesn't have contact information and we are unable to utilise the automatic reminders etc. This requires manual monitoring and negates the efficiencies within Xero Blue.

    This manual process would be solved if we had the ability to set the Primary Contact as the default contact on jobs that are created. This could for example, be set up as a tick box in settings. This could give people the option to switch on…

  20. Please add ability to reorder accounts (lines) on a workpaper in Xero Workpaper. This is painful both for automatically populating workpapers (which go in the impractical alphabetical order) and custom workpapers (where every new line is added at the bottom...).
