  1. It would be great if we could have the option of a display name as legal name for all entity types and not just individuals to help differentiate different entities with the same name. For example, we have a few trusts that share the same name but are completely separate entities belonging to different client groups and it can make it hard to tell those apart at a glance.

Xero tax software needs to be amended so that a provisional tax payment requested based on the previous year plus 10% shows up as the first installment of provisional tax due in the xero tax return even though the client hasn't made the payment but is required to have paid by the 1st provisional tax date. At present shows as 0.00 which is incorrect based on the inland revenue rules. So at present have to copy the tax return to a pdf export to word and then manually amended the tax return to show the correct tax payment that was…

  4. Once the file is uploaded to Hubdoc, it effectively becomes a JPEG once at the review screen, this means you can not copy paste or grab contents from within the document and you will have to either open up the PDF on a separate screen or edit it within Xero.

    It would be great if the description could also be extracted - OR allow the document to be copied/stay a PDF to be able to copy. This will reduce human errors when entering data. Thank you.

  5. When will we have an option to update all client emails/phone numbers at the same time?
    It would be really helpful if the system would search for all 'same' emails or phone numbers and allow for these all to be updated/amended.

  6. To have a column in the return screen that shows the detail of the tax return (e.g. estimated tax payable / refundable and / or the Taxable Income amount).

    Purpose: To make the accountant easily review the tax summary returned.

  7. Instead of using spreadsheets, it would be very handy for Xero to have prepayment & accruals schedules built-in that act similar to the Fixed Asset function.

    For example, when you allocated a new invoice to the prepayment nominal, Xero would detect that transaction and add it to the schedule. At the end of the month, you access the Prepayment & Accruals screen, go to drafts, and fill out a form giving it the period with su[plier, start date, end date and number of days/weeks/months it lasts (this would determine how often a journal is created when ran).   8. Make a schedule for allocating partner income and tax credits allocations with a total giving the ability to allocate income on the one page. Currently you have to go into each partner schedule. There is not always an even split of income and with many partner entities it is very time consuming.

  10. When I use Xero tax it pre-populates the tax agent number overriding the previous entry in the previous year. We want this to be the client phone number due to we want the ATO to contact them.

    Every tax return it is taking manual labour to change the phone number from the pre-populated phone number.

    We'd like the option to pre-populate the client phone number like other client information.

    We'd prefer to not have to delete any details to replace the phone number and this was resulting in tax return error.

  11. It would be great if we could have the ability to apply multiple relationships to a single entity at once, perhaps as a multiple checkboxes. So for example, when setting up a company, we might have one person who is the Director, Secretary, Public Officer and Shareholder but at the moment we need to add these in one at a time.

  15. I love the function of being able to import data from a Xero file/ledger directly into a Xero tax.

    However, it seems that you can only import date to 30 June. It doesn't appear to be able to import for a substituted accounting period.

    It would be helpful to be able to select the period to import.

  16. We want to be able to report on any clients with outstanding balances at any point in time, and be able to action it before the ATO start calling us or the client to chase the debt.
    There is already a report on the ATO Portal – See attached screen shot. The report contains any AS’s that are overdue and also shows any clients debt/credit they may have on the ICA.

  18. Needed: an option button in Xero Tax which switches the Accounts between FRS 102 and FRS 105.

    The majority of our Clients only require FRS105 Accounts to be submitted to Companies House but they all ask for FRS 102 Accounts to provide to their Bank or for applying for mortgages etc.

    We also want them to sign FRS102 Accounts since they have much more disclosure and if Clients simply see the FRS105 version of Accounts, they question the fee we charge them for such a small output (not realising the amount of work behind preparing them).

  19. Currently Hubdoc only flags an invoice as a duplicate if the supplier, invoice date AND invoice amount exactly match. This means if any of these are adjusted or Hubdoc doesn't pick up the exact correct details, the invoice wouldn't be flagged as a duplicate and could be double booked or worse double paid.

    Hubdoc should flag an invoice as a duplicate if the invoice number is the same too. Yes there are rare scenarios where two suppliers issue an invoice such as '001', but it's much better for this to be flagged as a duplicate and reviewed, than actual duplicate…

  20. When preparing future year return, in my case, FY2025 tax return for one individual client, even though it shows 2025 tax year, Xero tax is actually FY2024 tax rate for calculation. So the result is not accurate. Will Xero Tax fix this issue in the future?
