Homepage - More Flexibility in Widget Placement
It would be great to be able to place the widgets wherever you want (like before). I would prefer to have all my bank accounts in a column, as opposed to having to have them horizontal
Hi everyone, thanks again for sharing input on widget placement on the homepage.
As mentioned in our last update, once you Edit Homepage and Save the layout this will be saved for that screen size. If you change screens a prompt is also surfaced to explain that you may want to reset and save your layout.
While we don’t have plans to allow vertical stacking at this stage, we're improving the edit experience. This will make it easier to see how changing a widget's position shifts other items on your screen. I’ll let you know as soon as this is released.

I really dislike the new home page.
I would like to be able to re-size all widgets to get it how I would like it.
In the invoiced widget, I much preferred this in the old homepage where Drafts, Awaiting Payment and Overdue were stacked one under the other so I could see all this information together. Now drafts had been moved to the bottom of the widget.
All the homepage information now seems harder to see and read with the new layout. I really can’t see any benefit in the new homepage, just a step backwards, and I fail to understand why it needed to be changed. I would like the option to permanently use the old homepage. -

This is beyond frustrating. Finally get a couple widgets where you want them, move on more and they all shuffle around again......
Vertical stacking works for my brain!
Cant we have blank spaces where we want them as well, I don't need all my information crammed together. -

When arranging the dashboard allow for widgets to be pinned to a spot, often having to move and move back and move again when rearranging its time consuming and frustrating.
Liking the new look

And once you've got them all in the best possible organisation in the new view, you switch to your laptop with the smaller screen, and now everything is somewhere else and it's unusable again!
I've saved my layout! It still does it! Every time! In every single client!

Just reiterating, until you allow vertical stacking, please don't take away the 'Switch to old' option. It says you're going to do this on the 2nd March. Please reconsider.

I don't think this is the wish of any user, you could make this so much easier if you allowed blank spaces in between widgets, but no, cram it all together.

The new homepage is one of the MOST ANNOYING changes Xero has ever provided. I have spent hours trying to reorganise the widgets to suit my needs (basically back to how it was before) and remove all the clutter; however, when I move a widget, it automatically resorts all the other widgets, including the ones I have already moved. It is IMPOSSIBLE to make it 'customised' to how I want to see the homepage. I cannot understand why this wasted 'progress' was even needed - surely it would be better to spend time on things like:
Providing a proper audit trail for timesheets, wages etc
Integrating the Payroll properly into the system so reports can be published
Making sure buttons are positioned consistently (either on the right or left) throughout the program
What a waste of time and money! -

Vertical centric rather than horizontal centric layout preference needs to be possible.
I want to be able to see my accounts down the left hand side of the screen rather than across the top. Then I want to be able to distribute the other widgets to the right of these. With the current 'Edit Homepage' functionality, this is impossible.
The moving of widgets generally is very difficult to do, to get the desired layout. Very poor from the user experience perspective.

Have the bank account widgets be able to sit under each other as you can get 2 bank account widgets in the same space as the "Invoices owed to you" and "Bills to pay"

Currently, the widgets are arranged in a left to right, top to bottom grid with all earlier spaces needing to be filled.
I think it would be much better if we could customise the layout so that we may have for example, 3 columns but each one could be a different length rather than at the moment they would all either be the same length or 1 widget difference maximum but we don't really have any control over it -

Also, with Homepage can we have the option to move the summaries ie bills to pay, Tasks & invoices owed not be on the same line as banks?
