Dashboard - Add the ability to group widgets together
With many accounts on the homepage (for example multiple currency accounts), it would be great to be able to drop the widgets into a group. Almost like the iPhones home screen. The difference would be that I could have the ability to resize the group to display the widgets in the group so they could be seen all at one (if desired). e.g. A collapsable view. e.g. All my EUR accounts grouped together.
Rather than making the group resizable to any size, it would be limited to a 3x1 or a 1x3 arrangement, Or some other practical variation
4 votesHi everyone, it makes a lot of sense to want a cleaner way to organise dashboard widgets. When related items like bank accounts or invoice summaries are grouped together, it’s easier to find what you need without much scrolling..
For now, you can use the Edit dashboard button at the bottom of the page to reorder widgets—move your most-used ones to the top and hide the rest.
This idea is now Gaining Support, so we can see how many others would like more control over dashboard layout. We’d love to hear how you’d group your widgets—keep the votes and comments coming!

Dashboard - Files Widget to allow drag and drop
A widget for the Files section that you can drag/drop into without having to click top left, then Files.

Option for a condensed/compact view with less white space
There's a lot of white space on the page. Can things be condensed more please?
4 votesHi Michelle, We'd love to get a bit more detail from you all to help our product teams. Xero covers a lot of areas, and “less white space” can mean different things on the Dashboard, the Invoicing screen, or the Reports center.
If you could comment below with the specific pages where a more compact view would make the biggest difference for your business, it would not only help us shape a clear proposal but also help other users understand the idea and give it traction in the community!

Dashboard - Ability to set default dashboard for all users within the organisation
When customising the homepage view, it would be helpful to have the option to set that customised layout as the default view for all users.
This would make sure everyone logging into the file sees the same key information and widgets to keep everyone aligned
3 votesThanks for sharing this here. Currently the reason for this functionality to not exist is because the home page for all users may not appear the same. In particular, the users with the same permission roles will get the same view.

Move modules downwards, rather than forcing to fill across first
The new homepage doesn't allow you to drag and drop modules into any order/position - it forces you to fill the screen left to right. Previously I could have our the bank account details (and their $ totals) in a lower position that was visible only by scrolling down. Now it is always there, and also visible to anyone else near my screen. This new layout won't let me move it down/away unless I put in other (unnecessary) modules to fill that gap, which would then force the bank details into the spot where I'd like to have it.

Provide a widget where you can drop any bill, expense or invoice, right on the homepage for Xero to analyse.

I would absolutely love to see a widget where you can write a checklist for daily tasks. I'm forever writing things down and would benefit from having this available on the Dashboard homepage. One with checkboxes to tick when the task is done. The ability to break this down into daily and weekly sections would be even better!

Cash in and Cash out
Allow 2 categories of Cash Out since i am a sole trader and my drawings are included in cash out so the widget is useless if i cant either exclude drawings or split cash out between Busienss Cash Out and Owner Drawings Cash out. Just keep the Cash out bar but split into two colours so that you can see Cash out Business and Cash out Drawings.

The new layout is harder to follow multiple back accounts and its says "reconciled" when you have items to reconcile which is also confusing
The new layout is harder to follow multiple bank accounts and its says "reconciled" when you still have items to reconcile which is confusing. You need to look for the green reconcile button and ignore the word reconciled.

Homepage | Bills Awaiting payment - Filter out expense claims
Filter out expense claims from Bills Awaiting Payment
I input my own money occasionally into the business & don't require paying back, so the expense claim is left "open" & shows up on Bills awaiting payment - thus confusing the amount owing to Bills I have outstanding.

Create a "low bandwidth" version this is now so much slower than the old page on slow internet connections 271 resource requests is just stupid for a home page and 1=nearly 50mb of resources? not everyone has fiber to the building and a 250mb/s connection.

HubDoc
It would be useful, if there was an option to put a HubDoc widget/button on the home screen, as now it is accessible with 2-3 mouse clicks. I use it daily with my clients and easier access would be beneficial.

Mirror the profit and loss widget in the app
Like others, I think the options listed for profit and loss on the hompage are too restrictive. The app has better options. I want to know where I stand financially including upcoming payments (to distribute profits) so I tend to use the "Finincial year" P&L rather than "year to date". The app has this but the homepage doesn't.

Default user settings.
I understand that every user can set their own settings in each file. If you assume that most users only access one or two different Xero files, having a default option is not necessary however I access scores of Xero files regularly and need to adjust the Homepage for each to get rid of the fodder and advertising so I can do my job efficiently. If we could "set as default" for a user, then edit that only for specific files, this process would be a lot faster. Possibly this could be an option in Xero HQ? Or integrated with…

Homepage - Show bank feed refresh/loading status
When refreshing the bank feed we used to get a "loading" type of notification on the old layout on the homepage when it was actively refreshing. Now nothing seems to be showing but when I switch back to the old layout I can see that it's "loading" (or if I click on the bank itself).
It's helpful to know if the feeds is "thinking" or not so I don't prematurely bug the client to fix on their end. And an overview of all the accounts that are loading is nice instead of having to click on each one. Thanks!
3 votesHi everyone, it does sound like a bank feed status indicator would be a really helpful addition, giving you a quick sense of whether your imported statement lines are fully up-to-date or still processing.
We understand how important it is to have that confirmation—without a clear visual cue, it can be hard to tell if the feed is still loading, has completed, or if something has gone wrong. Knowing the current status at a glance helps you trust the numbers and act quickly if there’s an issue.
As such, we've moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can track interest in making bank feed status more visible on the homepage. It would be great to hear from the community and understand how this could make a difference for everyday workflows.

Homepage - Compact table-view widget for bank accounts
Please add a widget on the homepage that displays the bank accounts in a simple table format, including the account name, balance, and transactions that need reconciliation.
Overall, the new layout takes up too much space, making it difficult to fit essential information on a screen.
A more compact view without unnecessary elements would be appreciated.
And also the optin to disable popup adverts!

We can see why this would be helpful for businesses managing multiple accounts. The current widget layout can take up a lot of space, and a condensed list would give you all-in-one visibility, letting you see balances at a glance.
For now, you can use the Edit dashboard button to hide accounts you don’t check daily, or use the Bank Accounts screen (under Accounting) as a more condensed “second dashboard.”
We’ve updated this idea to Gaining Support, so it’s now open for votes and comments. Your input helps us understand how compact a new view would need to be!

Making the watchlist more customisable. Would love to colour code based on under budget, approaching budget, over budget for easy management of spending.

Homepage - Inventory widget that shows when stock is low
Have the graph for the home screen with the inventory stock and flagging items with low stock.
