  1. Add Payments Screen on Invoicing
    We are still having to use mouse to enter the BANK ACCOUNT details. You can tab to the BANK ACCOUNT, but once there you have to USE MOUSE to enter bank account. We still have the whole chart of accounts listed in this field, Kelly has said this was fixed so I have lodged a case for that, but still not able to just tab and type enabled.

    Hey Jacqueline, we appreciate you raising this as an Idea, however the functionality of tabbing through the different accounts you can use as payments accounts is not in the Pipeline. The option to search for the desired account is available as the field is a down arrow select option. The tabbing option is to just get you to the next field. You can, however, hit the space bar to open the selection and then you can start typing or use the up/down arrows on the keyboard to navigate the options.

  2. When using the mobile app, currently once an invoice has been completed and emailed, it says "unpaid invoice" in a blue banner at the top. It is sometimes difficult to notice the little popup which says "invoice sent" at the bottom, and this could lead to the invoice being sent again.

    Changing the color of the banner at the top (i.e. to green) would be a nice visual indicator the email has already been sent.

    Hi Brandi, thanks for sharing this idea. We can see how a color-coded banner could make it easier to manage on the mobile app. We have moved this idea to Gaining Support, which means the Xero community can now vote and comment to show their interest. If this is something your peers would like to see as well, we'd love for you to share this with them and welcome others to join the conversation and add their support.   3. It'd be useful to have the ability to paginate from the top of the Sales Invoice list screen to avoid having to scroll down the page.

  4. Description / Pain Points:

    1. Refunds: Manual credit notes are required for Shopify order refunds, which is time-consuming and error-prone for high-volume merchants.

    2. Taxes: Xero only supports reporting for one region. Duties and taxes from other regions must be tracked manually, causing discrepancies and extra work.

    Suggested Improvement:
    - Auto-generate credit notes for refunds.
    - Support multi-region tax reporting to match Shopify calculations.

    Hi Sherry, thanks for sharing this idea with us. We've noticed that there are 2 ideas in here. We've found one similar to the Multi-region tax here, so we've added your vote to it. As support shared, Xero won't automatically create credit notes for refund via the Shopify integration, so we'll keep an eye on the support your idea gets here.

  5. Xero does not alert you if a customer has a credit that could be applied during batch approval of invoices.

    We batch approve and batch email all our invoices; it it is frustrating that we are sending out invoices without credits being applied.

    Surely this would be easy to implement?

  6. AutoPay reporting - Xero needs a report that will show all the customer paying by AutoPay or show the percentage of invoices setup with AutoPay or even just have AutoPay Active/AutoPay offered in a separate column on the list of repeating invoices so we could sort by that information to determine how many of our customers are using AutoPay.

  7. Option to have pre-loaded descriptions for specific customers when creating a quote. The description should automatically be present when each customer is selected rather than having to select a code to load it.

  8. When emailing invoices with attachments, it would be helpful if we could view attachments, just as a double check.
    At the email stage, we can preview the email and invoice prior to sending, but not the attachment.

  9. In app version, when we click omn Quotes then we see 2 options to choose- numer of quotes sent & number of quotes to invoice.
    When we click on number of quotes to invoice then we see all the quotes converted to invoice. But they appear as increasing order means oldest quote on top, we should have option to change the order i.e newest quote on top.

  10. The way an invoice displays on an invoice it so very different to how it appears on the Receivable Invoice Detail report - it is ridiculously different (and in many cases, unreadable).

    Can Xero please honour the spacing entered in invoices (for a reason) on the Receivable Invoice Detail Report.

    Not really understanding why this wouldn't automatically be the case.

    Thank you for your idea. While we appreciate the suggestion, we've decided not to add this feature to our current plans. For users with a large number of invoices, the report would be too big to be useful. This would really only be a good option for users with a small number of invoices.

    If you'd like to achieve this, you could consider using add-ons.

  11. Currently it is possible to change the branding applied to invoices even after they are paid. It is not possible to do the same for a credit note which means that if there is a change in corporate branding that any credit notes that have been posted need to be recreated to be able to make the change. This should not be so difficult.

  12. Hi Xero Team,

    I’d love to suggest a feature that would really improve efficiency when invoicing clients with recurring or frequent billing.

    In QuickBooks, when selecting a contact on an invoice, it would show a quick reference of that client’s last 5 invoice amounts. This helped a lot with ensuring consistency in recurring invoices, especially when amounts vary slightly month-to-month.

    In Xero, the “Add Last Item” toggle doesn’t quite solve this, since many clients have more than one invoice per month — so it may not reflect the most relevant or recent invoice for the context.

    It would be amazing…

  13. Invoice Settings - Branding Themes - Prepayment title

    Why can't we alter what shows on a prepayment? We have several customers who mistakenly pay us twice for invoices, this is made worse when we send them the prepayments (of the double payments) which say "Tax Invoice" suggesting this is money owing to us. Why can't we change the title to "Credit Note" or similar, so that our customers know that they've overpaid without us needing to manually contact each customer.
    It should be a fairly easy fix, seeing that most types of invoices, quotes, drafts, etc have the ability to…

  14. while generating the quotation, we would like our company details to appear on the continuation pages as well. Currently, only the UEN number is being displayed. Additionally, we would like to include page numbers for easier reference by our customers.

    Hi 👋 , just to get a better sense of what you'e asking here. It sounds the Quotes you create may be quite large and span multiple pages - Are you asking for the ability to enter a custom header that would appear across each page of your quote?

  15. It would be great to have the ability that Xero gives you a warning when an item line in Invoicing has a $0.00 in the unit price before been approved.
    We have had clients that missed completing the price and then the Invoices are sent out.
    It would be handy if they got a reminder that this is $0.

  16. When entering a number of invoices for the same customer or vendor it would be great not having to reenter the name for each entry. Recommend the ability to "pin" a name for multiple entries under the same name.

    NB. We need to keep ideas for the different areas of Xero separate. If you'd also like to see this feature when adding supplier bills, we'd need you to raise a separate Product Idea for it, so the community can also vote for that to support it.

  17. Hi,
    My business often delivers the same or similar services to repeat customers. It would be useful if Xero could default the contact address based on GPS Location, and then even propose default invoice items and pricing to make the invoicing process easier. This reduces the risk of invoicing mistakes and adds efficiency into the process for invoice creation. Also helps with contact payment process improvement.

    Hey Nathan, thanks for sharing this idea. Using GPS to automatically fill in a contact’s address would save you time and make invoicing on the go much smoother.

    It’s a smart way to reduce manual entry and help keep addresses accurate.

    This feature is now in Gaining Support. If you think it’d be useful, please add your vote or comment. Hearing from all of you helps our product team understand what matters most.

  18. A number of users mistakenly post lines on their sales invoices to expense nominal codes, for example when recharging their mileage to a customer they credit this to Motor Vehicle Expenses instead of using their correct Sales account code.

    Most other accounts/bookkeeping packages prevent this by default by only allowing sales invoices to be posted to sales nominal codes. Xero however allows sales to go to virtually any nominal account of the user's choosing, leading to this error cropping up quite often.

    Could we have a way to restrict sales invoices only being posted to sales nominal account codes?

  19. In February this year, all suplier invoices that were supposed to be marked 30 days, got moved to due in March and not end Feb due to the 28 days, This needs to be changed as an exception as there will never be 30 days in Feb.

  20. In Invoice preview for a non- taxable line item there is a tax rate on the line item. At the bottom where tax is calculated the total tax is correct (it does not include tax on the non-taxable item). It is confusing for a client looking at the invoice, they may think they are being taxed on the non-taxable item. Can invoice preview show 0% tax on the non-taxable item and the correct tax % on the taxable item.

    Hi Larina, thanks for raising this point about invoice clarity. We agree that it's really important for customer-facing documents to be as clear and easy to understand as possible to avoid any confusion.
