Invoices: Generate journal entry for fully discounted invoices
Currently you can add a discount of any amount including 100% on an invoice. However if you have a 100% discount the nominal ledger account doesn't save - so you can't report on it. We would like to know all subsidies across all courses but can't currently do this as if we have a fully funded course the NL code won't save so is left blank.

Sales Invoice - Collate lines of a single invoice when exporting
When exporting invoices if an invoice has multiple lines in Xero it also appears with multiple lines on the exported Excel.
Can we have some way to collate the invoice lines onto one line on the excel?
Currently when exporting a bulk amount of invoices we have to manually combine lines on the spreadsheet for the same invoice. This can take a lot of time and often lead to mistakes as manual calculation is needed to get the correct invoice amount.

We don't have any plans for changing the format of the export right now, however it sounds like this is a common action for you, and it'd be good to better understand the use case that we can share with the team.

Sales Invoice - Auto save draft email when sending
When amending the email which is sent when sending an invoice, I sometimes accidentally touch the screen, causing the screen to swipe down, losing the message. If you swipe down on the email, could this not be saved as a draft with the draft invoice, so I don’t have to start again?
2 votesUnderstand the nuance, Jason. Do you often find yourself sending personalised emails with each invoice? If something a little more generic or widely used perhaps it could be worth setting this up as an email template?

Invoices - Enter cents for an amount without inputting decimal point
It would be good if you did not have to enter the decimal place when entering dollar amounts. Just saves 1 extra key stroke but that adds up to a lot of keystrokes

We don't have any plans for this at present but will track the appetite here.
Atm, when entering Expenses or Bills you may find some of the automation through Hubdoc, emailing bills to your org and the ability to enable receipt analysis within Xero expenses help reduce the need to enter these amounts yourself, too.

Quotes - Update default exchange rates in footer, when using custom exchange rates
I would like to suggest creating quotes in multiple currencies should be the same as setting the exchange rate. As currently when we choose another currency when creating a quote, while the exchange rate still appears as the custom rate, the exchange rate that appears on the PDF is the default rate. We should all be on the same page.

Sales Invoices | Imported from WFM - Assign Contact Currency default
WorkflowMax has no understanding of foreign currencies. We now have WFM clients that are being invoiced in either Australian or US dollars as opposed to the standard NZ dollars.
Before sending the invoice from WFM, we set up the contact in Xero to have the following information:
Under Financial Details: Currency = US Dollar
Under Sales Defaults: Sales GST = Zero Rated and Branding Theme - US Invoice

Statements - Option to show receipts only when selecting Activity as the statement type
When selecting ACTIVITY under the Statements section, it would be helpful to filter receipts only. I can currently print a Statement of Activity using a custom advanced template I created, but I sometimes want to omit the invoices to show the client a list of receipts only in a nice report format. To recap, looking for a Statement of Activity, but only showing receipts for the period of time I select.
2 votesHi Kathi, having a bit of a play with reports this is possible through the use of the Customer Invoice Activity report.
You can add a Filter for Source to only select Receivable Payments - this would then show all payments your customers have made without detail of the individual invoices themselves - Have a try and let us know if this solves your needs here 😊

Invoice should be preserved unchanged once issued
UK tax regulations, and presumably those for most other countries, require that when a COPY invoice is produced, that is a copy that has not been amended.
Currently, if an invoice is sent to a client, and the client address details are changed, then the invoice is ALSO changed. This is contrary to legislation.
It is however required that each additional copy invoice must be clearly and indelibly marked “THIS IS NOT A VAT INVOICE”.

I just moved our accounts from QB to XERO and the team are unhappy with a few features - one being no ability to create a row on an invoice or credit note, which behaves as a sub total. This feature does not exist on XERO. But as it does on QB. Therefore a feature gap, which should be resolvable??? XERO - Are there any plans to add such a tool?

Add “Assigned Staff” Tab to Invoices in XPM.
We would like the ability to assign staff members to invoices created in Xero Practice Manager (XPM) to improve workflow visibility and accountability throughout the billing process.
Currently, when an invoice is open, there are three tabs available:
Information, Notes & History.We propose adding a fourth tab titled “Assigned Staff.”
Invoice workflow typically moves through several stages:
1. Staff member creates the bill
2. Manager reviews and approves
3. Director reviews and approves
4. Admin completes final processing and sends to the clientHaving the ability to assign up to 4–5…

Ability to turn off / toggle the warning for
"The invoice was raised after the payment you are reconciling to"
Alot of my invoices are dated after the payment date for whatever reason. It would be create to have a choice whether to receive this warning or not.

When creating an invoice, allow for an option to create a payment schedule for the invoice. Here's how it would work.
- Enter invoice line items, quantities, and amounts like normal.
- Include an "Add Payment Schedule" option to allow for the invoice to be paid in installments over time.
- Provide prompt to indicate the installment due date and the amount of(either flat rate or %).
- Continue to allow additional entries until all installment totals equal the invoice total.
- At the indicated installment date, send out the invoice request the installment amount plus any past due installment payments.

Send credit notes via Xero to Xero network
Can we send credit notes via the Xero to Xero network in the same way we do for sales invoices please?

approval of quotes
There is no facility in Xero to send a quote to a supervisor for approval prior to sending to the customer. It is essential the amount quoted to the customer is correct. I can submit invoices, bills and purchase orders but not quotes. Why not?

Invoicing - Quickly access full Contact Card from the draft Invoice
In New Invoicing, the Contact field shows a summary popup of the selected Contact. Some details can be quickly edited (name, email, address, phone).
However, there is no link to quickly navigate to the full Contact Card stored in Xero.
It would be helpful to be able to jump directly from the Invoice to the full Contact stored in Xero - eg if more details edits need to be made to the Contact, or to view the Contact's full details. If a link is provided this should open in a new tab to avoid losing the Invoice context.

On the top of the invoice or bill screen, display the total value of the invoice or bill rather than having to scroll to the bottom
On the top of the invoice screen, on the far right, display the total $ value of the invoice rather than having to scroll to the bottom of the page to view this amount. A minor improvement but a time saver all the same. In the attachment, note that there is no $ amount displayed.
