Improve functionality for Supplier Generated Invoices
We are a financial services business. Most of our invoices are "supplier generated". I get them into the files inbox and can select "add to new invoice" which opens a new invoice form but the file is no longer automatically attached. (I'm pretty sure it used to be.)
I have to then add it manually.
I'd like file automatically added to the invoice created when I select the file in the inbox and select "add to new".
Better yet duplicate the bills inbox functionality to the invoice process.

Credit Note - Show Allocated Invoices on Email and Print
When I create and allocate a credit note, all is well.
On the newly approved credit note, down in the lower right hand corner, I can see which invoices the credit note has been fully or partially allocated to.However, when I then go to email it to a customer (or print it), the invoices to which the credit note has been allocated do not show up. This leads to confusion for my customer as to how/where to allocate the credit note in their system, as it is far from obvious (especially so on a partial).

Approve and email credit notes
Please stop the credit note page from closing before I can email a copy to the customer.

Search - Auto default cursor
Instead of a search button, the search field should be displayed by default and the cursor should default to that field. That way we can just type our search terms without first clicking on a button or a field.

tax line item
I run a service-only business that does not track, collect, or manage sales tax. Yet Xero currently forces tax references throughout the interface and on invoices, which creates confusion and looks unprofessional when tax is always 0.00. As such, I respectfully request the following improvements:
Account-level tax toggle – Add a setting for non–sales-tax businesses to disable all tax references across the interface when tax is not used.
Hide tax on invoices when not applicable – Allow users to remove the tax column/line item from invoices entirely when tax is not applied, instead of displaying a tax amount of 0.00.

Additional invoicing reference fields
There needs to be a function to add additional reference boxes.
Many others have voiced that not having this function makes it difficult or impossible to invoice their customers with all of the information they need.
Specifically, we required separate boxes to include customer vehicle details. Without these additional reference boxes, we are unable to do so.One work around suggested was that they are added as a description line item, which frankly just looks terrible.
We currently use Sage50, which allows me to manipulate the report designer to include these details.

bill approval workflow
We need the desktop app to support a bill approval workflow. Ideally, I’d be able to submit an invoice for approval, with it then routing automatically to different approvers depending on the nominal code. Once approved, it should post straight through to the ledger.

Sales Invoice - Allow sales tax codes against expense account selection
We have a customer that is billed for direct expenses incurred for travel to their site.
We code the sale to offset the expense, but the tax code doesn't use the default as set against the customer (zero rated income), instead, because we have selected an expense account, it uses the expense account tax rate (zero rated expense, or 20% VAT on expense).
Left as it is, it is in the wrong box on the VAT return (our external accountants have picked this up recently).
The only way to correct this at the moment is by using 'find and recode'…

Allow Users to Disable invoice Pop-ups
Please enable the ability to disable Invoice Pop-ups
I have to copy quite a few invoices each month to keep the formatting for the following month. Whenever I do this, I experience a barrage of irritating Pop-Ups which hover over the items I am trying to view:
- Invoice copied
- Add a contact to start saving (Seriously?)
- The tracking options for some line items have changed as you have selected a new contact
- Contact details have been applied to this invoice
- Did you realise the due date is before the issue date?
That is FIVE unnecessary pop ups, and when having…

Navigate/scroll forward or back with a button between invoices in invoice number order
It would be great to have a button to go forward or back to navigate/scroll through invoices in invoice number order.
Sometimes i need to quickly check details in invoices already sent. But i have to navigate back to the invoice page or search the invoice number.

E-invoicing - Europe
Ability to send e-invoices to Europe (in Euro via Peppol).
This rolls up many other product ideas about sending e-invoices to European countries e.g. Spain, Germany, France, Belgium.
All that is required is an update to the Contact form (which currently just has ABN) to include a field for the Peppol Participant ID. For example, OpenPeppol (AISBL) itself has a Belgian ID of "0208:0848934496" (ISO6523-country-code:country-company-number).

change the font size
Please change the font size back to the larger size in the quoting & invoicing where the line item entry section on the quote/invoice edit screen, where the Description, Qty and Amount fields appear smaller than the other fields at the top of the page.
The larger size the same as the reference/date fields was much better.

Default email when invoice reminders is turned on
Currently when invoice reminders is turned on by the client, the default address is for the reply to emails seems to be the Subscriber's email. Would be good if it was the email of the logged in user by default.

One Stripe account for multiple Xero entities
We currently have 3 different Xero accounts for different regional entities, but all payments need to flow through one Stripe account.
At the moment you have to have an individual Stripe account for each Xero entity/account. It doesn't say this anywhere and when I tried to connect the account to a second Xero entity it began creating new Stripe accounts that I then had to delete.
Being able to connect ONE Stripe account to all Xero accounts would be a huge help.

annual leave to be linked across from Service M8
Please can we link staff Holiday/Annual leave to and from Service M8 to Xero. That way Xero matches the diary planning of Service M8 and automatically updates the staff Holiday Balance

Put the Void button back on the Invoices page
Where has the Void button gone from the invoices page? You now have to open up each invoice to void it and can't void more than one at a time. Please put the red Void button back....it only took up 4 letters on the screen, but gee it is healpful.

Quotes - copy to purchase order
End-to-end workflow: Quote → Invoice → Purchase Order → Bills
I would like to see a more connected workflow in Xero that reflects how projects are actually delivered in practice.
Currently, quotes can be converted to invoices, but there is no ability to move from a quote into a purchase order. This creates a disconnect between customer-facing and supplier-facing processes.
A typical workflow for project-based businesses (e.g. construction, interiors, supply) is:
Quote issued to client
Quote accepted
Invoice raised to client
Purchase orders raised to suppliers based on the quote
Supplier bills received
