Email Settings - Specify date/time to send transactions
Ability to specify date/time when users’ want to send emails from Xero.
Purpose: So clients/customers can receive the email during the working hours and not at random time.
Hi everyone, I'm pleased to share that we're moving forward with the ability to schedule the send of an invoice from Xero.
We're in the early phase of releasing our new invoicing scheduler to customers, and appreciating the direct interest you've all shown here we've included everyone that's voted on this idea in our initial rollout!
You'll see a tool tip on the invoice page for email scheduling, and be able to choose the right date/time when you go to email an invoice (from the send email dropdown). 😊
We're really keen to hear your feedback.
We appreciate there are asks within this idea for being able to schedule the send of other document type such as payslips and want to be upfront that this isn't in the roadmap at present. However, once our invoice scheduler is out to all, we'll be monitoring it's use closely and consider how this feature may be expanded to other features overtime.

we have stage payment and it would be so useful to be able to set them up at the beginning of the project rather than having to set ourselves reminders to do them later

I didn't know about this page until just now - the help advisor directed me here after I sent this:
Is there any way on Xero to schedule the emailing of multiple invoices? For example, when there are large contracts for work spread out across a period of months, I raise several *predated* invoices, one for each month and I send all them to the client's customer. If it was me getting them, I could easily put them in Xero with the relevant advance dates on and it would be fine. But...the client's customers want them sent in the month they are dated for. Because there may be several customers like this, I would have to keep a spreadsheet of which invoices need sending on various dates across the months, which is time consuming and a lot of extra work. The work and costs for each of the customers are different each month, so they aren't 'repeating' as such. So, my question is... I need to schedule the sending of multiple invoices in advance - is there anything in Xero that could help me with this? I've looked but can't see anything obvious, maybe there is a workaround that you know about?
The Xero response was (long story short) no, it can't be done. Scheduled email sending can be done in Outlook for Windows though, so that's what I'll be doing in the absence of an in-Xero solution.

We had the same problem, now we have an awesome team of Virtual Assistants who send out all our invoices on the date we want them sent. We tried the external app recommended but it didn't work. This is the best way. Contact me at Virtual Assistants Australia if you'd like more info.

Can't believe this still hasn't been solved - Xero is great for a small business until you realise you need to have full time accounts person to click send on the invoices!

Come on Xero, this is basic, we all work evenings / weekends to do invoicing, but we don’t want invoices going out at 11pm on a Sunday! Basic

The ability to schedule one off invoices would absolutely be a game changer to increase the efficiency of our team. Currently we have to make a note to go back and send the invoice on the date we would like to - not very efficient for our work flow and there is room for error in this method.

For when creating an re-occuring invoice, there is occasions, where invoices must be sent at specific times of the month, for example...
* Last Day of the month
* Every 2nd Tuesday
* Last Thursday of the monthThe reason behind this, is because some companies who you are invoicing operate specific payment cycles, and in order for a small business to get paid within the terms of their invoice ( Late Payment Act 1998 & your own article on [ https://www.xero.com/uk/guides/invoice-payment-terms/ ] - Payments terms are getting shorter )
More tools we Small businesses have, there better equipped we are in order to meet the requirements to the there businesses who use our services, in order for us to get paid according to our payment terms.
Whilst re-occurng invoices feature that you have is a good start, lets expand on this, and make it excellent. Your Competitor, FreeAgent, is and had been able to do this for years now.

Some clients check their e-mail at night some dont.
When I create an invoice late at night I want to send it so I dont forget, but I may not want my clients to know I am working and sending e-mails late at night.
So Delay send unill 8 AM would be a critical feature. -

To be able to schedule a one off invoice to go at a certain date in the future that is not a repeating invoice.
