wow, EIGHT years now since the idea was shared, six months on from the update and no nearer...???!!
As others have said, it surely really have been a standard feature by now.

This would be a bonus in terms of ensuring clients have a regular statement without increasing workload.

As other have said previously the fact that this is not part of the standard offering is a big minus!

While Xero doesn't support this natively if you can afford an extra 3rd party app. Paidnice (https://paidnice.com/) supports invoice reminders for email + SMS. It can handle all the uses you have outlined below Caz..

Some, not all, of our clients require statements, being able to automate this with a check box and monthly date would save a lot of time and hassle

All users of Xero need to remember that Xero is not interested on addressing our commends, issues and needs.
Xero is in this game SOLELY to make money out of us.
This has been proven by their customer service and responses time and time again. -

Hey Xero Team,
Statements is a integral to accounting. Sincerely hope that the team, would remove bloat, and start adding features that users will use. The reason why clients used Xero in the past was becuase it powered small--medium businesses with a great product ^^. A product speaks for itself, thanks guys!
Price of this product has increased by >40% in a year.

When you do get to this, options I would like to see are:
All Customers:
- Option to send or not send statements automatically.
-- If the option to send automatically is selected, then:
--- option to choose what date and time to send them
--- option to insert a notice to all customers on the statement
--- option to be notified when opened/read by the customerIndividual Customers:
-- Option to choose which individual customers to send statements to
-- Option to choose what date to send the statement for each customer
-- Option to be notified when opened/read by the customer
-- Option to add a notice on the statement to be read by the individual customerI hope this suggestion helps.
In both cases, on statements to be read by all customers as well as an option to send customized

Hi Xero Team,
We are looking for this function to be rolled out from Starting of this year. Team was telling me this is in the pipeline. After 9 months also we did not receive this function in Xero.
We want to send Auto Email Statements to contacts.
Please look into this on high priority.Almost all businesses are looking for this feature as this is the standard practice for maintaining transparent business with all clients.

Having time to move everyone across to the horrible new reports but didn't have time to automate the email statements in the last 8 years.
You've done a great job Xero! -

Why has Xero not moved on this? It seems obvious and universally useful.

While we wait for Xero to add this, try Statey. It's a Xero add-on app. Yes, the base version costs USD 10 p/m, but it works great. Fully automated, let's you know when statements are sent. We use the base version in our practice, and it avoids having to remember and then manually run statements.
