I take prepayments on my services, being able to do this using stripe would be very useful

We would like to issue one invoice which has a 'deposit' element to it to secure the date they wish to book and then a 'balance' outstanding which they have to pay closer to the date in question. is this possible on one invoice?

I need to be able to take partial payments that will apply to an invoice leaving a balance to pay. An option to enter the amount to pay instead of the invoice total only. Thank you

We cannot process invoices smoothly without this function and we are looking at alternatives. If Xero can provide this, we will be satisfied!

I have a workaround that I have implemented this with a few suppliers now.

Ask the supplier to go into Stripe and create a buy button link
https://stripe.com/gb/payments/payment-links

Then they can create a reference field "Invoice Number"
You can pay any amount you like against the invoice

Requires a manual linking of the payment to the invoice, which is sad - but you could create a bit of automation to do that if you really wanted. Zapier could probably do it. I don't have enough to worry about it tbh.
But if you have a lot, you could:
Trigger: Payment in Stripe
Action: Find Invoice (using Stripe text field)
Action: Take invoice ID and create Payment

Allow for part payment of Xero invoices using Stripe

I've been waiting for 4 years for this feature and may have to finally switch back to Quickbooks to get it. Can't believe it's still not available.

Wow! I can't believe this isn't possible.

Surely there is a risk involved of errors being made in selecting an amount to pay. But, there should be an option for the Xero account owner to enter in a value that is then pushed to the client to make a payment.

I cannot believe this is so difficult

This is an absolutely critical feature. We need to be able to send a payment link for a partial payment. At the very least we need the ability for the customer to be able to edit the amount, so we can send instructions. Please, please add this feature.

This is required!!! I am new to Xero and just figured out this is an issue. Is the problem with Xero or Stripe? I need to know which product to replace.

This would be very helpful for some of our customers who are paying larger invoices using credit card payments. Often their P Cards have limits and need to spread over 2 or 3 transactions.

This is a very critical feature - I am surprised that XERO doesn't have this yet.

Yes. This needs to be fixed. Partial payments are very common. Not a good solution to have multiple invoices.
