  1. I would like to be able to check an option that automatically adds the accout number to the reference field on invoices. This would save a lot of time.
    I'm sure there would be options that people would like ot autofill this field so make ot part of the settings

    Appreciate the feedback and how this would be useful when your reference is driven off the contact's account number.

    It's not something we have plans for right now, but do share your idea with others that you feel would find this helpful so they can add their support for your idea here. We'll keep a close eye on the interest and share of there's any progress.

  2. I would like to be able to select a covering statement email as the red box with overdue payments is really annoying our scholars. They see this and think it is the amount they owe. Most of our scholars pay in small instalments this is highly confusing for them. If we had a choice of an alternative template it would be really useful. I have written to support and there is not currently an option for this. Their reply is below for you info.

We’re moving this idea to Gaining Support so we can hear from more customers who would like greater flexibility in how overdue information is shown in statement emails, including different template options.

    If this is something others in your network are running into as well, we’d really appreciate them adding a vote or sharing their use case too. That kind of detail helps our product team better understand the real impact on day-to-day workflows.

  3. Currently, in order to send multiple invoices at once, each invoice has it's own email address box to enter the recipient's email, there is no selection available to send multiple invoices to a custom email address in one click.

    This would be most helpful, especially when multiple invoices are required to go to a different email address (from the default contact email). At the moment this means entering a different email into each individual address box, even if this means entering the same email up to 50 times for each invoice selected.

  4. Our practice makes use of Xero's ability to import invoices to do monthly utility billing and have found Xero's feedback notice / confirm import page to be VERY useful.

    On this page Xero notifies us if
    - any invoices will not be imported due to errors
    - invoice number already exists
    - any item descriptions and/or prices differ from the Xero org's listed products and services

    Unfortunately, it does not notify the user if any new contacts will be created on confirmation, as imported invoices automatically create a new contact if a matching one does not exist.

  5. When opening an invoice the cursor reverts to the Contacts field after a few seconds (after fully loading, presumably) so when I've clicked in a different field, by the time the Invoice is ready to accept changes, the cursor has flicked back to Contacts. It's such a time waster - either waiting on the invoice to load or re-typing everything again in the correct field. It doesn't happen in Quotes so can it not happen in Invoices?

    We understand how cursor focus shifting during page load can interrupt data entry and affect the invoicing workflow.

    Keeping the active field selected where the user clicks, rather than defaulting back to the Contact field, would help maintain a more consistent entry experience.

    We appreciate this suggestion and will continue tracking the feedback and interest shared here.

  6. The clients that I provide services to seek as supporting documentation a timesheet that has been signed off by an authorised representative of the client. At the moment I use an excel spreadsheet to do this then manually generate an invoice on the total agreed hours. It woud awesome to have feature where you prepare a timesheet in xero, xero sends a link to the approver to sign the timesheet then xero pulls the hours into a invoice + any agreed expenses (with supporting invoices and signed off timesheet)

    To make sure we’re heading in the right direction, we’d love a bit more information on your specific workflow.

    Could you please confirm if you are looking for:

    • The ability to add project time to invoices using Xero Projects?
    • Or, are you asking for an integration with the AU version of Xero Payroll, so you can more easily link employee timesheet hours from Payroll directly to your invoices?

    Knowing which tool you're currently using (or would like to use) for this process will help our team better understand the request. Thanks!

  7. 1st) I suggest on embedding the Validated QR code to the normal PDF invoice so that we can print multiple invoices at one go and our normal PDF invoice also consists of banking details and credit terms whereas the Validated E-Invoicing has none of these.

    2nd) I suggest on putting "Send to MyInvois" button instead of copy and paste the e-mail MyInvois@invoi.ci for every invoice. This is too troublesome.

    3rd) Regarding the Invoice interface on the Sent Column, perhaps can Xero make it into two instead? One is for the Validated E-Invoicing & the other one is for customer. The…

  8. Please move the SAVE for the New invoicing to the bottom as per old invoicing. When you have an invoice with 30-50 items and then have to scroll back up to save it adds to the pressure of getting things done.

    Leave the old there until you've got it together and your Paid subscribers are happy.

  9. For businesses that only leverage ACH bank transfers as a form of payment, allow users the ability to remove all credit card logos from the invoice. It's not currently possible to remove the Visa and Mastercard logos from your invoices, when using Stripe as a payment service.

    I hope this message finds you well.

    I would like to propose a feature enhancement to support businesses in Singapore that operate with a base currency other than SGD but are required to comply with IRAS GST submission guidelines.

    Under current IRAS requirements, when issuing invoices in a foreign currency, the GST amount must also be presented in SGD using the prevailing exchange rate at the time of supply. However, in Xero, when the organisation's base currency is not SGD, there is currently no built-in field or conversion box to show the SGD equivalent of the GST…

    Thanks for your votes and comments on this idea for a SGD conversion box for GST compliance. It's clear this is a feature many of you would like to see in Xero, and we really appreciate you sharing your feedback. For now, it is possible to use the Reference field to include the SGD value of the transaction. We’ve reviewed this idea and while we can see the value it would bring, it's not currently on our short-term development roadmap. We'll be keeping an eye out for more interest (votes), as these are a key factor in helping us decide what we build next.

  11. Please remove the invoice amount from the "New Invoicing"

    This should be optional for set templates like the classic invoicing where you could turn it off and on. It doesn't look great and prefer the older layout of the emails where you could control the layout more.

  12. For an Italian company. In order to send invoices to Italian clients, legally they MUST be sent through the Sistema di Interscambio (SDI), a government portal. Which helps prevent fraud and reduces tax evasion and increases visibility.
    The e-invoicing is a specific format and Xero currently doesn't support.

  13. Description / Pain Points:

    1. Refunds: Manual credit notes are required for Shopify order refunds, which is time-consuming and error-prone for high-volume merchants.

    2. Taxes: Xero only supports reporting for one region. Duties and taxes from other regions must be tracked manually, causing discrepancies and extra work.

    Suggested Improvement:
    - Auto-generate credit notes for refunds.
    - Support multi-region tax reporting to match Shopify calculations.

    Hi Sherry, thanks for sharing this idea with us. We've noticed that there are 2 ideas in here. We've found one similar to the Multi-region tax here, so we've added your vote to it. As support shared, Xero won't automatically create credit notes for refund via the Shopify integration, so we'll keep an eye on the support your idea gets here.

  14. Why are the subscription invoices we receive from Xero now being issued with a $0 balance? We are having to manually edit or delete the pre‑populated payment line in order to reconcile the actual payment against the invoice. The pre‑paid negative line is unnecessary and creates avoidable double handling.
    The same issue is occurring with client invoices where credits or overpayments exist. Xero has started adding a pre‑paid negative line to these invoices when they are sent. This process is impractical and will create further problems, as clients will not apply overpayments themselves. This results in additional corrective work for…

  15. I would like to be able to 'print' or 'save' a pdf invoice to a folder of my choosing rather than to the default 'downloads'
    Currently ALL downloaded items from the internet are placed in 'downloads' so I need to move the invoice pdf to my chosen folder. It would be a excellent time saver if I could choose my own folder to save to, and have it use this chosen folder each time.

    I believe it is a software bug to rely on the default settings of the users browser to determine where files are saved to.

    Thanks for sharing this idea. 🌟 At the moment, Xero does support attaching multiple files, but each individual file needs to be under 25MB.

    So this limit applies per file, rather than as one total cap across all files uploaded through the common file uploader.

    We understand why larger file support would be helpful, and we’ll leave this idea here so the team can continue to gauge interest and demand for changes in this area.

  17. When processing a number of customer remittance advices, it would be very useful to have a button to get you straight back to sales invoices awaiting payments list. Currently, when finalising a deposit, the system takes to the bank account that you have selected for the deposit. You then have to go back to Sales>Invoices>Awaiting Payment which the system does lag in loading.

  18. Under the old invoicing, when an invoice was emailed to a client for the first time, the email address used for that first invoice automatically populated the Contact card's email address at the time the invoice was sent.
    This meant that if the invoice was unpaid, the reminder would be able to go to the same person who received the invoice.
    However the new invoicing doesn't automatically populate the Contact's email address.
    This means an extra step is needed to ensure the Contact card is updated.
    If this step isn't taken, then the automated reminders don't go out.

    Thanks for sharing your thoughts and adding your vote to this idea! We totally get how important it is to keep your customer contact info accurate and up to date. An automatic update feature through invoicing sounds like a great way to save you some valuable time.

    Right now, if you send an invoice to an email that’s not already linked to a contact, you’ll need to add that email manually in Xero. The current setup is designed to be flexible so you can send invoices to multiple emails without changing the contact record. But we can definitely see how this feature would speed things up for you.

  19. When posting a payment /receipt against an "already entered" Bill or Invoice, it would be good to be able to do this from the Dashboard. This link could be added to the "+" on the Dashboard and could take you to a search facility to search for the Bill or Invoice. This would also save time having to search under Bills to Pay and Invoices awaiting payment.

  20. Ability to add CC/BCC on every outgoing Statement Of Accounts to customers.
    Purpose: Internal colleagues or stakeholders allows for a clear record of who received the statement and the context of the communication.

    We understand how valuable it'd be to have the option to CC or BCC internal staff and key stakeholders when emailing Statements of Account. You’ve highlighted how this feature would streamline internal communication, support better record-keeping, and make it easier to respond to client queries.

    At the moment, while CC/BCC is available when sending individual invoices, this functionality isn’t yet available for Statements of Account, which means relying on manual workarounds.

    This idea is now in the Gaining Support stage. If this feature would help you, please vote and share your thoughts to help us prioritise it. The more support it gets, the faster we can work on making it happen!
