AU Payroll - Set up multiple auto super authorisers
Having multiple people as a Super Authoriser would be helpful when the 1st person goes on leave.
Hi everyone, a quick update on multi-authorisation for Payday Super.
We recognise that multi-authorisation is a priority for many of you, particularly as Payday Super approaches and businesses review how they manage super payments in Xero.
Our Product team is actively working on an enhanced workflow for this, which is on track for release next quarter.
We’ll share more updates as soon as we have more to confirm.

Well, what a mess. I have clients going on holiday (winter here, so holiday season), and Xero might implement it in a year or 2.

The development team seems focused on building fancy new user interfaces which don't improve any functionality rather than concentrating on essential updates like this. How hard can it be - you've only had 18 months since users really started requesting for this feature. NOT HAPPY

This is a vital update and should be prioritised with the new changes to the law. You are maintaining Xero as a small business software (mum and dad) if you dont allow for this change.

Just adding my voice to all the others on this. This should have been actioned prior to July 1. It is vital to have more than one person in a business be able to process super now it has to be done weekly. PLEASE PRIORITISE THIS ESSENTIAL FUNCTION.

Absolute joke that this hasnt happened yet, as a manager but not owner of the business I dont want to be having pay super while I'm on leave. Seeing this issue flagged so long ago & nothing still done about it makes me lose all confidence in Xero, will be pushing for us to upgrade to a better platform that will actually take feedback from users.

Hi I want to add my clinic manager to be able to process superannuation in case I am away. How do I add him please? This is critical as we have payday super now.

We also need this. Cant rely on 1 person to be able to authorise the payment.
Is there going to be an update soon seeing as new rules come into play next week.

Need to be able to have at least two different superannuation authorisers, especially now we have payday super.
So there is an alternative person to pay super as well as wages when one on holidays or sick. -

Why next quarter, this is totally ridiculous, it needs to be done before the 1st of July, instead of changing all the screens to make them look pretty, compliance options should be a PRIORITY. Not happy at all

Along with this update can you please update the manner in which we allocate super to an employee. At present when adding an employee you can not check the USI in the Employee file so you can easily select the wrong super fund for those with lots of employees and funds. I am aware you can open the payroll settings in a separate tab but with so many super funds having similar names and different USI's it can still be an issue. Thanks

Critical to make these changes before 1st July 2026.
Currently if the authoriser is sick on pay day. Legal Super requirements can't be actioned.Please make sure multiple authorisers can be added. Really anyone with Payroll authorisation should be able to manage Super payments.

If the super authoriser is also the subscriber, as it is for a LOT of small to medium businesses, then that's a single point of failure. If that person gets hit by a bus, there is no way to transfer the ability to pay super fast enough to meet payday super requirements, and they'll be subject to penalties from the ATO through no fault of their own.

Allow multiple automatic superannuation approvers for xero super clearing. With pay day super starting this process will become a lot more frequent. If more than 1 person can approve the superannuation payment will improve the processing of super. If the current person is away it means the xero subscriber has to edit the current details of the approver which can be very time consuming.
