  1. UK Payroll - allow employers who have received SMP advance funding to enter the amount received so that the SMP paid is not recovered, and the correct amount owing to HMRC shows on the Taxes and Filings page.

    We can see that being able to generate a list of employees who are authorised to approve leave may be useful. It's up to the community to get behind and support it. It might be useful to note that when selecting a leave approver, employees can see a list of leave approvers and payroll admin.

  4. Currently, Xero automatically assigns holiday leave to the pay period in which it falls. However, for businesses with a different pay schedule within the tax periods, (e.g., a financial period running from the 6th to the 5th of the month), such as cut off being the 28th of the previous month and paying on the 5th of the month. this can cause confusion and misalignment in holiday pay processing. Employees may receive their holiday pay in a month that doesn’t align with the leave taken, leaving them out of pocket or causing administrative burdens.

    We appreciate you sharing your thoughts on how this would improve your payroll workflow. While this is not something we have plans to develop at this time, we will continue to use your feedback to help us shape the future of Xero Payroll. As noted by others in the idea, one option for now is to continue manually adjusting the leave hours for the correct pay period. We acknowledge this isn't an ideal solution, but it does allow you to correctly apply the leave across pay runs.

  5. On the Employee Contact Details report it would be great to have a column to show the termination date and reason for termination. Being able to sort by termination date range eg last quarter would be beneficial to assist with preparing the long service leave reports. The termination date and reason needs to be included in the report. Having a summary of the information from Xero would be beneficial for all.

  6. What I need is for it to look like the Payroll Employee Summary, but with additional columns for Annual & Personal leave taken and the value of that leave.
    The report you are telling me is to messy to read.

  7. LSL liability calculations are currently handled externally to Xero.

    It would be nice to have a system which could automatically track LSL on staff, similar to asset depreciation.

  9. AU - Compulsory Employee Super When a Employee Superfund changes ABN, USI number, merges with another fund.

    The only solution at moment is to export the employee data into a file and save it. Then deactivate the Superfund. The problem is if you have a query on these past transactions you cannot do it through Xero. If you a subjected to an audit you cannot generate report for the data prior to the date of the changes made to the super fund. If you have been through an audit this creates a lot of work.   10. Hi, It would be great if payslips line items match the 'pay template' pay items or alternatively, for pay items that have a YTD amount to be shown on all payslips (with the Nil or $amount for the current pay period as applicable with the YTD) to breakdown 'Other Previous Earnings'.
    This will also assist tracking multiple pay items where it can vary each pay cycle, coding and tracking STP rates and categories, YE finalisation and review. Many thanks.

    Hi everyone, thanks for your feedback regarding YTD line items on payslips. We understand that "Other previous earnings" groupings can cause confusion for some employees.

    In Xero Payroll, any earnings that haven’t been included in the current pay but were paid previously in the financial year are grouped and shown as Other previous earnings.

    While we don't have plans on our immediate roadmap to change this feature, we’ll keep voting open to track interest for the future. In the meantime, you can access a detailed pay item YTD breakdown via the Payroll Activity Details and Transaction Listing Details reports.

    Hey everyone, we appreciate a lot of recent activity and trend in this idea especially with Pay Day Super coming.

    As mentioned in my last updated this is an idea our product teams are keeping a close pulse on and we want you to know this is high on our agenda, likely to be picked up later this year.

    While we can't provide any commitments as yet, we'll share another update here as soon as there's progress.

  12. Currently, Xero does not have the feature to assign certain working days for part time employees. This becomes very frustrating when doing payroll.

    For instance, an employee works Wednesday to Friday and when a public holidays falls on a Monday, Xero will allocate either all or some of the employees ordinary hours to this date incorrectly. This means we will have to manually adjust it each time.

    A simple resolution would be to set up employees to certain working days, then the public holidays would assign correctly and there would be no need to manual adjustments.

    Thanks for your engagement with this idea to allow setting specific working days for part-time employees in AU Payroll. We understand wanting to handle these common working arrangements smoothly and accurately.

    We know this is a key area for improvement and we'd like to look into this deeper in the long term, however it’s not in our roadmap just yet.

    Right now you'll need to manually adjust leave requests.

    We'll be sure to provide another update as we move forward with our investigations.

  13. when printing or saving the employee summary report x group the name of the group doesn't appear. If doing multiple groups, this makes it difficult to know which group is which when referring back or from printed reports.

  14. For the payroll drop tap it would be good if we could have notification numbers next to say leave request and timesheets. Like the notifications of expenses.
    This helps to keep track on all leave submissions and what's approved.

  15. It would make sense to rename "Mileage Claim" to "Trip KM's" or something like that.
    There are only 3 countries around the world that officially still use the IMPERIAL system (Miles). United States, Liberia, and Myanmar.
    It's a term that doesn't come naturally to the rest of the world.
    In the back of my mind, I feel that I need to do a "KM's to Miles" conversion calculation, for every trip entry. Even though I know that's not necessary.

  16. Xero uses 4 decimal places when calculating leave accruals. As it doesn't use the standard 5 decimal places, like most payroll software, the amount of leave entitlement that you record from this in the liability account in the balance sheet and P&L expense is more than it should be.

    But the bigger problem this is causing is the fact that it is actually giving the employee more accrued leave than they are entitled to.

  19. We have 2 employees that will be taking 1 day LSL every week in the new financial year and it would be very helpful if there was a way to add in this type of leave request as a recurring request for the same day each week. Rather than having to add in 1 day leave for each occasion.

    Hi everyone, thanks for your feedback and support regarding automated payslip emails. We appreciate you sharing how this feature would improve your workflows.

    The product team has reviewed this idea and confirmed that this is something they’d like to work toward in the future. Although it isn't on the roadmap yet, we've moved the status to Accepted. We'll keep you updated as things progress.

    In the meantime, payslips can be emailed manually after processing each pay run. This means if you post pay runs in advance, you may still need to log back into Xero on payday to email them.
