  1. Contacts are all over the place. Anyone can create a contact, there are no proper restrictions in place, and user permissions are extremely limited and basic.
    These are the things people have been asking and begging for, for years. Please focus on fixing these core issues.

  2. Find and Recode should not be able to change tax type without fair warnings in Sales Invoices.

    This is a risky feature to be used without warning. I have noticed that it doesn't change the sales invoice, which it shouldn't. But surprise was it could change any invoices selected no matter if those were already issued/ paid/ closed etc.

  3. Since its introduction, the Xero app has had a significantly positive impact on my clients, enhancing their overall accounting experience and improving efficiency in managing their finances. I greatly appreciate the value the platform continues to provide.

    However, I would like to raise a concern regarding the absence of the demo company feature on the Xero mobile application. Currently, the demo company is only accessible via the web-based platform, which presents a challenge when demonstrating the app’s capabilities to prospective clients using mobile devices.

  4. I am going through a bad divorce and I have to give my ex wife read only access to my company file however i am going against court orders and not giving her access as i know she will take invoices, purchase orders and product sell and buy prices to my competitors once our settlement is complete.

    I need xero to create a read only service that does not show invoices, purchase orders, bills, inventory and also removes the report tab. pretty much just allow her to see bank accounts and where money is getting allocated.

Xero’s current roles (including Read only) are intentionally broad, but we know they’re often too ‘all or nothing’. We can’t give a timeline for specific changes to Read only yet, but the direction is definitely toward more configurable roles and tighter control over what view-only users can see.

  5. Users who only have access to expenses should still be able to ask to have their permissions removed. It is ridiculous that I have access to a company expenses dashboard that I shouldn't because I don't know the subscriber and can't remove myself.

  6. I recently noticed that all Standard Users in Xero are able to edit the settings on a client subscription. Is it possible to make this permission optional, so that the subscriber can decide whether or not to grant staff access to these settings?

  7. The Organisation settings page should have collapsible headings, similar to the Reports page, for clear, concise, and faster access to settings.

    Currently, the new look of the organisation settings page is a large step backwards. It is difficult to quickly find and select a setting area that is not part of the shortcut menu options in the new look homepage/menu rollout.

    The current organisation settings page is an exercise in excessive scrolling abilities to find the setting you need to access quickly.

  8. I have read the Xero feedback that multiple approval levels in XeroMe expenses is not on the roadmap (disspointing) but I would like to make a case for a specific situation. I have team managers that can approve other expenses, but they should not be able to approve their own expenses.

    Can we please have a check box, or option, that if someone is granted approver status, that they should or should not be able to approve their own expenses? Everyone needs a reviewer, but as it stands, if someone is granted approval rights, that individual can approve their own…

    Hi Brian, thanks for sharing your feedback. We understand the point in having an option to prevent users from approving their own expense claims, particularly for larger teams or businesses with more structured approval workflows.

    I’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking interest and help our product teams better understand the demand for this type of approval permission setting.

  9. Please include the date that support pages are updated and the version of Xero to which they are applicable.
    Some of the support pages are out of date and do not relate to the current version of Xero.

  10. Proposed Feature: Quote Only User Role with Restricted Inventory Access

    Introduce a Quote Only user role in Xero that allows a user to create, edit, send and approve quotes while restricting access to all other parts of the system. The user should only see the quotes they created themselves and nothing else.

    The Quote Only user should be able to create quotes, edit their own quotes, send quotes to customers, and view inventory items with read only access. Inventory visibility should include item descriptions, prices, tax settings, and available stock quantities, but the user should not be able to modify…

  11. Where you have a group of companies, it would be great if you could have a HomePage which consilidated the position across all Group companies. Forinstance if you had 3 subsidiaries under 1 topco, it would be great to see the cash balances, creditors and debtors of all 4 companies in one place.

  12. XERO is the only system I know which does not automatically add the hyphen between the numbers. e.g. 00-00-00 Instead XERO goes 000000 and you have to add 2 hyphens. This would just be nice!

  13. Anywhere we can add Notes (invoices, transactions, etc.) we should be able to tag other users. I'd like to write a note for my bookkeeper and tag her so she knows to go look at it.

    Those tags should then show up as notifications in that users console and/or some sort of "To-do" area.

  14. Please remove the latest update on Xero: when you copy an invoice it automatically opens a new tab on my laptop. I have more than 20 invoices to post everyday, I do not wish to have 20 tabs on my screen in the end. Not every update is a good update. When you don't have a better update, it's better to just maintain it.

  15. Currently Product Idea notifications are either enabled or disabled.

    Which means I get a ridiculous amount of emails for every single product idea I've ever commented or voted on. And given Xero's inability to actually resolve any of these issues, the number of notifications is going up and up.

    Currently, because of the amount of complaints about the new homepage my inbox is full every morning.

    I don't want any more notifications reminding me how bad the new home page is. However, I do want notifications on a lot of the other 'Product Ideas' that I am following.

    Totally get it's still round about to the direct ask you have here, however did you know it's now possible to add a new tracking option as you enter an invoice?

    Maybe this could dave you from having to go to the Tracing Settings before entering your invoice?

    Either way we'll start to track the interest from others in having a quick access link for this, here.

The 3 letters that are by the company name are automatically chosen by Xero, we should be allowed to change this to something relevant, for example, my company is called ACR Fabrications Ltd, common sense would dictate those 3 letters should be ACR yet xero has chosen AFL which is obviously the first letter of each part but that's not relevant to my company

  18. I am looking to restrict staff members from accessing Xero on unauthorised devices. This will ensure that only company issued devices are used to access Xero. Could Xero please consider this as a quick win?

    Thanks for raising this with us Nuha, we can see how restricting Staff access on unauthorised devices might be helpful for businesses. While this is currently not possible, we can open this idea up to the Xero community so other users who would like to see this change can also share their thoughts. The current signup process, while being advertised for bookkeepers actually requires a registration with the TPB as a tax or BAS agent, however pure bookkeepers categorising transactions and doing account reconciliations have no need to lodge BAS' and hence no reason to obtain a BAS agent number.

    This oversight prohibits bookkeepers from signing up to the partner program and growing the platform.

    A simple "do you intend to make lodgements for your clients - yes/no" button before the "BAS agent number" input field would suffice.

    Appreciate you sharing the idea here Hamish. bookkeepers can’t sign up for the Xero partner programme without BAS/TPB registration at the moment. We understand this may not be useful for people who do not want to register for Tax. We'll open this idea up to the community so we can gain some support on it.     Hi Rosemarie, appreciate the ask to minimise clicks when accessing the Files library—those small efficiencies can make a big difference in day-to-day work.

    To be upfront, our Product team doesn’t currently have plans to add Files to the menu bar. That said, we’ve moved this idea into Gaining support so the community can add votes and comments, which helps us better gauge overall interest and impact.

    In the meantime, a quick tip you might find helpful: pressing the slash key (/ or /?) and then F will show a link to the Files Library that you can click straight away.
