Xero Login - Enable Passkeys as a replacement to passwords

Passkeys (https://fidoalliance.org/passkeys/) are rapidly taking over passwords and are infinitely more secure than passwords.

Intuit are already using Passkeys (https://fidoalliance.org/case-study-intuits-roi-from-passwordless-customer-authentication/)

Hi team, we've just launched passkeys to our first group of users. From this week, Xero Me app users who haven't set up MFA yet will be able to use passkeys to log into Xero. Next, we'll be progressively rolling this out to more users over the coming months. We look forward to and welcome your feedback here. As we have more news on the rollout I'll share with you on this idea.

    Agree, please implement Passkeys for Xero login. Our customers require us to maintain the highest level of security and Passkeys are important for this. We have Passkeys enabled for other SaaS products.

    Can you please implement support for passkey login? A lot of Saas products have already done this. It is more convenient than MFA.

    Still waiting for passkeys for desktop app. So fed up with juggling notifications on iphone for different Xero logins (I run two companies through Xero, which for some reason have different MFA needs at different times of day).
    Why is Xero fiddling around with AI for reconciliations (which just create more work for me), instead of getting the basics right?

    +1 to prioritising core improvements such as passkey support for the desktop and web apps. Establishing solid fundamentals/state of the art should come before introducing loosely integrated "AI" features that aren’t fully developed.

    Implement passkeys on the desktop, stop asking me for the verification code every time and allow me to stay logged in for as long as the screen saver hasn't kicked in. I work from home, who's shoulder surfing, my dog? He can't type.

    Where is passkeys on the desktop version of the app? This is seems to be on the only desktop app I have that doesn't support Passkeys.

    Hi Xero. I can log into Xero on my phone using facial recognition, but it's not available on my desktop, why is that? Should be easy to do, right? Current MFA whilst necessary is cumbersome, facial ID is simple and safe.

    Passkeys are a decent alternative to the embarassing lack of SSO. Stop wasting time with AI agents and JAX that no one asked for and provide for basic security features

    So glad to see this. Having to login multiple times a day, plus the login popup doesn't smoothly integrate with password managers (sometimes it fills, sometimes it doesn). Passkeys are life changing when properly setup because reauthenticating can be as simple as a single click. We would be happy to beta test this! As a MSP, we've setup MANY types of FIDO2 authentication methods (Yubikeys, Google Titan, Windows Hello, 1Password Passkey, etc) to help our client deploy them.

    Now add Microsoft and Google SSO.

    This should already be implemented with how much you charge. Forget making everything look pretty and get this thing secure.

    Huge +1, pulling up the 2FA rotating token every day is subpar.
