New Manual Journals - Search and select Tracking Category

The new manual journal entry layout does not allow for quick selection of a tracking category using keyboard shortcuts (number or letter). The old layout allowed me to press a key, like "2" & all tracking categories that contained a 2 would come up. The new layout forces the user to manually scroll & find the tracking category. Guys, i have Clients with 40+ Tracking Categories. What is going on? Improving things doesn't just mean make it look shiny & change things. It means actually making things better. Why would you take a key search feature away that saves time? I almost want to sell my bookkeeping practice. This is ridiculously annoying.

    Allow typing/searching for tracking categories instead of just scrolling the dropdown list
    Please add the ability to type into the tracking category fields to auto-suggest or filter options, rather than forcing users to scroll through a long dropdown menu.

    Currently, if a business has numerous tracking categories or options, users have to manually scroll through a massive list every time they enter a line item on an invoice or bill. This is incredibly time-consuming and slows down data entry significantly.

    Standard accounting workflows require speed. Adding a "type-to-search" or auto-complete functionality to the tracking category fields (similar to how the "Account" or "Item" fields work) would drastically improve efficiency and the overall user experience.

    Hi Isabel, giving this a quick test I'd like to confirm this is already possible. From the tracking field of an invoice or bill you can simply start typing which will filter the results of your tracking options. From here you simply select the relevant option.

    I cannot comment anymore on my original idea so I opened a new one. This is not true to the new MANUAL JOURNAL wherein we still have to scroll down the list of the tracking categories. Please have the functionality to search/type in the manual journal as well not just to the bill/invoice. Thanks

    in fact, your article about the changes to manual journals in xero states "There are no changes to the way manual journals work in Xero or to any existing journals or repeating journals you have set up.". That is in fact incorrect. This critical feature has been removed, which is a change.
