  1. It would be good if you could scroll up past 2015 when adding a date on the relationships tab. Rather than having to press it, then reopen it to open up the next bit.

    Hi Francisca, thanks so much for submitting this idea — we really appreciate your feedback!

    We understand how much smoother data entry would be with a more user-friendly date picker when entering historical dates in the Relationships tab in Xero HQ. Being able to quickly scroll or jump through years would save you time and make the process much easier.

    Right now, the date picker requires multiple clicks to go back several years, which can slow things down. Your suggestion for an improved, intuitive date selector would make a big difference to your workflow.

  2. Create the ability to update time entries for draft bills.
    We often have a manager draft the bill and between the bill being created and it being approved by a director, there is additional time added to the job. If there was an option to refresh the bill to include all time before approval, rather than having to delete the bill and start again, that would be amazing!

    Hey Sarah, thanks for raising this Idea with us, we appreciate the time you've taken. As you know with the XPM invoices once they are created you are not able to edit or update them to included tasks/time that have been added after. This is to reduce any duplicate billing and other errors that may occur and for auditing purposes. We have reviewed the Idea and have moved this to not in Pipeline as there aren't any plans to make any changes in this process in the current roadmap.

  3. Currently when producing and filing (lodging) a CURNN is does not display the Financial Year it relates to. It would be very helpful to have the FY displayed so it is easily identifiable. The same as all the other Tax Returns.

  4. We need a Trust Estimate to be included in Trust tax returns for ALL types of trusts. Xero recently added a trust estimate but it is for Deceased Estates Less Than 3 years only. This is not useful. This type of trust is a very small percentage of the trusts that our firm has.
    We need the estimate to be able to calculate -
    - Deceased Estates More Than 3 Years
    - Discretionary Trusts where there are Foreign Beneficiaries
    - Discretionary Trusts where there Minor Beneficiaries
    - Discretionary Trusts where there is no beneficiary presently entitled

  5. Currently NZ clients can make payments to a Tax Pooling provider (e.g. Tax Traders or TMNZ) and they will sit in the Tax Pooling Providers account until transferred to IRD.
    In the clients mind they have 'paid this tax' already, but when the tax return is prepared in XPM there is no sign of any tax pooling payments, and it shows the full tax liability.

    It would be great if there was a way to type in how much has been paid to Tax Pooling, and record this on the front page of the tax return so there is a…

    Thank you for this excellent and detailed suggestion regarding NZ tax returns and tax pooling payments.

    We can certainly see how clients would find it confusing when their prepared tax return in XPM doesn't reflect payments they have already made to a provider like TMNZ or Tax Traders. Your idea to add a note or a specific field on the return to record this amount would be a great way to provide clarity and manage client expectations.

  6. Workpapers Practice Staff Management is not integrated with XPM/HQ. User access should be manageable the XPM so that all Xero owned products Practice Staff access can be managed in one area. This would allow practices to control their staff in one place, rather than having to add and remove staff separately in the Workpapers App.

    Hi Rebecca, thanks for this great idea about centralising user management for Workpapers.

    We understand that having to manage staff access separately in Workpapers instead of in one central place like XPM or Xero HQ creates extra administrative work. Your suggestion to integrate Workpapers user management so you can control all practice staff access from a single location makes perfect sense.

  8. Please add ability to reorder accounts (lines) on a workpaper in Xero Workpaper. This is painful both for automatically populating workpapers (which go in the impractical alphabetical order) and custom workpapers (where every new line is added at the bottom...).

  9. Xero's feature of importing invoices into XPM is great for clients. But there is no way currently to stop importing them for people who aren't clients. Currently - we sell digital products, which we need to keep invoices for. Every time a digital product is sold, it creates a new client in XPM. They aren't clients.There should be the option to only import if a client exists in XPM.

  10. We now have a single client record with HQ & XPM but it still does not pull through the client partner & manager from XPM and allow us to filter this way.

    We would find this feature very helpful when bulk updating client access for our team members when they start or depart.

    We also need to be able to export reports from HQ on the filters we apply. Currently even if a filter is applied the export includes all clients and columns and not what is in the filter display.

  11. When a tax return is created from a job you need to manually link this to the job once the tax obligation is created. It would be good if this automatically linked to the job like AU and NZ

    Hi team, we appreciate this idea being raised with us and would like to gauge interest from the community for auto linking a return that's created form a Job.

  12. We use Fusesign as our e-sign solution and it would be great to have the option to send a document directly into the signing software. We've seen a much higher engagement level with Fusesign than any other e-sign product as it doesn't require another login, it uses SMS/email verification instead.

    A direct link would smooth out the workflow from the tax product > signing (and maybe even into client files in FYIDocs).

    Hi Matthew, it appears that FuseSign is already an integrated app Partner with Xero. As they've designed and built their integration with Xero themselves they'd it'd be best to approach their support to see if this is something they'd consider extending their integration for.

    You can find their support contact details at the bottom of their app store listing.

  14. Client Insights is fantastic for showing client by client stats.
    How about providing a TOTAL for the entire client list or filtered list, so that you can see how each client compares to the selected "community" of clients

    We've reviewed your suggestion to enhance it further by showing a total for the client list or a filtered group. We can see how this would provide valuable context, allowing you to easily benchmark how an individual client compares to the rest of the community.

  15. There is a difference in functionality between D5 and D8 in the AU individual tax return form. When deductions are entered in D5, the default deductible percentage is 100%, and whatever percentage is entered here (eg 40% phone) is rolled over when the tax return rolls over to the next year.

    In D8, the default deductible percentage is 0% (inconsistent with D5, easy to miss when quickly completing a tax return, requires you to manually type '100%' every line item - why would you enter a 0% deduction?) and the manually entered percentage does not roll over to the next…

    Hi everyone, while we appreciate hearing how we could make processes more efficient for our customers using Xero, this is not an idea we would be able to take action on.

    Inland Revenue do not currently allow correspondence to be sent with a tax return via the Gateway services. This may be feedback that you could share with your IR Account Manager. Thanks

  19. Would be great to create a report in XPM that shows client bank details so we can identify clients that are missing bank details and need to be followed up. This would also avoid the issue with tax returns being lodged with no bank details recorded.

  20. Within insights you should be able to change the date ranges for data so you can see for example revenue for 12 months etc.
