Practice Manager (XPH) - Increase date range limit for custom fields beyond 50 years
Ability to add a date greater than 50 years. We have a custom field for trust vesting date (typically up to 80 years after formation). Since the latest update we are unable to add date greater than 50 years.

Subscription Transfers - Indicate current subscription
When a subscription is transferred to manage from one entity to another, there should be some sort of indication of what subscription package they are on. Currently we have to go back to the past accountant / client and ask.
2 votesHi Lisa, thanks for sharing this here. We can appreciate that having an indication of a subscription would be a good addition to avoid back and forth. We're moving this idea to gain more support so that other users such as yourself who would like to see this change implemented can also add their vote. You can now share this idea with your peers to get them to vote as well! :)

XPH | Clients - Audit trail for client history
Client History
It would be great to have a running record of client history in XPM, showing the date and person who, including but not limited to:
- created the client
- edited client details
- archived client
In a large firm over multiple offices, it would be easier to know who to contact if there are questions about details are entered into XPM, and keep XPM as a CRM up to date.337 votesHi everyone, thanks for sharing on your needs for a comprehensive client audit trail in XPM. We understand this feature is critical for accountability and data integrity, and we hear you on the pain points this is causing.
As you might've read and heard updates of our teams are currently working on a unified experience across practice tools with the Xero Partner Hub.
History of client changes aren't wrapped into the initial work, but this is something the team would like to look at longer term and for now we'll move the idea to Accepted. Once Xero Partner Hub is fully released we can consider and will share any updates around history with you all here

Allow businesses to access workpapers
Allow businesses access to workpapers including workflows etc, the same as accounting practices have. This will allow bigger businesses to set up appropriate workflows and not have to take reconciliations out of Xero to complete, saving time and improving processes.
2 votesHi Arna, just to check in on your idea here - Are you asking for small business without a Xero advisor to have access to Workpapers?

AU Tax - Ability to schedule client tax return emails to be sent for signing
Can XPM/Xero tax add a scheduled send feature? So that we can schedule tax returns/BAS returns to be sent at a set time and day to the client for signing? Content snare, Outlook etc all have these features and its very much missing from XPM.
1 voteHi Jackie, thanks for bringing this idea forward.
We understand you’re looking for an option to schedule tax return emails for signing, so client communications can be sent at a time that works best for your practice and clients.
Having more control over when signature requests are delivered could help practices manage busy tax periods more efficiently.
We’ll continue to track feedback and interest from the community for this idea. Please keep sharing your workflows and use cases here.

NZ Tax - edit bulk email addresses
Please reinstate the ability to edit email addresses under the bulk email function under Tax > Payments. Depending on the type of tax notice, we have to send a tax notice to a staff member and copy in an additional person. It will not allow us to enter in a second email address under the client profile. This is very time consuming if we have to send it out twice and inefficient.

AU Tax - Ability to share Rental Property Schedules
The fact that it's so hard to get a rental property schedule to share from one return to the selected second client is very very very very annoying. If there were a button we could press to manually ask it to share across that would save endless saving, closing, opening, closing the whole program, turning off your computer and leaving my desk in frustration.

UK Tax - Ability to run per tracking category for sole trader accounts
We have set up tracking categories in xero - one for Land & property and one for Self employment. I want to be able to import the data in to their tax return. I normally generate on xero tax the xero sole trader accounts to then be able to import these into the tax return. However, when i do the sole trader accounts, it pull through all information - L&P & SE. I only want the SE bit so i can add this to the SE section on the tax return. I have asked xero support if there is a…
3 votesThanks for sharing this idea. We appreciate you explaining how filtering sole trader account data by tracking category could support your tax preparation workflow.
As you've mentioned, tracking categories will be utilised to support multiple businesses for MTD for IT, however this isn't available with Xero Tax for sole trader accounts preparation.

Job Manager - Bulk Update suggested Notification Process
Incorrect Bulk Update and Suggested Notification Process
Example Scenario:
On Job Manager, a staff member accidentally selected all active jobs and changed their status from “In Progress” to “Completed” using the bulk update feature.
Impact:Over 150 jobs were marked as completed.
Workflow visibility was disrupted, and deadlines were missed because jobs disappeared from active lists.Root Cause:
Bulk update permissions were too broad.
No audit trail or alert triggered when job states changed.Recommended Controls:
Trigger Email Notifications for Job Status Changes/Setting up email alerts
Detecting incorrect bulk updates
Reverting changes quickly Options
Require confirmation before applying changes to…3 votesThanks for sharing this idea with us. We appreciate you outlining how safeguards around bulk updates could help teams manage workflows in XPM.
This idea is now in Gaining support status, meaning the community team have reviewed it and it's open for community support through votes and comments. We encourage others who'd find this helpful to add their votes and share their experiences.
In the meantime, it is worth noting that a custom job notification for job state change could be created in your XPM account if you haven't done so already.

UK tax - Ability to split debtors due for longer than 12 months
Xero Tax currently doesn't have the functionality to separately display non-current assets and current assets as distinct sections on the face of the balance sheet. The software is presenting all debtors (including the deferred tax asset) under the current assets section, with the split between current and non-current amounts shown only in the notes.
Whilst FRS 102:4.4A states that in most cases it's sufficient to disclose amounts due after more than one year in the notes, in our recent case we identified that we had a material item that requires separate disclosure on the face of the balance sheet to…
1 voteThanks for raising with us here, Nyima.
Appreciate the need you've shared on being able to show a material item separately on the face of the balance sheet.
It'd be good for us to get a better capture the impact this has for other practices here. For yourself and others coming across the idea, it would be great to hear further examples of any compliance or presentation needs you have in this feature, particularly where material items need separate face-of-balance-sheet disclosure rather than note-only disclosure. If there's any plans made around this we will share here.

Invoice Branding - Ability to Set Payment Terms and Payment Methods at Contact Level
Overview:
Currently, in Xero, the branding theme determines the payment terms and payment method for invoices and bills. While this approach works for general branding purposes, it limits flexibility when managing diverse customer or supplier requirements.Problem Statement:
Many businesses have contacts with unique payment arrangements that do not align with a single branding theme. For example:Certain customers may require extended payment terms (e.g., 60 days) while others operate on shorter cycles (e.g., 30 days).
Suppliers may prefer specific payment methods (e.g., EFT, credit card) that differ from the default settings.Relying solely on branding themes for these settings…
3 votesHi Meehgan thanks for sharing this idea here. Appreciate having the need to have different payment terms for different contacts. While this is not an existing option in Xero, we are adding your idea to gaining support so that other members from the community are also able to add their comments and vote on this. :)

Xero Ask - a universal login link for ask queries
If my client is tech challenged and cannot figure out how to follow a signature request link from your emails, I send them the link to https://portal.xero.com/ and they can usually manage it from there. This appears to work for document packs too.
Can we please have a similar universal login link for ask queries?

Keyboard Shortcuts - Restore the ability to open new tab with CTRL + click.
Please restore the ability to open XPM search results in a new tab using Ctrl + click.
I regularly use the search button in the top right of XPM to look up client names. While right-clicking still allows links to be opened in a new tab, Ctrl + click no longer works.
Ctrl + click is a much faster and more natural workflow, especially when moving through multiple clients, so losing this functionality has reduced efficiency. It would be great to have this reinstated.
1 voteThanks for taking the time to share this feedback with us 💡 We understand how important quick navigation is when you're working through multiple clients in XPM, and can see why losing Ctrl + click would interrupt a workflow that previously felt faster and more natural.
Even though right-clicking still provides a way to open links in a new tab, we appreciate that this adds extra steps and slows things down when you're moving between client records regularly. Small changes like this can have a real impact when they're part of an action you rely on throughout the day.
We've moved your idea to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking interest and better understand how many practices are affected by this change. Thanks again for taking the time to explain the impact so clearly — feedback like this helps give our team better context around the workflows that matter…

AU Tax - Default refund account type to client
AU TAX - Default EFT account type to CLIENT
Under Cover > Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) > Account type there are 3 options - Manual, Client, and Agent.
It would be helpful if there was a setting in Client Settings > Client Types to default the EFT Account type, so we don't have to manually change this on every return.

Practice Manager - Add new WIP to an existing invoice
In other accounting management software, you can allocate WIP to a previously posted invoice. This is a really handy feature which prevents WIP being written off if a job has already been invoiced and no further invoices will be raised.
It helps with budgeting and KPI's (preventing WIP writeoff).
There are enough times when it has been needed, e.g. after a job has been completed and invoiced, and new information comes to light requiring a re-work.25 votes -
AU Tax - CGT Event Summary Report
Competitor software provides a summary of the CGT events from a tax return in a 'line-per-transaction' view that's easy for clients to view and understand. This is lacking since switching to Xero Tax.
1 voteHi Alex , we appreciate your feedback on how a dedicated CGT Event Summary report could make it easier to review and reconcile complex capital gains activity during tax prep.
Having a single report to view CGT events and supporting calculations could help reduce the need to work across multiple schedules and asset records. We’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can track interest and share the feedback with our product teams.

Xero Tax (UK) - Option to change filings dates
Our understanding is that it should not be necessary to amend the year-end date at Companies House in order to file an accounting period that falls within −7/+7 days of the year end, as doing so would constitute an extension of the accounting period, which we would prefer to avoid.
At present, Xero does not support this scenario, nor does it offer an alternative recommended approach. It would therefore be helpful if Xero could address this limitation.
The only workaround we can see available is to change the year-end date to the 30th or 31st where it is not already…
2 votesThanks for sharing your idea, and letting us know the changes that matter most for you. We appreciate you highlighting the importance of having flexibility when filing within the acceptable Companies House range without amending the official year-end date.

XPM - Booking calendar integration
Develop a booking calendar that integrates with our XPM client database. At the moment we have to run two different databases for the same information, to schedule bookings for clients with accountants/block out time for jobs.
