  1. For annual leave, sick leave and unpaid leave - have a link between practice payroll and XPM timesheets for practice staff.

    Be able to show booked and taken leave clearly in XPM on the dashboard.

  2. Client Insights - Ability to filter on GST registered / period please. This is so we identify the right clients to check if the bank account is reconciled and ready to review for GST filling.

    Thanks for sharing your idea to introduce GST filtering in Client Insights! We appreciate you telling us about the changes that would make a real difference to your work.

  3. Please add the functionality to set a cessation of trade date for a company in liquidation or in the insolvency process to allow for accounts and corporation tax returns to be produced from the last year end to the date of cessation of trade/insolvency.

    This will enable Accountants to produce these closing accounts and CT returns from HMRC and so offer a one stop shop and earn more revenue.

  4. It would be helpful if you could move the job information sections into any order (and this is default for all jobs & Clients). The main focus when we open a job is to review the tasks and these are way down the bottom. At the very least the default job information layout could be that all the sections are closed and you can open the section you want without have to scroll down all the time.

  5. Extend the information in Xero HQ to include full client data.
    Information that would be good to see on each client information schedule would be;

    a. VAT registration date, this is required for security with HRMC so needs to be in one place when contacting them.
    b. VAT quarters (We do have clients that don’t use xero and this information is important)
    c. PAYE registration details (Not all clients use Xero payroll and equally flicking between various clients bookkeeping systems when on the phone to HMRC is a bit irritating!)
    d. UTR details for companies

  6. Currently the Client Title on a printed or downloaded tax return shows in all uppercase even though the fields in XPM & Tax are proper case. Would like this to be an option to choose so that the text is consistent eg either all uppercase or proper case.

  8. I’m reaching out to request assistance regarding a feature enhancement for Xero Practice Manager (XPM). Currently, XPM allows invoices to be pushed seamlessly to Xero Accounting (blue), which is incredibly helpful. However, I’ve noticed that proposals and estimates created in XPM cannot be pushed to Xero Accounting in the same way.

    Appreciate you attaching a screenshot to demonstrate your flow here, Badi. Just wanted to check as this is a public forum there's nothing sensitive in this that you wouldn't want others to see?

    Can understand why you'd like to enhance the sync of information and save time in adding these manually in Xero blue.

    Not something we have immediate plans of but we'll start collecting community interest for this through your idea and update if there are any plans made.

  9. Previously when a job was created in XPM from ignition, a hyperlink was created to the proposal inside the XPM job. We always click this to access the proposal and issue the invoice when finalsing. This link is now converted to plain text which requires either copying and pasting or opening ignition and manually browsing to the proposal.
    Would be great to have this functionality restored.

  10. It would be great if Xero recognised Bank term deposits or Pie deposits, and could record the interest rate, compounding periods, and calculate accruals to balance date.

    Hi Paul, thanks for sharing this idea. Being able to automatically calculate interest accruals on bank term deposits or PIE deposits within Workpapers would definitely help save time and improve accuracy across your clients.

  11. Option for 'Other allowable expenses' in the tax comp to allow the depreciation on assets purchased as a finance lease as capital allowances are not reclaimable but depreciation can be deducted.

  12. We have some companies and trusts with characters such as hyphens in their legal names. However, Xero Tax does not allow us to distribute directly to these entities due to these characters in their names.

    Our current work around is entering the beneficiaries' details manually, but then the distribution does not flow directly to the beneficiaries' returns.

    I think this may be a ATO limitation. However, in other tax programs I have used, I was able to use an alternate name so the distribution could still be directly linked to the beneficiaries return. I would like a similar feature in…

    Hi Tania, thanks for sharing this idea. We appreciate you explaining how early submission of activity statements could streamline your workflow, especially for clients with zero balances. As you know, at the moment, Xero only supports lodging activity statements for the periods as they’re issued by the ATO, and we process statements in order to align with those obligations. This approach follows ATO-provided due dates and period availability, which are fixed by the ATO and surfaced in Xero to help you stay compliant. This idea has been moved to not in Pipeline as this is not something we are looking at currently. The Idea will be open for votes though and we will keep monitoring it. Thanks again for taking the time to share your suggestion with us and the community.

  14. Put all CIPC related applications in a separate secretarial Application. Beneficial Ownership has nothing to do with Tax, and I don't do tax so can't use Gatekeeper but I advertise Beneficial Ownership a lot and use a good, priced Beneficial Ownership submission to get my foot in the door and then try sell the client on Xero. You could also look at submitting Annual Returns to CIPC out of Xero as you have the clients Company registration number as well as their turnover.

    As you've mentioned 2 separate reports I've split your idea so we can get an understanding of the community interest in each and keep you updated if there are any plans made.

  17. When I started with Xero, we had a lovely monthly Zoom call with local Xero Accounting & Bookkeeping Partner Practices. Topics would be presented, but also we would exchange ideas for best use practices and workarounds and how to leverage Xero tools. We could discuss troubleshooting and compliance, etc. It was a great way as a business owner to network with other Xero-focused practices in my area, support one another, and share information. It would be great to see these come back one day!

  18. We've just found out to our horror that we lose access to ALL Xero historic accounts and tax filings prepared and submitted through Xero Tax for a client if the Xero sub is cancelled.
    Apparently this is because Xero needs to maintain access to the live data even for filed returns. Therefore, there has to be a process where ALL accounts and tax comps must be downloaded and stored elsewhere each year. We think that's crazy and that all filed returns should be stored in Xero Tax as PDFs. If nothing else, there should be a flag warning us! This…

    Our product team has confirmed that these records are not deleted when an organisation is deleted, but they're moved into a hidden state. We're looking into how we can improve the storing of these within Xero HQ in future. If you need help with this in the meantime please contact our Xero support team via Xero Central.

  19. Would like the ability to see Write-ons / Write-offs on the Invoices dashboard for Draft invoices to allow easier review of drafts.

    Alternatively some form of reporting that takes draft invoices into account vs billable time to see 'draft write-ons/offs'.

  20. I learned the hard way after bulk importing 1,700 jobs on the wrong template that you could not delete those imported jobs in bulk. I spent 4 hours individually opening each job from a report and deleting.

    It would be great to use job manager to be able to select jobs (assuming they haven't got any time, costs or invoices associated with them) and delete.
