  3. When using client groups and clicking the Work in Progress Button, there is nothing showing when there is WIP in the group.

    It appears the group name is not pushing through the WIP link to the filter properly.

    Hi Ben, while WIP should be appearing for all the clients in the group our product teams have found an issue for some users where this isn't loading correctly.

    We have intentions to fix this however a couple of other items that they have attention on first, I'll share when work for this gets picked up. Thanks

  4. Relationships: Adding the correct group structure while distributions still being able to flow to the right tax entity

    We have a company called Sample Company Pty Ltd. The shares of that company are held by Share Company Pty Ltd on behalf of Beneficiary Trust. We should be able to put in that Share Company Pty Ltd is a shareholder of Sample Company Pty Ltd but that the distribution flows through to the ultimate shareholder Beneficiary Trust. Right now, we have to put that Sample Company Pty Ltd has a shareholder Beneficiary Trust which is not actually correct. Xero currently has…

  5. Be able to export list of archived clients, especially if they still have xero subscription that was missed to cancel. So that these can be easily reviewed.

    We are paying Xero for no reason at all.

    Also the ability to bulk change those archived clients eg cancel subscriptions

    Perhaps when clients are archived there should be something to flag to remember to do something with the subscription eg cancel or transfer.

  6. AU 100% GST on Imports - this function needs to be improved. It's 2025 and we are still required to do manual adjustments for GST on imports to get the correct result. It shouldn't be this difficult!

    Hi Ryu, thanks for sharing this idea here. Appreciate that you're wanting to see improvements in the way 100% GST on import is recorded in Xero. We've moved this idea to Gaining Support and now it's up to the community to get behind it. In the meantime, we'll monitor this idea for more traction.

  7. When creating a journal and posting it, if we want to go back and make it an auto-reversing journal, the only way is to click "copy" or "reverse" then enter a new journal at a required future date. When doing this, Xero does not link the two (i.e. does not recognise the new journal as an auto reversing journal with the usual hyperlink and note). My suggestion is for Xero to keep the "auto reverse" field open when editing already posted journals. Two example use cases:

  8. Our understanding is that it should not be necessary to amend the year-end date at Companies House in order to file an accounting period that falls within −7/+7 days of the year end, as doing so would constitute an extension of the accounting period, which we would prefer to avoid.

    At present, Xero does not support this scenario, nor does it offer an alternative recommended approach. It would therefore be helpful if Xero could address this limitation.

    The only workaround we can see available is to change the year-end date to the 30th or 31st where it is not already…

  9. Develop a booking calendar that integrates with our XPM client database. At the moment we have to run two different databases for the same information, to schedule bookings for clients with accountants/block out time for jobs.

  10. Currently the practice entity Xero blue file cannot be linked to a 'client' within the client list under the practice. This means users are unable to generate a workpaper pack for the practice.

    Our Practices need to be compliant too, if we are unable to use workpapers within the system, we have to find another solution for our workpapers

    There needs to be the ability to link the practice organisation to an entity within the client list.

  12. Low Value Pool:

    Xero has locked the entry of low value figures taken from Quantity Surveyors Report for rental properties in tax - item D6 and insists on creating low value pool schedule by entering the asset.
    Per advice I received from specialist, I entered the figures and date from the beginning of low value pool e.g. 01/07/2019 with starting amount of $431.00. The following errors and issues come up:
    1. The calculated amount was $162 which was claimed five years ago
    2. On validation Xero gives error and asks for a date in current year i.e. between 01/07/2024 to…

It is recommended that for assets purchased in the current year, enter the date they were first used; otherwise, leave that field blank. Also, note that the Xero Tax Low Value Pool is not a comprehensive asset register and therefore does not record the original purchase cost. We've added this idea to Gaining support and it is up to the community to get behind it and support it.

    I've slightly adjusted the title of your idea here to focus on the 2nd point you've raised for adding a logo so we can get a view of the interest in this too. 🙂

  14. It would be beneficial for the Bank Reconciliation Status to return positive insights as well. I have attached a rough adjustment for the 'Up to date' flag, and I feel the slight CSS value adjustment here makes it more visible that the Bank Reconciliation is in fact up to date.

  15. Want to be able to post money received overpayment's to accounts payable.

    At the moment, if a supplier sends back money and we don't yet have the paperwork, to clear the bank rec we need to add as an overpayment (tight closing dates) However, as its money received it automatically gets posted to the sales ledger. It would be good to have the option to post to the payables ledger so this can be allocated here

  16. If the Job has a Partner and Manager - carry this across to the client view with a notification for the Admin to check if correct. Most of the time the Partner and Manager will be the same staff as in the job. Result more streamlined for reporting purposes in client manager.

    Hi Martin, thanks for sharing this idea! We totally get how useful it would be to have a dedicated report for prepayments and miscellaneous invoices in Xero Practice Manager. It could save time, cut down on errors, and make reporting a lot easier.

    Right now, there’s no built-in option for this, and we know the manual workarounds aren't ideal.

    This idea is in the Gaining Support stage — so if this matters to you, we encourage the community to keep voting and sharing their inputs! Your feedback really helps us shape what comes next.

  18. Since the XPM update (April 2025) milestones in XPM are now at the bottom of jobs. They should be at the top of the job (as they were previously) so that they are one of the first things we see on a job. We use milestones to remind us of important filing dates so relegating this to the bottom of jobs requires too much scrolling and is very frustrating.

  19. It would be good to have more control of the error messages, and ability to dismiss these for specific clients. This would reduce noise for clients that you do not do VAT for.

    Currently, you can hover over a certification to view the expiry date, with colour indicators showing when a certification is close to expiring (yellow) or already expired (red). This idea suggests extending that functionality by including the certification type directly within the Staff tab.
