Xero Tax - Report to show Amended Returns / Activity Statements
I believe there should be an option to run a report which shows which tax returns / activity statements have been amended and lodged as a revised version for your whole client database. Without this, there is no current way of knowing the amount of revised returns / activity statements that you have lodged which can be a problem.

Xero Tax XPM - calculate the estimated PAYG instalment payable in SMSF Tax Returns
It would be good if Xero Tax calculated the estimated PAYG instalment payable in SMSF Tax Returns as we use this to inform our clients of what amounts they are up for in the new financial year, a very important piece of information for them to consider re timing and amount of cashflow outgoings. Xero Tax does it for individuals so not sure how difficult it would be to make it apply for all entities subject to the PAYG Instalment system.

Practice Manager - Audit trail for client history
Client History
It would be great to have a running record of client history in XPM, showing the date and person who, including but not limited to:
- created the client
- edited client details
- archived client
In a large firm over multiple offices, it would be easier to know who to contact if there are questions about details are entered into XPM, and keep XPM as a CRM up to date.309 votesHi everyone, thanks for sharing on your needs for a comprehensive client audit trail in XPM. We understand this feature is critical for accountability and data integrity, and we hear you on the pain points this is causing.
As you might've read and heard updates of our teams are currently working on a unified experience across practice tools with the Xero Partner Hub.
History of client changes aren't wrapped into the initial work, but this is something the team would like to look at longer term and for now we'll move the idea to Accepted. Once Xero Partner Hub is fully released we can consider and will share any updates around history with you all here

NZ Tax - Tax Payment letter notes to show in Tax Statement
When 'ignoring' tax notices (letters) and adding a note this is only available to be viewed while the date is available in the payment tab. It would be handy to have the Tax History including the body of the note be available in the Statement tab when the amount is ignored as it is when amount changes.

Practice Manager - Show tax payment notices in client's Dashboard
In XPM, if we want to look at what tax payment notices we’ve sent to a client, we can’t see this by looking at the individual client’s dashboard. We need to go to the tax menu then search the client. It would be good if we could see it on the individual client’s dashboard as a section in the Tax Returns tab.

XPM - Insert a merge field/placeholder into Task description
It would be helpful to be able to insert a merge field such as 'Tax Year' into the description of a task. Handy when it comes to preparation of the invoice as not all returns are for the current year.

Practice Manager - Display Name for clients
It would be great if we could have the option of a display name as legal name for all entity types and not just individuals to help differentiate different entities with the same name. For example, we have a few trusts that share the same name but are completely separate entities belonging to different client groups and it can make it hard to tell those apart at a glance.

Workpapers - Bolder highlight for PDF attachments
Workpapers - Preview Attachment Highlighting faded
When previewing a workpaper rather than downloading if you have highlighted using pdf manager this doesnt show that bright. Need to fix as this is hard for a review to know what the team member has highlight.1 voteHi team, thanks for sharing the how bolder highlighting would improve your use of Workpapers. We're pleased to share (as you may have heard through the grapevine) we have a new Workpapers solution in the mix that's being rolled out in phases over the coming months.
With the new solution attachments will be more visible, making it much simpler to review. Right now, you can read more about this new feature on our blog, and I'll be back to share once it's available to everyone, here.

Xero Tax (UK) - Send receipt in Xero Tax for electronic signature requests
It would be really good if when the accounts and corporation tax return have been sent out for digital signature to a client that there was a send receipt with a date and time stamp to show its been sent to the client with details of what email address it was sent to. When sending out lots of requests over various different clients it is easy to forget if you have sent the signature requests out.

AU Tax - Create a Tax Form from Returns Tab
It would be timesaving to be able to Create a Tax Form (all types) directly within the Returns tab and link to an Existing Client and Job.
What would be even better would be to be able to add a Job on the fly during the process if not already established.

XPM - Add active status to staff list
Please indicate on the attached page which staff are currently working. This would help with seasonal practices to turn on and off staff without having to open each record.

Practice Manager - Move jobs within a client
Ability to move active jobs within a client so that when the automatic retrieval from ATO (+New Return, +New AS, +New CURNN) goes to the top job on the list. At the moment it automatically goes to the last job created. This wont necessarily be the job you want the automatic retrieval to go against. Should be able to sort the active jobs so that this can happen. We currently have to go into the automatic BAS created, delete it, open the correct job and create a new BAS from there.

Practice Manager - Change the issue date for invoices
It would be great to have the ability to change the issue date for draft invoices created in Practice Manager. The only way to do this is to delete the invoice and re-create it which can be very time consuming. The Due date can stay as the company's default, and update according to the new issue date.

US 1099 - Identify Checks and Debit Card activity on bank accounts
Debit card transactions are not needed to be reported on 1099s. When using bank feeds in checking accounts it does not distinguish debit card vs check. I suggest there be a option to identify debit card vs checks so the debit card activity is not automatically added the the 1099 reporting.

Xero Tax - Links between the tax return and client record
From the client record, it would be useful to see a link to the tax returns, and from the tax return, a link back to the client record.

Xero Tax - Canadian GIFI schedule for current tax year
Exporting Canadian GIFI schedule should be enabled for the current tax year. Sometimes we need to export the current period to run a tax projection in the tax software.

XPM - Import summary of earnings name from IRD in lower case format
Currently when XPM gets the Summary of Earnings information from IRD and imports this into the XPM tax return, this imports all the names of where they have earned income from in CAPITAL LETTERS. This isn't very friendly to the eye and we will often go in and rename each of these imported lines so they look nicer.
Or if these aren't edited, but other data is added e.g. business income, then the format won't match.
All caps is very ugly!It would be great if XPM would import automatically with first letter in capital letter and the rest in…
