  3. The ability to bulk update staff access to client tax returns in xero tax. Currently, the only way to change staff access to certain clients in the xero tax feature is to go into each client file and change it individually. A bulk update function would be more efficient and less time consuming.

  4. I use Xero Tax to prepare all my self-assessment returns for clients and I'd like to send out a reminder this month of the POA due at the end of the month along with their UTR references. Is there any way to produce a report from Xero Tax summarising this information by client which could be exported to Excel and used as basis for a mail merge? If not, this would be really helpful and presumably, as the information is already held in Xero Tax to generate the Payment Reports this should not be very complex to develop. Thanks

  5. XPM Staff permission - Practice Administration Permissions: You shouldnot have to give a staff member access to the full business setting menu to be able let them access the PLS/ELS reports. There should be a PLS/ELS Management only permission.

    I want a staff member to be able to access the PLS/ELS reports without being able to access other staff member information or having access to all my practice setting.

  6. I believe there should be an option to run a report which shows which tax returns / activity statements have been amended and lodged as a revised version for your whole client database. Without this, there is no current way of knowing the amount of revised returns / activity statements that you have lodged which can be a problem.

It would be good if Xero Tax calculated the estimated PAYG instalment payable in SMSF Tax Returns as we use this to inform our clients of what amounts they are up for in the new financial year, a very important piece of information for them to consider re timing and amount of cashflow outgoings. Xero Tax does it for individuals so not sure how difficult it would be to make it apply for all entities subject to the PAYG Instalment system.

  8. Client History
    It would be great to have a running record of client history in XPM, showing the date and person who, including but not limited to:
    - created the client
    - edited client details
    - archived client
    In a large firm over multiple offices, it would be easier to know who to contact if there are questions about details are entered into XPM, and keep XPM as a CRM up to date.

    Hi everyone, thanks for sharing on your needs for a comprehensive client audit trail in XPM. We understand this feature is critical for accountability and data integrity, and we hear you on the pain points this is causing.

    As you might've read and heard updates of our teams are currently working on a unified experience across practice tools with the Xero Partner Hub.

    History of client changes aren't wrapped into the initial work, but this is something the team would like to look at longer term and for now we'll move the idea to Accepted. Once Xero Partner Hub is fully released we can consider and will share any updates around history with you all here

  9. When 'ignoring' tax notices (letters) and adding a note this is only available to be viewed while the date is available in the payment tab. It would be handy to have the Tax History including the body of the note be available in the Statement tab when the amount is ignored as it is when amount changes.

  10. Currently we can update a clients physical/postal address and then update all those relevant in the group using the pop up 'Update relevant client addresses'. It would be so helpful and save time to be able to do this for the EMAIL address of a client.

  11. It would be great if we could have the option of a display name as legal name for all entity types and not just individuals to help differentiate different entities with the same name. For example, we have a few trusts that share the same name but are completely separate entities belonging to different client groups and it can make it hard to tell those apart at a glance.

  12. Workpapers - Preview Attachment Highlighting faded
    When previewing a workpaper rather than downloading if you have highlighted using pdf manager this doesnt show that bright. Need to fix as this is hard for a review to know what the team member has highlight.

    Hi team, thanks for sharing the how bolder highlighting would improve your use of Workpapers. We're pleased to share (as you may have heard through the grapevine) we have a new Workpapers solution in the mix that's being rolled out in phases over the coming months.

    With the new solution attachments will be more visible, making it much simpler to review. Right now, you can read more about this new feature on our blog, and I'll be back to share once it's available to everyone, here.

  13. It would be really good if when the accounts and corporation tax return have been sent out for digital signature to a client that there was a send receipt with a date and time stamp to show its been sent to the client with details of what email address it was sent to. When sending out lots of requests over various different clients it is easy to forget if you have sent the signature requests out.

  15. It would be timesaving to be able to Create a Tax Form (all types) directly within the Returns tab and link to an Existing Client and Job.

    What would be even better would be to be able to add a Job on the fly during the process if not already established.

  16. Debit card transactions are not needed to be reported on 1099s. When using bank feeds in checking accounts it does not distinguish debit card vs check. I suggest there be a option to identify debit card vs checks so the debit card activity is not automatically added the the 1099 reporting.

  17. The ability to bulk upload/import Recurring Jobs via .csv file, in the same way you can Bulk Import Jobs that are not recurring.

    This allows for each row to have the copy/paste capacity for overlapping criteria and can be quickly created through a spreadsheet (which could stem from an Export of your client list to 'schedule' your job creation throughout the year).

    One import for an entire client base would be considerably more streamlined and efficient.

  18. Whilst this currently auto calculates, there is no calculation in Xero to confirm the return has the correct amount. This has to be checked manually, which can leave room for errors and requires extra work by users. It would be more efficient if the system could check this.

  20. Recent new requirements from the ATO mean that businesses have to nominate new BAS and tax agents via ATO Online Services for Business, before the Agent can add them on their end (on ATO Client Services for Agents). This requires the tax payer to have set up MyGovID, gone into RAM and log into ATO Online Services for Business. The majority of clients have no idea how to do any of this. It would be good, if there was a way that they could nominate the Agent from Xero instead. Perhaps the linking of the Xero file to the ATO…
