Can you provide Tax Returns for Trusts (SA900)?

We understand how returns for Trusts would be beneficial in Xero Tax (UK). This isn't in our immediate roadmap, but we're keen to continue tracking the interest for this from community through the idea. If any progress is made we'll share an update for you all here.

XPM - Hide Archived Contacts
New XPM Contacts that link to multiple clients shows archived contacts when search. This is confusion to know which contact to select when the client has archived entities, if use incorrect one then not using 1 main contact. Currently having to select each one till find the main contact with current contact info.
Need to block out archived contacts from showing or atleast show a symbol against them so know not to select it.6 votes -
Practice Manager - Keep user signed in when moving between the 'Clients' & 'Jobs' tabs
We are finding staff are regularly being logged out of XPM when they move between the 'Clients' tab & the 'Jobs' tab. When this happens it asks staff to log back in, but we are finding it is taking them to random different areas of XPM instead of back to where they were. i.e Setting up a new organisation page, in the middle of a client file etc. This appears to be a basic functionality issue that needs to be fixed.

XPM - Notes & Fonts option on Recurring jobs
Would be great to have a notes section under "description" in recurring jobs in XPM as well as the ability to change font type,size & colour

User access - Administrators HQ access to client files
We are getting an increasing amount of (sometimes angry) pushback from clients where when we add Administrators to our HQ account, they are automatically given full permissions over any linked client Xero files, as well as all our ledger files. We are a large firm with over 15 Administrators.
Please give us the ability to CHOOSE, if we want to add all administrators to all files.
OR
Create an administrator role that doesnt need to add them as a USER to each client file.Imagine you have a Xero file for your own personal business, and suddenly notice 13 people…
9 votesHi team, we understand and appreciate the concerns around permission sets and giving staff access to clients. The Xero Partner Hub will introduce new permissions with more granularity to control what your staff can see and access within client files. These permissions will be independent of the practice role and can be assigned to anyone.
The Admin role will continue to have automatic access to practice owned orgs, however you may like to consider whether existing staff still need this permission or if they can instead be given the Standard role with additional permissions for managing Clients or Staff. I'll return to share as this goes live. Thanks

VAT - Automatically calculate returns when switching VAT scheme
Hello,
I would like for Xero to automatically calculate the VAT returns accurately when switching from a VAT scheme to another. Currently, we need to manually adjust the returns to avoid any duplications caused by the transition. There is room for a lot of human error when doing this and I believe this feature is extremely important.

Xero HQ - Set a date range for reporting
Allow the ability to set timeframes to the the reporting currently on Xero HQ.
For example to receive a quick overview of the bank reconciliations at the year end to see how much is to be reconciled and for what bank accounts.

AU Tax - ability to update status in all tax return tab - additionally add ability to see more fields/columns for each tax return
The tax return view/list can be significantly improved through:
- the All tax return tab - ability to update the status from here. Currently, when we go to Lodge, we have to find the return in the All tab to determine what status it is at, then go to that specific status tab, find the return again, and update the status - this is really cumbersome, particularly when we are lodging numerous returns that are all set at different statuses.

XPM - Reassign client in bulk
Would love the ability to efficiently reassign clients in bulk within XPM, using tickboxes (like in the jobs list) to select the relevant clients and reassign to a new accountant. The import/export feature is clunky and often errors on import. A quick and easy way to complete this function would improve client experience when a new accountant joins the firm.

Workpapers - Add Next button to bottom of page
The 'Next' button in workpapers, should be added at the end of the page (eg, A5 - Analytical Review) as this flows better for reviewers and saves time having to scroll to top of page when client has MANY accounts

Workpapers - Download supporting document from 'Documentation' icon
Allow for documents to be downloaded from 'Documentation' icon as well as previewing - The preview feature is not great
1 voteHi team, we’re excited to let you know about a confirmed improvement coming to our new Xero Workpapers, where you'll find a much improved preview and ability to download supporting documents!
The rollout of new Workpapers will be phased, beginning with Australia with more regions to come in FY26.
While the new solution will make this process more seamless, you can still download supporting documents in classic Workpapers today by; downloading individual files from the 'Supporting Documents' list or exporting the entire workpaper pack as a ZIP file, which keeps all your original documents organised and ready for download.
I'll be return to let you know once new Workpapers is live to you all.

Workpapers - Allow Document button to be used in Archived workpapers to see documents for that account
So annoying to open an archived workpaper pack, want to check a document that was attached to an account and you can't! Have to scroll down and find it amongst all of the attached documents from that whole workpaper. Nightmare!

Client queries - Uploading to specific line item
Xero workpaper functionality that allows clients to submit their query responses against a specific line item, rather than the paper tab. Currently, it is difficult to determine which account the supporting document is for.

Xero Tax Asset Register - Written off Assets not Remaining on Register
Hi,
In tax returns for clients that have a business schedule in their ITR, when an asset is fully depreciated, in the following year it disappears from the tax return and depreciation schedule altogether.Is there a way assets can remain on the depreciation schedule? It is very handy to have a full depreciation schedule for all assets, particularly if clients sell assets in the following years.

XPM Workpapers - Show account Review Point relates to in the section at the bottom of workpaper
Currently, if I am looking at a Workpaper and I click on the Flag next to an account, I can add a Review Point for that account.
That review point shows up in the list at the bottom of the workpaper.
If I click the flag next to the account, I can see the review points that have been added to that account... but I can't see the replies to those review points and nobody can reply to them from that area.
I have to scroll down to the bottom to reply to the review point.

6 votesHi team, as you might've heard we have a new Workpapers solution that will be rolling out to partners over the coming months. It focuses on creating a more streamlined and deeply integrated compliance workflow, taking on board many of the ideas represented in community here.
While the new solution won't show the account name just yet, there is a reference to the account number denoted to the right of the review point. You can see an example in my attached image.
We appreciate partners would still like to see the account name referenced and we have another idea that we're tracking interest in this for here, please do add your vote to that if you'd like to see this too.
We'll be staggering the rollout with Australia first off the cuff, and other regions to follow in early 2026. I'll keep you updated of it's release here. Thanks!

US Tax - Create Schedule C Report with Full Cost (Total/Gross Cost Inclusive of Sales Tax) for tax return.
US Tax - Create Schedule C Report with Full Cost (Total/Gross Cost Inclusive of Sales Tax) for tax return. Currently, it will pull the amounts without the sales tax (created when you match a transaction/enter an invoice using tax on purchases amounts) into the report, which is under-reporting the amount for the Schedule C tax deductions.
The current work-around is to pull the transaction reports for each account and use the Gross amount from those reports in Excel to link back to the Schedule C report.

Although we haven't enabled the option to exclude a balance sheet from sole trader accounts within Xero HQ we wanted to share this very exciting update with you. We recently released a direct import of the P&L from Xero onto the self-employment worksheet within Personal Tax, without the need to map the account codes and generate a set of sole trader accounts.
Previously we only supported an import from Sole Trader Accounts to Personal Tax which for some of our partners involved an extra step, particularly for smaller clients who typically only receive Income & Expenditure accounts. We hope by adding this functionality that you will be able to maximise the more flexible reporting capabilities within Xero to produce accounts for sole traders. NZ Tax return - Refresh refund bank account from IRD data
Provide the ability to import/refresh the clients refund bank account number held with IRD into the Tax Return. Currently seems like we are having to manually enter it on the tax return. MYOB has this functionality and it's great, saves time and typos.

Xero Tax (UK) | Corporation Tax Payment Details Summary
Our existing tax software has a summary page that is automatically generated and goes alongside the CT600 that includes the payment amount, due date, bank details to use and payment reference. I.e. a perfect 1 page summary to give to the client so they know what to pay.
It would be great if Xero Tax could incorporate this into their solution so that the payment details don't have to be sent to the client separately.6 votes
