XPM - Bulk delete jobs
I learned the hard way after bulk importing 1,700 jobs on the wrong template that you could not delete those imported jobs in bulk. I spent 4 hours individually opening each job from a report and deleting.
It would be great to use job manager to be able to select jobs (assuming they haven't got any time, costs or invoices associated with them) and delete.

AU Tax - 15 Year Retirement Exemption in CGT Worksheet
When you select option "D" at "Have you applied an exemption, rollover or additional discount?" of a CGT worksheet, the return should automatically grey out/disregard discount as a CGT method because you cannot discount a capital gain if you are using option D which is the 15 year retirement exemption. At the moment it automatically discounts the gain and causes an error which does not explain that you need to change the gain to other

XPM - Create a registered office field on contact details for companies
Create a Registered Office field in the contact details so that for client companies, we can have a quick view of physical/business, postal and registered office details. Currently, we have had to create a custom field, which you have to scroll down to the bottom of the page to view.

Xero Workpapers - Link to Prior Year (Archived) Workpaper Pack
A quick link from this years (active) workpaper pack to last years (archived) workpaper pack for this client would be so useful and save so much time. Accessing prior year (archived) workpapers is such a 🥴 workflow at present.
Ideally this would be available on the Workpapers page (where you can see all workpapers) and take you to the same for last year, and it would be available on every individual workpaper page (and take you to that same page for last year).

As you may have heard, we've been working on a brand new Workpapers solution. This is a complete overhaul of our Workpapers offering, and we're thrilled to confirm that linking to the prior year's archived workpaper pack is on the roadmap.
The new solution will include direct and seamless navigation between years, providing a link from the current year's workpaper pack to the previous year's archived pack for the same client. This'll save you significant time, making your compliance and review workflows much smoother. We're phasing the rollout, starting with Australia, with a global expansion to follow. I'll keep you updated here as this release widens.

We are having issues with staff adding time to a job when there is a draft Final invoice that has been created. Then the invoice is approved and the added WIP does not get picked up and sits on the now completed job for us to stumble over months later. It makes sense to lock the timesheets when a Final invoice has been drafted.46 votes -
XPM - Clients show all jobs for groups they are a part of
When you go into a client and enter the jobs tab, there is no job for that client even though they are part of the group that there is a job for and that client is included within that job. The job only shows for the single client where the job is created.
The jobs tab already includes sections for active jobs and archived jobs. It should also show a section for jobs assigned to other clients within its group.

XeroHQ | AU Payroll - Report or View STP Unfiled Pay runs
It would be good to be able to run a report of all Xero clients that have unfiled STP, or be able to view at a glance on XeroHQ. This would assist in making sure clients are meeting their compliance obligations quickly rather than go into every client to look at the Payroll Overview.

NZ Tax - Ability to identify payment plan with IR
Would be great to have the ability in XPM tax to identify if the client has a payment arrangement with IR. If there is somewhere in tax we can enter this information and this gets flagged when approving the tax payment letter, not to send the letter if the tax year is under arrangement.

XPM - Report for Prepayment or Miscellaneous Invoice
Hi there, we would like to have a report in XPM to show all the invoices. This would include the normal invoices and prepayment invoices(miscellaneous invoices).

Right now, there’s no built-in option for this, and we know the manual workarounds aren't ideal.

XPM - Generate new client record via ATO Pre-fill Data
In many accounting software platforms, the established workflow for onboarding a new individual client and preparing their Income Tax Return leverages ATO pre-fill data efficiently.
This process typically involves:
- Adding the new client to the ATO portal.
- Downloading the pre-fill XML file directly from the ATO portal.
- Saving the downloaded XML file to a local directory.

Xero HQ - Restrict Access to Specific Client Groups by User Role in HQ
It would be great to have a feature that allows users to group clients within their HQ (or the main dashboard) in a way that only selected users with specific permissions can access certain client groups. This would provide more granular control over who can see and manage specific clients, making it easier to manage access for teams working on different client accounts.
This would be especially helpful for firms with multiple teams handling different types of clients (e.g., accounting, payroll, etc.), ensuring that only relevant team members can view and work on certain client groups.

Xero Sign - Automated Notification of Xero sign Bundle Expiry
Automated reminder for Xero Sign Bundle expiration
I have just been caught out again with expiry of unused transactions in my signing pack of 150. Instead of being cut off at expiry date or having to remember to go and look it up could there just be an automated reminder. Also, for us small sole traders it would be great to have smaller bundles than 150, even 50 at a time. Even better, why not let us use all of our transactions we have paid for. For now, the best way to stay on top of your usage is to manually check your remaining transactions and the expiry date in Xero HQ > Xero Sign. A good workaround is to set up your own calendar reminder 🗓️ to check in on your bundle regularly. This will help you avoid any last-minute surprises. Right now, an automated notification for expiring Xero Sign bundles isn't on our immediate roadmap. NZ Tax - Customise declaration
It would be good to be able to customise the Declaration that is just above the signing line in the Tax Returns. The default wording is quite broad, and it we would prefer to be able to customise it to reduce our risk. Clients are not always truthful in reporting all income, and we need to protect ourselves.

This idea is open for voting and comments from the community, and we'll be keeping an eye on its progress to gauge interest.
In the meantime, while it's not possible to edit the declaration on the return itself, you can add your own custom text and disclaimers to a cover letter that you send with the tax return. This might help you manage the risk you mentioned.

Document Pack - Schedule time to send document pack

Practice Manager - Relationship Type
Can we please have a general Relationship Type option for relationships such as "family" or "associate"/ partners. This would be for general family relations like siblings, cousins, in-laws etc.

While we're making a lot of improvements to Clients with the new unified experience, we want to be upfront that developing more custom relationships like you're after here isn't on our roadmap.

Job Manager - Set the Primary Contact as the default contact
When each job is created, we manually have to add the contact to the job. If this is not done, the invoice that is pushed to Xero Blue doesn't have contact information and we are unable to utilise the automatic reminders etc. This requires manual monitoring and negates the efficiencies within Xero Blue.
This manual process would be solved if we had the ability to set the Primary Contact as the default contact on jobs that are created. This could for example, be set up as a tick box in settings. This could give people the option to switch on…

Workpapers - Add ABN on Financial Reports.
Some banks require the ABN or ACN to be present on all pages of the Financial Reports supplied to them. Currently, the only way to do this is to export the report to Excel and then painstakingly type the ABN/ACN in to every single page.
There should be an option to toggle this on/off. Alternatively a field type that pulls the ABN from the company file would be suffice to add to the report template.

AU Tax - Rental schedules with comparatives on the same report
I have a client who holds 4 rental properties all of which had significant differences from the previous year creating a large increase in tax payable. They have asked for an explanation, and it would be more efficient and easier for them to understand, if the comparatives could be on the same report as the current years figures so they were only looking at 1 piece of paper for each property. You can see the 2 years information on the screen but it would be preferable for some meetings to be able to have a hard copy. Thanks
