  1. It would be beneficial for the Bank Reconciliation Status to return positive insights as well. I have attached a rough adjustment for the 'Up to date' flag, and I feel the slight CSS value adjustment here makes it more visible that the Bank Reconciliation is in fact up to date.

  2. Want to be able to post money received overpayment's to accounts payable.

    At the moment, if a supplier sends back money and we don't yet have the paperwork, to clear the bank rec we need to add as an overpayment (tight closing dates) However, as its money received it automatically gets posted to the sales ledger. It would be good to have the option to post to the payables ledger so this can be allocated here

  3. If the Job has a Partner and Manager - carry this across to the client view with a notification for the Admin to check if correct. Most of the time the Partner and Manager will be the same staff as in the job. Result more streamlined for reporting purposes in client manager.

    Hi Martin, thanks for sharing this idea! We totally get how useful it would be to have a dedicated report for prepayments and miscellaneous invoices in Xero Practice Manager. It could save time, cut down on errors, and make reporting a lot easier.

    Right now, there’s no built-in option for this, and we know the manual workarounds aren't ideal.

    This idea is in the Gaining Support stage — so if this matters to you, we encourage the community to keep voting and sharing their inputs! Your feedback really helps us shape what comes next.

  5. Since the XPM update (April 2025) milestones in XPM are now at the bottom of jobs. They should be at the top of the job (as they were previously) so that they are one of the first things we see on a job. We use milestones to remind us of important filing dates so relegating this to the bottom of jobs requires too much scrolling and is very frustrating.

  6. It would be good to have more control of the error messages, and ability to dismiss these for specific clients. This would reduce noise for clients that you do not do VAT for.

    Currently, you can hover over a certification to view the expiry date, with colour indicators showing when a certification is close to expiring (yellow) or already expired (red). This idea suggests extending that functionality by including the certification type directly within the Staff tab.

  8. When reviewing WIP for a client you can't see the title of each job without clicking in to it. Could we please make the job column wider so we can see what the job is without opening it.

    We're working on modernising the client record user interface(UI) and your idea here is being worked into this change.

    We'll first be making this available to our UK practices, with the aim of eventually expanding this to all regions. I'll be back to confirm as this starts to roll and give more detail of the change.

  9. The previous post on this one has been closed for comments, but the resolution isn't complete. The invoices are allegedly now sorting by most recent invoice number first, but it doesn't work when you go over invoice 9999 to 10000 for example, 9999 is at the top and all the 10000's are further down the page (which is significant for weekly invoiced clients).

    Also invoices transfer from current to archived when there is any payment attached to the invoice, even if it is only part paid.

  10. When XPM search finds a client, you can click the arrow > to the right of a result to view the client's name, basic contact details, enter time, etc. For clients that have a linked Xero file, it would be great to be able to click "Go to Xero" from here as well.

    Hey Chris, thanks for raising this Idea and we are excited to say that with the new PartnerHub release you will be able to click the Go to Xero option as XPM and XHQ come together in a new platform. You can find out more about the upcoming release here.

  11. When preparing 2025 financial statements in Xero, will Xero be implementing a system to allow for varying tax rates for Trust's?

    For example, 2024 Trustee tax rate at 33%, however the 2025 Trustee tax rate may be 39% or 33% depending on the Trustee Income, and if it is under $10,000.

    It would be great if Xero were to implement a system to allow for this.Otherwise, a manual work around will be required, which could create human error.

    I'm sure all tax practitioners across the country are hoping for an update from Xero.

  14. Currently, Practice Information (which contains key firm-wide settings, addresses, and details) appears to be missing a direct link in the main navigation menu (the left-hand sidebar).

    Issue: Users must navigate through multiple menus or settings screens to find and update core firm details.

    Request: Please add a clear, direct menu item for Practice Information to the main vertical menu bar for easy and immediate access.

    Implementing these changes would be a significant quality-of-life improvement for all XPM users. Thank you for considering this feature request!

    Appreciate you raising this idea about tracking time on returns within Xero Tax, Neil. It’s something that can make a difference for teams trying to manage capacity or reflect on the actual effort behind each return.

    This idea is now sitting in the gaining support stage, which means it’s open for others in the community to engage with. As more votes and comments come through, it helps the product team see where this functionality might be most impactful and what specific outcomes users are looking for.

    If there’s a particular reporting format, integration, or manual workaround you’re currently using to track this, sharing that in the comments could be really helpful. It adds valuable context and helps show how this could tie into existing practice workflows.

  17. The ATO allows businesses to claim the GST on cents per kilometre based on the business Kilometres travelled. The Milage claim in Xero currently does not have any tax category which means milage claims aren't showing on the GST reports and have to manually added to the BAS otherwise businesses are missing out on GST if not added manually.

    For example, If staff travel 100kms for business, then the claim should reflect the following
    100 kms x rate of 88cents (FY2026) totalling to $88. the $88 is inclusive of GST of $8.

    Hi Camilla👋, we understand the importance of being able to track and claim GST on business mileage and appreciate you letting us know this functionality isn't available within Xero. We know that not having this feature causes extra work to manually calculate the GST on mileage claims. While we don't have this feature at the moment, we’d like to acknowledge the workarounds of manually calculating the GST component of the mileage claim and entering this as a separate line item when processing the expense claim. We understand this isn't ideal and adds extra work, but it may help for now. We're still actively monitoring this idea to see how much support it gets from our customers 👀. As always, we'll continue to provide updates as we have them. Please continue to share your feedback and vote for the idea! ✅

  18. For annual leave, sick leave and unpaid leave - have a link between practice payroll and XPM timesheets for practice staff.

    Be able to show booked and taken leave clearly in XPM on the dashboard.

  19. Previously, checkbox options were all visible, without clicking.

    Now I have to click and see the options (extra clicks, I don't want extra clicks).

    Previously, I could click Opt Out and it would opt out... now I have to uncheck 3 x boxes (extra clicks, I don't want extra clicks). If I wanted to opt in, I could uncheck Opt Out and it would opt in... now I have to check 3 x boxes (extra clicks, I don't want extra clicks).

    What is it about making the product more efficient, not less efficient, do you not understand?

  20. Xero Tax pulls in the dates for the accounts from Companies House and assumes that the dates for the tax return will be the same. This might not always be the case - my example is due to the leap year causing problems

    I filed returns to Companies House and HMRC to include 29 Feb as the guidance suggested using my previous software. This was all accepted fine but now I am unable to file a CT600 using Xero tax because Companies House have the year starting on 29 Feb but HMRC have it on 1 Mar.
