  1. Extend the information in Xero HQ to include full client data.
    Information that would be good to see on each client information schedule would be;

    a. VAT registration date, this is required for security with HRMC so needs to be in one place when contacting them.
    b. VAT quarters (We do have clients that don’t use xero and this information is important)
    c. PAYE registration details (Not all clients use Xero payroll and equally flicking between various clients bookkeeping systems when on the phone to HMRC is a bit irritating!)
    d. UTR details for companies
    e. Tax district for Both…

  2. Currently the Client Title on a printed or downloaded tax return shows in all uppercase even though the fields in XPM & Tax are proper case. Would like this to be an option to choose so that the text is consistent eg either all uppercase or proper case.

  4. Workpapers Practice Staff Management is not integrated with XPM/HQ. User access should be manageable the XPM so that all Xero owned products Practice Staff access can be managed in one area. This would allow practices to control their staff in one place, rather than having to add and remove staff separately in the Workpapers App.

    We understand that having to manage staff access separately in Workpapers instead of in one central place like XPM or Xero HQ creates extra administrative work. Your suggestion to integrate Workpapers user management so you can control all practice staff access from a single location makes perfect sense.

  5. We've just found out to our horror that we lose access to ALL Xero historic accounts and tax filings prepared and submitted through Xero Tax for a client if the Xero sub is cancelled.
    Apparently this is because Xero needs to maintain access to the live data even for filed returns. Therefore, there has to be a process where ALL accounts and tax comps must be downloaded and stored elsewhere each year. We think that's crazy and that all filed returns should be stored in Xero Tax as PDFs. If nothing else, there should be a flag warning us! This…

    Hi everyone, appreciate raising this with us.

    Our product team has confirmed that these records are not deleted when an organisation is deleted, but they're moved into a hidden state. We're looking into how we can improve the storing of these within Xero HQ in future. If you need help with this in the meantime please contact our Xero support team via Xero Central.

  6. I’m reaching out to request assistance regarding a feature enhancement for Xero Practice Manager (XPM). Currently, XPM allows invoices to be pushed seamlessly to Xero Accounting (blue), which is incredibly helpful. However, I’ve noticed that proposals and estimates created in XPM cannot be pushed to Xero Accounting in the same way.

    I would like to request that XPM be enhanced to support the ability to push proposals and estimates directly to Xero Accounting.     Appreciate you attaching a screenshot to demonstrate your flow here, Badi. Just wanted to check as this is a public forum there's nothing sensitive in this that you wouldn't want others to see?

    Can understand why you'd like to enhance the sync of information and save time in adding these manually in Xero blue.

    Not something we have immediate plans of but we'll start collecting community interest for this through your idea and update if there are any plans made.

  7. It would be great if Xero recognised Bank term deposits or Pie deposits, and could record the interest rate, compounding periods, and calculate accruals to balance date.

    Hi Paul, thanks for sharing this idea. Being able to automatically calculate interest accruals on bank term deposits or PIE deposits within Workpapers would definitely help save time and improve accuracy across your clients.

  8. Ability to export an invoice created in Xero business edition to a document pack.

    For example, if I prepare a BAS or tax return for a client and send it to them in a document pack along with my invoice, I have to export the invoice from Xero and save it, and then add it to the document pack.

    It would be beneficial if there was an option in the invoice screen to add the invoice to a document pack, similar to adding a completed tax return from Xero Tax to a document pack.

  9. Option for 'Other allowable expenses' in the tax comp to allow the depreciation on assets purchased as a finance lease as capital allowances are not reclaimable but depreciation can be deducted.

  10. We have some companies and trusts with characters such as hyphens in their legal names. However, Xero Tax does not allow us to distribute directly to these entities due to these characters in their names.

    Our current work around is entering the beneficiaries' details manually, but then the distribution does not flow directly to the beneficiaries' returns.

    I think this may be a ATO limitation. However, in other tax programs I have used, I was able to use an alternate name so the distribution could still be directly linked to the beneficiaries return. I would like a similar feature in…

    Hi Tania, thanks for sharing this idea. We appreciate you explaining how early submission of activity statements could streamline your workflow, especially for clients with zero balances. As you know, at the moment, Xero only supports lodging activity statements for the periods as they’re issued by the ATO, and we process statements in order to align with those obligations. This approach follows ATO-provided due dates and period availability, which are fixed by the ATO and surfaced in Xero to help you stay compliant. This idea has been moved to not in Pipeline as this is not something we are looking at currently. The Idea will be open for votes though and we will keep monitoring it. Thanks again for taking the time to share your suggestion with us and the community.

  12. I learned the hard way after bulk importing 1,700 jobs on the wrong template that you could not delete those imported jobs in bulk. I spent 4 hours individually opening each job from a report and deleting.

    It would be great to use job manager to be able to select jobs (assuming they haven't got any time, costs or invoices associated with them) and delete.

  13. Put all CIPC related applications in a separate secretarial Application. Beneficial Ownership has nothing to do with Tax, and I don't do tax so can't use Gatekeeper but I advertise Beneficial Ownership a lot and use a good, priced Beneficial Ownership submission to get my foot in the door and then try sell the client on Xero. You could also look at submitting Annual Returns to CIPC out of Xero as you have the clients Company registration number as well as their turnover.

However, this suggestion and it's now marked as Not in pipeline, which means it isn't on the foreseeable roadmap at this time.   14. When I started with Xero, we had a lovely monthly Zoom call with local Xero Accounting & Bookkeeping Partner Practices. Topics would be presented, but also we would exchange ideas for best use practices and workarounds and how to leverage Xero tools. We could discuss troubleshooting and compliance, etc. It was a great way as a business owner to network with other Xero-focused practices in my area, support one another, and share information. It would be great to see these come back one day!

  15. We now have a single client record with HQ & XPM but it still does not pull through the client partner & manager from XPM and allow us to filter this way.

    We would find this feature very helpful when bulk updating client access for our team members when they start or depart.

    We also need to be able to export reports from HQ on the filters we apply. Currently even if a filter is applied the export includes all clients and columns and not what is in the filter display.

    Hi team, we appreciate your feedback and support on this idea.

    As you'll have noticed we've released our new unified client and staff experience that combines the experiences across Xero Practice Manager and Xero HQ.

    You'll find more filter and column options for the Client list.

    Though Client Partner and Client Manager aren't filters that can be added at present our product team are aware of the interest for this and will consider this enhancement as they continue to plan their roadmap. We will share any updates with you here.

  16. Create a Registered Office field in the contact details so that for client companies, we can have a quick view of physical/business, postal and registered office details. Currently, we have had to create a custom field, which you have to scroll down to the bottom of the page to view.

    We'd like to provide some clarification of what is currently possible which may help some users here, and have slightly adjusted the title with the main request being around the ability to add registered office address as a field to a Clients record.

    Within the new unified client experience you can add multiple addresses to a Contact of a Client. While there isn't a specific option for 'Registered office address' you can select 'Other address' or choose from one of the preset (Street, Postal, or Delivery) options.

    At the client level, we appreciate individual Contact addresses may differ to the Client registered office address - Our product team are now working to add registered address as a field for 'Company' type business structures and I'll return to share news of it's release with you all here.

  17. Would like the ability to see Write-ons / Write-offs on the Invoices dashboard for Draft invoices to allow easier review of drafts.

    Alternatively some form of reporting that takes draft invoices into account vs billable time to see 'draft write-ons/offs'.

  19. When drafting AIM reports in XPM, it would be helpful if you could hover over the box number and it lists the accounts that are being mapped there as opposed to changing report codes in blue Xero and continually having to update the AIM report to see if accounts are mapping correctly.

    Appreciate you raising this idea, Amy We've gone through your suggestion and taken a closer look at how things currently work.

    Right now, there isn't a built-in way to quickly view which accounts are linked to each AIM report box directly within the report. Based on your description, we understand how this would simplify the review process and reduce unnecessary steps when updating report codes.

    We’ve moved your idea to Gaining Support, which means others can now vote and add their perspective. That input really helps when our product teams are looking at what improvements to prioritise.

  20. A quick link from this years (active) workpaper pack to last years (archived) workpaper pack for this client would be so useful and save so much time. Accessing prior year (archived) workpapers is such a 🥴 workflow at present.

    Ideally this would be available on the Workpapers page (where you can see all workpapers) and take you to the same for last year, and it would be available on every individual workpaper page (and take you to that same page for last year).

    Hi team, we've been listening to your feedback and understand just how important it is to have an efficient workflow when preparing workpapers.

    As you may have heard, we've been working on a brand new Workpapers solution. This is a complete overhaul of our Workpapers offering, and we're thrilled to confirm that linking to the prior year's archived workpaper pack is on the roadmap.

    The new solution will include direct and seamless navigation between years, providing a link from the current year's workpaper pack to the previous year's archived pack for the same client. This'll save you significant time, making your compliance and review workflows much smoother. We're phasing the rollout, starting with Australia, with a global expansion to follow. I'll keep you updated here as this release widens.
