  4. In any particular Xero account, you can review the history notes (essentially an audit log), however we do not seem to have the ability to audit a particular staff member's activity across all clients.

    This would be useful if you have a particular firm employee making the same mistake across multiple reconciliations. You could see their access/activity log to know which clients you needed to review. Or if you simply needed to know every client the employee has touched in a certain timeframe.

  5. The ability to hide a Job State (eg Completed) from the quick edit selection and within editing a job, from select users would be great.
    Eliminating the possibility for a user to incorrectly move an open job to a state that should only be closed by the Admin Team.

  6. XPM Staff permission - Practice Administration Permissions: You shouldnot have to give a staff member access to the full business setting menu to be able let them access the PLS/ELS reports. There should be a PLS/ELS Management only permission.

    I want a staff member to be able to access the PLS/ELS reports without being able to access other staff member information or having access to all my practice setting.

  7. Currently we can update a clients physical/postal address and then update all those relevant in the group using the pop up 'Update relevant client addresses'. It would be so helpful and save time to be able to do this for the EMAIL address of a client.

  8. In the last financial year, we made multiple and significant layout changes to the accounting schedules in our financial notes.
    Therefore, we intend to 'Copy and Edit' most of our financial reports. However, we have found that when you 'edit layout' it removes the date field codes in our numbered notes regardless of if you edit the number notes or not - therefore losing it's auto updating feature.
    As a result, we are now having to manually update the year in all of our financials, or start from scratch.
    Please make it so edit layout does not remove date fields…

    Hey everyone, thanks again for your support in this idea. We've made more moves in this space with work now underway to make a change to how report fields work.

    We'll be making these non editable within a report once a Report field's been added and run on a report at the client level, so they maintain their auto updating capabilities.

    I'll be back again to let you know when this rolls out next year!

  9. We have staff that need to see who the biller client is for a group however we do not want them being able to see staff timesheets.

    We would like the Access Financial data tab broken up to enable staff to see the billing client.

  10. Archiving a client with a Xero Ledger/Plan seems almost too easy as there is no warning to prompt you to cancel the subscription/or remove yourself as a user - So you could end up paying for a Xero Ledger/plan indefinitely and not know.

    As an example, we discovered 20+ entities that had been archived in XPM/XeroHQ but not cancelled in Xero.

    There is currently no way to easily find out if any active ledgers/plans are on the Archived list (which thanks to the Xero Single Client Record Process we now have 3,000+ archived clients) as you

  11. I would like a tax screen similar to the jobs, where I can see clients tax return status, taxes owing and overdue returns. It would be useful to have the option to update a client's return to show as not required or Auto Assess.

  12. XPM Timesheets/Timeclock - The ability for the saved time to be ordered from the most recent time to the first time entries of the day so you can quickly see when you last entered time, as a start point. This saves a whole lot of scrolling if you have a lot of entries for the day.

  13. Improve the way clients can create accounts and log into an existing xero account.

    If we create an account for them, it asks them to put in their organisation details. Then we invite the client into the organisation, they have to accept the invitation.

    Clients are always having issues with their log ins, and signing documents. Feel this could be made easier for them.

It would be good if Xero Tax calculated the estimated PAYG instalment payable in SMSF Tax Returns as we use this to inform our clients of what amounts they are up for in the new financial year, a very important piece of information for them to consider re timing and amount of cashflow outgoings. Xero Tax does it for individuals so not sure how difficult it would be to make it apply for all entities subject to the PAYG Instalment system.

  16. The ability to bulk update staff access to client tax returns in xero tax. Currently, the only way to change staff access to certain clients in the xero tax feature is to go into each client file and change it individually. A bulk update function would be more efficient and less time consuming.

  17. Ability to bulk re-allocate invoices to different jobs and or clients.
    It would be great if you could easily re-allocate an invoice (or a cost / timesheet entry) to a different client or job. I have had cases where a clients name/entity type has changed and the recurring invoices have not been posted against the correct client in XPM (old client not new client, even though the invoice is issued under the new name in Xero). Or a client wants to be billed under different entities in a group but there is only one job so i would have to…

  18. We need to improve permissions on XPM, I want to provide permission to my managers to their staff members timesheets. The only way I can do this is to give them access is by giving them Access Financial data which really is too high for what we require.
    Only other way is to provide them with a report weekly...

  20. I've been using Xero Workpapers now for 7 years. While I find it efficient and effective, there is certainly room for minor improvements.

    Yet, despite this list of product ideas from users, it appears that Xero hasn't actually made any changes to this product in the entire time that I have used it.     Hi community, we understand wanting to hear from us around improvements for workpapers and we have some good updates coming with our new Workpapers solution!

    Some of the key enhancements you'll find in the new solution include; roll forward, direct ledger integration, granular user roles, and better collaboration tools. Once live to all we intend to continue iterating and adding enhancements to this new product.

    We've started release to our Australian partners now, with plans to release to to all regions in the new year.
