  1. I would greatly appreciate the option to easily print or download only the pages of a tax return that requires the client's signature, without including the entire document. This feature would be particularly valuable for accountants who frequently need just the signature pages from multiple tax returns. Currently, the process of manually extracting these pages using another software is quite time-consuming.

  2. We work in small teams and it would be great if we could get a "Staff" drop down added for the client set up. So we could know the partner on the account, the lead accountant/manager and the staff member that works on the file so we know who to approach for various issues :)

  3. The ability to look up client by entering their client code. Currently we have to go to groups and find the client belonging to the group. Our admin system is based on client codes and it would make it easier having the client code look up option.

  4. It would be useful to be able to email tax returns direct from XERO tax. Returns sent by XERO sign can only be viewed by a client in their entirity prior to signing if they have an ADOBE account.

  5. Update the text flags for the reconciled/completed (etc) flags in workpapers so that they change if an item is marked as complete or not (i.e. the wording changes from Not Completed to Completed once flagged). This would assist staff who are colour blind or have other vision impairments that mean that they can't see the coloured flags but instead could hover over the icon to see if an items was completed or not.

  6. Hi,
    In tax returns for clients that have a business schedule in their ITR, when an asset is fully depreciated, in the following year it disappears from the tax return and depreciation schedule altogether.

    Is there a way assets can remain on the depreciation schedule? It is very handy to have a full depreciation schedule for all assets, particularly if clients sell assets in the following years.

  7. Invoices issued from XPM need to have the ability to have payment services so that clients can click on a Pay Now button and pay the invoice immediately in order to:
    - improve cashflow by collecting monies as soon as possible
    - remove the need to push invoices into blue xero to gain access to Pay Now functionality
    - remove double handling of invoices that practice staff originate in XPM and then operations staff have to issue from blue Xero. Practice staff should be able to manage practice invoices without having to involve operations staff.

  10. Have a separation of Client Edit privileges to allow practice staff to edit Contacts, Groups, and Relationships without having full edit access (e.g. will not be able to edit client address, email address, Agent, etc)

Recent new requirements from the ATO mean that businesses have to nominate new BAS and tax agents via ATO Online Services for Business, before the Agent can add them on their end (on ATO Client Services for Agents). This requires the tax payer to have set up MyGovID, gone into RAM and log into ATO Online Services for Business. The majority of clients have no idea how to do any of this. It would be good, if there was a way that they could nominate the Agent from Xero instead. Perhaps the linking of the Xero file to the ATO…

  13. Xero Practice Manager Timesheet upload. We have staff that complete the same administrative tasks each day every week for up to 50 clients a day. Entering these times in XPM is extremely time consuming and the time spent rarely changes. It would be extremely useful to be able to import a timesheet template with set clients/tasks/times. Then they only have to make modifications to timesheets. This would reduce time entry burden by two or three hours per week.

  15. Improve the look of the client signatures on document packs. Particularly with the financial statements, it includes a date and a name but this already is present on the document.

    If we could have different elements for name, signature and date that would make it look clearer.

  16. We are getting an increasing amount of (sometimes angry) pushback from clients where when we add Administrators to our HQ account, they are automatically given full permissions over any linked client Xero files, as well as all our ledger files. We are a large firm with over 15 Administrators.
    Please give us the ability to CHOOSE, if we want to add all administrators to all files.
    OR
    Create an administrator role that doesnt need to add them as a USER to each client file.

    Imagine you have a Xero file for your own personal business, and suddenly notice 13 people…

    Hi team, we understand and appreciate the concerns around permission sets and giving staff access to clients. The Xero Partner Hub will introduce new permissions with more granularity to control what your staff can see and access within client files. These permissions will be independent of the practice role and can be assigned to anyone.

    The Admin role will continue to have automatic access to practice owned orgs, however you may like to consider whether existing staff still need this permission or if they can instead be given the Standard role with additional permissions for managing Clients or Staff. I'll return to share as this goes live. Thanks

    I would like for Xero to automatically calculate the VAT returns accurately when switching from a VAT scheme to another. Currently, we need to manually adjust the returns to avoid any duplications caused by the transition. There is room for a lot of human error when doing this and I believe this feature is extremely important.

  19. It doesn't make sense that these are part of the same privilege checkbox.
    Marking something as Approved is something that a senior person (manager/partner) is responsible for.
    Marking something as Out to Sign is something that an administration person is responsible for.
    Options are:
    Give the admin person the privilege and they can approve something they shouldn't be able to (risk to firm).
    Not give the admin the privilege and the manager has to log back into Xero Tax to mark it as out to sign after the admin person has packaged it up and sent it out (waste of…

  20. The entire workpapers function is inefficient and burdensome. It would be much better to have packs carry forward when creating new packs so that you don't have to add all the notes and work papers back each time. When you roll a work paper pack, having to check & uncheck all the irrelevant sections is a waste of time that would also be alleviated by just being able to roll the prior period pack. The ability to use excel sheets with linked data to the accounts in Xero would be greatly beneficial. Another aggravating and time consuming issue is not…

    Hi team! We're happy to announce that the ability to roll forward existing workpaper packs, URL's and Notes is coming with our new Xero Workpapers. This new solution leverages permanent documents, and has improved data preservation to help minimise the manual rework each year, and get a head start with rolling over key information from previous years.

    We're planning ongoing enhancements to this new solution to ensure your workflow is robust and intuitive. We're starting release to our Australian partners now, and other regions will have access from early 2026. We'll keep you updated as the launch for this goes wider.
