  1. Ability to customise the mapping of the workpaper hotlinks!

    The hotlink feature in workpapers is pretty neat in that it will automatically link in the relevent reports however this could be even more powerful with some very minor teaks.

    Firstly the new style reports would be a good start for replacement but what would be even better then this is the ability to amend the hotlink reports for clients either on a by client or practise level... i.e. if we had the ability to link in customised reports instead of just having the transaction report linked in - I know…

  2. When a business incorporates we cannot add the date of incorporation and therefore cannot print reports for the first year correctly without further work. For first year accounts can you look to make it so that we can have an extended first year

  3. Have a multi tick box option for custom fields to be able to select more than one option.
    i.e. we are a multi disciplinary accounting firm and offer multi different services such as advisory, tax, bookkeeping etc and won't to be able to identify what the client has engaged us for [frequently it's more than one service]

  4. Custom task rate - although the charge out rate can be amended for individual tasks for a member of staff, there is no "from" date that can be specified so it is applied to all un-invoiced WIP. It would therefore be very useful to be able to have the ability to put in a date from when the new rate should be applied.

  6. There used to be a tab where we could check which of our clients hadn't filed their GST returns on time, this has been removed, can you please bring it back as we now have no way of checking if we or our clients have missed filing a return.

    Hi Debbie, the 'waiting approval' report only contains unapproved letters. And the field you've references would only contain payments 'since approval' so even if included, would always be 0.00.

    Could you share a little detail of any underlying pain point you're looking for this idea to help you solve? It'd help in sharing back with the team and considering how this could be tackled. Thanks!

  8. Why do we need to have all of the 'Z do not use' sections appear when setting up a new pack that then need to be unticked? It would be better to have them unticked in the first place

  10. Failed Activity Statements appear to be unable to be cleared so continue to sit as an action item.

    Need to have mechanism to clear as lodged rather than having continue to sit as an item needing action forever.

  11. When preparing personal tax return on Xero, I accidentally edited the field "Your spouse's assessable income" in Spouse tab and now it's labeled as "edited"

    It could be great if I can undo the 'edit' so the field can automatically generate data from spouse's return like how it was

  12. Is consolidation of company group structures - parent & subsidiaries - involving holding companies , inter-company transactions , on the tax filing roadmap for development?
    If so, would this also include VAT group filings?

    Reviving this topic again as I've gone into Property and wanted to implement a group structure, how does Xero best deal with this structure interacting with subsidiaries within the group structure and for the purpose of consolidated accounts? Is Xero Tax also enabled for filing group company accounts?

  13. Would love to see features to the group profile. Even if they were custom tabs from the business settings (so it applies to all groups). Some ideas are:

    1. Group information - could be a list of the clients and their partner, manager, class, etc (would be great if each firm could select what client details they want to include from their business settings).

    2. Client Fees - could use this section to add services, fees and notes for each client, and then have this total per service, client and group. This way you can update on the go and see the…

  14. Xero Sign

    Often I send husband and wife docs to sign.

    If we put the wife to sign their return, the husband cannot see it in the pack.

    This might have been some privacy idea but think in terms of a real physical meeting, you have both pwople checking both, or if you post, both check both. It makes sense they both unde4stand each other.

    So ability to see everything in the pack would be good.

    Current workaround is I put the return in the pack a 2nd time with no spots to sign, so the other person can see…

    Thank you for your engagement with this idea, we know that some of you are interested in the ability to add appointers to the IR6 return. ATM power of appointment can’t be filed electronically, this is a restriction imposed by IRD. The information can be recorded in contacts if appropriate but it can't be used in the tax module unless IRD change their rules.

  16. Improving XPM Workflow Capabilites with Seperate & Specific Job States & Automation Triggers

    Seperate set of state for different job templates/workflows. XPM currently only has one set of job states. there should be the ability to have multiple for different jobs. These states should also be able to be transferred into a kanban board view and when the job state is changed either by drag & drop or dropdown certain automated actions should be triggered such as automated emails or deploying client or internal forms to be completed etc. At the moment the XPM's workflow capabiliteis are extremely limited.

  17. Problem: Xero connected to the ATO for activity statements. Client prepares monthly IAS (PAYGW only), Adviser prepares quarterly BAS (GST and one month's PAYGW). Adviser has to disconnect from ATO to finalise BAS in Xero and import into Xero Tax (to be able to send to the client for electronic signing and then making lodgement to the ATO).

    Solution: make it possible to finalise the AS in Blue Xero without disconnecting from the ATO, allowing Client to continue submitting IAS to ATO from within Xero and Adviser to import into Xero Tax to send for e-signing and lodgement.

    Hey team, just wanted to give you a quick update on this idea that's been in "Under review" for a bit.

    While we did explore this further, we unfortunately had to put it on hold for now. We totally get how improving these connections would help you here.

    It is still on our radar, and as soon as we can dedicate more focus to it, I'll share any news and progress with you.

  18. When completing employment earnings and benefits from Xero Payroll into Xero Tax, it would be really useful to have the two linked. This reduces repetitive tasks and reduces input error.

    Hi Michelle - thank you for raising. We can definitely see how this would help. I've checked with our Product team and this is something that is not currently on our immediate roadmap. However, we will continue to monitor this. In the meantime, we are in the process of adding integration with HMRC to pull employment data for all individuals.

  19. Removal of 'completed' jobs from the job list when preparing an invoice in XPM.

    Sometimes we invoice a parent client with multiple entities jobs appearing and this can be very hard to navigate when looking for current jobs to invoice - even if the status is marked to be invoiced. It would be more efficient if completed jobs just didn't appear in the list.

Contacts grouping - When exporting clients to a CSV file, being able to see which clients are allocated to which group, I've assigned a group (there's about 8 different groups in total) to 2/3 of my 1500 client list, but now have to sift through 1 by 1 allocate a group to the remaining clients.
