  1. It would be handy to be able to customize the view screen on the contacts screen within Xero. Ie add additional columns - a payment column? It would be a lot easier to have a visual of payments received rather than having to click on the invoice or run a statement against the client to see when payment was last received / paid. It would also be handy to have an item column that includes payments. As well as an option to reconfigure the column order, Ie. Date in first column.

  2. FINTECH requires Xero’s Contact ID for integration, but the Contact ID isn’t included in the contact export. They must be manually copied from the URL, which is slow and error prone.

  3. While we can add an image to a Customers Record, there is no abiliity to see that image when inquiring on that customers record. A thumbnail instead of Initals would be useful, similar to gmail.

  4. Customer statements to show on the contacts tab when sent - I can see in history & notes on the file tab on a contact that a statement was sent but it would be great if it was possible to click a link here to see the statement that was sent to the customer (rather ticking to send statement to own e-mail)

  6. Xero already scans invoices to create drafts, which is a huge time-saver.

    Extending this capability to receipts would add even more value.

    Specifically, if receipts sent to a Xero mailbox could be scanned and automatically matched to the right transaction, it would save significant manual effort, reduce errors, and streamline reconciliation. This small enhancement could have a big impact on efficiency for businesses handling large volumes of receipts.

  7. The Contacts listing in Xero shows amount owing on left and amount receivable on right, it would be more 'readable' to accountants if it were the other way around:

    They Owe - left side / debit / current asset
    You Owe - right side / credit / current liability

    Thanks for sharing your idea about how you'd like the "You Owe" and "They Owe" columns to be the other way around.


    It's worth noting that the current orientation matches the Spent/Received columns in the Reconcile tab of the bank account. You might like to raise a separate product idea if you'd also like a similar change there (or maybe an option to swap the columns around).

  9. We tag documents for organisation in Hubdoc, but have no visibility of these in Xero, which makes no sense. These don't need to be editable, but it would make sense that it showed what tags were on an invoice. Even if this was detailed in the history of the invoice. This would be a massive time-saver!

  10. Make archiving and restoring contacts more intuitive and user-friendly.

    Option for archiving contacts should be select from drop-down menu or click on "the 3 dots" and select.

    Having to find an historical invoice allocated to an archived contact in order to restore them is super-unhelpful and counterintuitive. MUCH better to include archived contacts in Contacts options and include a "Restore" option via "press and hold", drop-down or the 3 dots.

    Hi Bradley, have you tried archiving and restoring contacts from the Contacts list? From here simply select the contact/s you'd like to archive and you'll see the option at the top of the list turn blue for you to click.

    When you'd like to restore a contact you'll find the Archive tab as an option from this same screen, where you can click on the contact to open it's record and there is a blue Restore option in the top right.

  11. I would love to link the practice to Instagram for clients to find us. I have more followers there than FB. I also get more inquiries from IG.

    While it's not currently possible to add your Instagram link to your advisor listing on xero.com, you could add your Xero advisor listing URL from xero.com to add to your Instagram page.

    We don't have direct plans for adding more social link options to Xero advisor listings atm, but we'd like to get a sense of the community support for this that our product team can consider.

  12. Hubdoc User roles - it would be incredibly helpful if upload only users were able to view (not edit or add) tags from a common list. We have 17 staff who have company visa's I'm wanting to use Hubdoc for them to be able to upload their visa receipts & invoices instead of having them manually sent to me the following month for coding and entering.

    I've set up the tags with the descriptions of the GL codes, however I've found that they are unable to view or use these tags without setting them up themselves. Having a communal list…

  13. Hubdoc tag organization
    It would be extremely useful to be able to group or nest tags within Hubdoc. When there are 20+ tags in use, managing the list of tags becomes unwieldy. The ability to organize the tags within groups would allow more streamlined document management. This is especially important for clients that have been using Hubdoc for several years and have organized thousands of documents using Hubdoc tags, but for whom the majority of documents are being stored for archival reasons.   14. Currently this only shows over a 12 month period when in all cases I'd like to see how well each customer or supplier has performed against the same month last year.

    At worst could this not simply be a 15 month graph (as if it were 13 then the previous month/previous year would drop of when everything was in by the beginning of the following month?

    • at best could you select filters to compare even the past 3 years by month etc...

  15. A contrast function for Hubdoc. Often mobile phone scanned receipts do not have enough contrast and apart from the crop function which is being discussed a contrast function would improve usability.

  16. Naturally, when emailing in invoices and receipts, we end up with extraneous items in the Docs Pane on the left hand side. To delete these, we currently only have a small 'delete' button in the far top right corner, followed by a confirmation message in the centre of the screen.

    It'd be great if the UI was updated to have either:
    - a delete button closer to the Docs Pane on the left hand side
    - some right click functionality, to allow us to delete documents
    - some keyboard shortcuts to allow us to process these items much quicker

  18. There are three documents that we are often chasing clients for as accountants in order to do accounts or self assessments -
    - Loan statements which show the year-end balances and the interest amounts (for example on the bounce-back loans).
    - Bank statements which show the year-end balance to check the accounting software pulled in all the data correctly.
    - Mortgage Interest statements (for self-employed clients who work from home or landlords on their self-assessments).

    1. Add a running total column for outstanding invoices/bills in contact activity

    2. An option to switch between the base currency and the billing currency (on the below screenshot). This will provide a view of the outstanding amount to be paid in the selected currency.

  19. Have an area in the contact card to opt out of the remittance advice for that supplier. This will save the time in unticking suppliers that never want remittance advice every time a batch payment is made.
