  1. New Xero files - add option to return to the old way of viewing bills that had been uploaded?

    I often log in to 80-100 bills that have been uploaded into files for me to add to a clients xero. Until the recent changes you could click on the oldest one and then scroll through each one viewing them full screen whilst working on another screen to add the information to a bill in xero. Now when you click on the file it opens in a much smaller box on the far side of the screen and you can't scroll…

    Thanks for sharing your idea, and letting us know the changes that matter most for you. We've reviewed your idea and now it's up to the community to get behind and support it. While that exact group view isn't available in the new design, we have a helpful trick: we recommend you try expanding the side view of the file so it fills up most of your screen. When you do that, you'll be able to quickly jump between files just by hitting the Tab and Enter keys on your keyboard. If you run into any trouble with this or need more help, please don't hesitate to reach out to our support team :)

  2. I use Auto Tax. Be nice to go into contacts and select that as a default for contacts, where appropriate. Rather having to go to the drop down (in Invoices) each time.

  3. Add an attach files button to all bank entries on the bank account transaction page. The button is omitted when a receipt is made up of invoice and credit notes or payment adjustment. The button is required to add the clients remittance advice.

  5. Can we please have an option to run a report for contacts incl Suppliers for example, where we can then audit new suppliers for a time period. Links into other ideas posted here to also see last active/used date. Similiar to the account transaction reports but to be able to run one for Contacts/suppliers would be super helpful for audits. Currently xero does not support any such thing, only the history & notes which is basically useless as it does not have the capacity to show or export more than 1000 entries, so when we do more than that in…

    Hi Emma , thanks for sharing your feedback and idea. For tracking payable transactions (bills) by contact, we suggest using the Supplier Bill Activity Report or filtering the Account Transactions Report by contact and payable invoices. If you require setup assistance, please raise a case with our support team for guidance.Regarding the 'last active/used date' feature: This functionality is not currently available in Xero. We have moved your idea to the Gaining Support section.We encourage you to share this idea with others to help build traction for its development.

  6. Hubdocs does this - it extracts the Supplier, date and amount and saves an uploaded document using these values as the file name.

    When reviewing a document in Xero, it would be helpful to have a optional tick box, to Automatically rename files.
    e.g. when you click Create Transaction it is renamed when it gets saved to a folder.

  7. Most of our receipt uploads are treated as spend money, using our main bank account.
    Every time I review a receipt I have to select the document / transaction type and the bank account used.
    Having a default with the option to change it would be good, or simply remember the last used values.

  8. Provide a way for an uploaded document to be assigned to tracking categories.
    Due to screen space I suggest an icon which opens a pop up selector.

    Currently to assign a category to tracked items means re-opening and re-editing the transaction.

  9. It would be great if the new smart document capture could link the bill that's being created to a purchase order. At the moment the only way to do this is to copy the purchase order to the bill. All our bills have to be linked to the PO's so not being able to do this in the new document capture tool makes it useless.

    Great to hear you're finding the Smart document capture useful, Ruby. This feature is still in rollout, but I'm pleased to share that the ability to create bills through this feature will be coming shortly.

  10. Standard customer and supplier onboarding templates that can be sent directly from Xero to new customers and suppliers. Then the completed document can then be imported into Xero reducing the time to capture new contacts into the customer and supplier databases in Xero.

  11. Xero currently does not identify a contact as a duplicate if the contact has been archived and another one is being created with the same name.

    Some people have thousands of contacts so this isn't something that we can manually check before we create a new contact.

    It would be much better if Xero advised you that there was an archived contact with the same name when you are creating a new contact - then we could just restore the previous contact, and all of our purchases (or sales) would be in the same correct contact. This would also improve…

Abilty to log into APP with different email address (not the alias option) for people who work at different organisations they are very protective of what email address they will send paperwork to and have control of with privacy and control. Therefore the app needs to allow multiple logins with different emails address rather than the alias option as this will not be accepted by alot of businesses.

  14. In the transaction lists in a client, having the ability to add "account" column to see what expense account a Spend Money is associated with, or the income account a Receive Money is recorded to.

  15. I have many clients so it is time consuming to go to each client organisation and into Files just to check whether there are new uploads. It would be great to have a dashboard in Xero HQ that showed how many items were in a clients Xero Files inbox. Or at least get notified when a client has uploaded to the Files inbox.

  16. There is this "Add Text" option on the document view in the Files Section. But there does not seem to be any was to save a Text you add on the File. Then what does this menu actually intend to? If you have the option to save the Text, any additional comment could be made on the document.

  18. It doesn't appear to be possible to Remove attached files from a transaction and save it back to Xero Files. I found it to be a useful function. Would it be possible to add it back again? Also it would be really useful to be able to Search on documents in Xero Files.
