Expense report - Ability to export with attached files
I need the ability to be able to print an expense report to provide to a client that includes all of the supporting documentation. All of the receipts are captured via Xero Expenses app but I can't print a report that includes them. To provide that information to my client...I had to screen shot every receipt and them insert them into a Word document. This isn't a workable solution. Please add this report.

Reporting - Balance sheet b/f line for charity accounts where funds span multiple years
Where funds span multiple financial years it would be good to be able to add a brought forward fund balance (balance sheet item) the the P&L fund report (income & expenditure for charities where tracking categories are used for the funds) so that the charity has full visibility of the fund available - last FY brought forward + net amount for this FY = total fund till available

Reports: Bookmarkable link to reports
Currently when using the new reports, bookmarking a page in Xero will take us to the specific organisation that the bookmarked screen was in.
But when using the old reports, bookmarking a page in Xero for example Balance Sheet for the year ended 30/06/2022, when i click on the bookmark link it will bring me to the Balance Sheet for the year ended 30/06/2022 for whichever organisation i am working on. This makes it easy when i'm looking at multiple entities.
Since Xero is phasing out the old reports, can you please bring this feature into the new report?

Thanks for all your feedback on this idea.
As you’ve found, users could bookmark reports and that bookmark would work across organisations. However, this caused some strange behaviour when navigating between organisations in bookmarked reports.
By including a unique Organisation ID in the the new report URLs, the data displayed is consistent with the organisation the report was bookmarked in. The result is that users can navigate away from a bookmarked report, without Xero updating the organisation.
To be transparent here, this was a deliberate change, and there are no plans to re-implement book-markable links to reports.

Custom payroll reports
It would be good if payroll reports could be customised, i.e. after making a change to an existing report, such as Gross To Net report, the new template could be saved as a Custom Report.
At the moment, it isn't possible to save the updated format, so I have to make the same changes to the standard report every month.

Xero's payroll reports do currently offer some options to adjust columns, filters & layout. However we hear & understand the need for having additional information & more flexibility with payroll reporting, including the ability to customise & save reports for future use.
Being open here, these improvements are not in our current pipeline. However we'll use this feedback to shape how we plan future improvements in Xero Payroll reports.

Reports - Journal Entry on the Accounting menu
Please put a menu item under the Accounting Menu for Journal Entry. I don't like having to run a report just to go to manual journals or to add a new journal. Just put "New Journal" under the advanced sub menu under accounting. If you are concerned about the average bookkeeper making journal entries, allow the ability for the admin to dictate which menu items are shown for different users.

Reporting - Ability to add a summary of fixed assets to an existing report
Currently fixed asset reports have to be run separately and there is no ability to add these into an existing report like the notes to the financial statements. It is reasonably standard to include a table in the notes that summarises cost, depreciation charged, accumulated depreciation and net book value for both the current year and the year prior.
Requesting the functionality to pull this data from Xero into a report, rather than either having to run two separate fixed assets reports (one for each year) or a manual table where figures are typed in and manually added.

Invoice Reminders Report - Date and email sent to
Provide a report on who the automated invoice reminders have been sent out to, to know when the final reminder has gone out and payments not made can then be chased manually.

General Ledger (detailed) - Quantity column
Hi there, would be awesome to be able to have a column in the detailed general ledger which has the quantities from what you entered in the quantity column when you reconcile the transactions. This is especially important when figured is used with Xero. As it takes a lot of time to go into each transaction and see what the stock quantities are to get the group total.
56 votesHi everyone, we hear your feedback about how viewing quantity within the General Ledger report could help when reviewing transactions. While not specifically within the General Ledger there are a few different reports that can currently be run and may help with this review;
- Inventory Item Details – view quantity on hand of tracked inventory items
- Inventory Item Summary – see quantities purchased and sold for all items, including opening, closing, and adjusted quantities for tracked items
- Sales by Item report – shows quantities sold for inventory items
- Payable Invoice Details report – shows quantities purchased for all line items
- Receivable Invoice Details report – shows quantities sold for all line items
We’ve reviewed this idea but want to be upfront that there aren’t plans in the near term to add quantity as a column to the General Ledger Detailed report.
We’ll keep an eye on the interest this idea…

Reporting - Saved customised report layout across common formats
Been trailing the new reports format and when setting up a custom group account layout for a Profit and Loss report we can't use this layout across Common Formats of Profit and Loss. This feature was available in the old reports that once a custom layout was created it worked on all formats. Been advised that would need to create a separate custom report for every Common Format

Reporting - Include transactions and their project details
A report to show transactions that have been posted including the account code and the projects that the transactions have been assigned to with data parameters.
We reconcile the sales, direct costs and gross profit amounts from the project summary report to the same amounts in the profit and loss report but currently there is no way to identify differences when they arise. The above report will really be helpful!

Reports - Add "Transaction Modified Date" column in Reports
In Account Transactions reports, you should be able to add a column for "modified date". This would be extremely helpful when reconciling between information submitted to HMRC and the information in the nominal. I am no QuickBooks fan, but this is one feature that they have that Xero does not.

Analytics plus - Include bills with future dated payments in STCF projection
Short term cash flow projection, please can you update it to show bills with future dated payments?
Once our suppliers bills are in for the month, we often set bank payments up for them for their due date so that we don't' have to keep remembering to make payments. If we mark them up with a future payment date, they are removed from the cashflow forecast. It would make much more sense if they appeared in the cashflow on the date they have been set to pay.8 votesHi everyone, thanks for your feedback on this idea. Reporting - Bring back ability to highlight text in main report area
A while ago before an update, when working on a set of accounts in Blue Xero, there was an option to 'highlight text' from the main screen of the report, but this was changed to make it so you had to go to 'edit layout' in order to be able to highlight text yellow.
It would be so great if we could have this feature back on the main page as it was so much more user friendly. I would suggest in the area next to the bold/italics/underline/bullet points area which is where it used to be.

Reporting - Rollover current/GST account codes to Opening Balance account
Would like to see Current Account codes rollover each year to an Opening Current Account Balance (same with GST codes, Tax codes, HP's, Bank loans) - like P&L items do to Retained Earnings code. And show the Opening Balance on the Trial Balance.
Currently Xero Trial Balance shows Current Account codes (& all of the above codes) with accumulated Opening Balance & current year movement.
However the report formatting in the advisor standard reports appears to be driven off movements in the current year (so we can't journal the closing balances from last year to an opening balance code -…9 votes -
Accounting Data - Option to select what to export
General Ledger export from Xero file. Currently when you export the general ledger transactions from Xero and import into MYOB (which we use MYOB AO for our year end Financials) the transactions are the full audit history of the Xero transactions not just what shows in a general ledger report. If transactions have been edited in any way this creates multiple additional entries and reversals to sift through in MYOB. It would be great to have the option to exclude the audit history transactions and just have what shows in the general ledger report.

Reports - Sort Activity Statement "Transactions by Rate" by account code
The ability to sort Activity Statement "Transactions by Rate" report by 'account code'. This makes the detailed report much easier to review and pick up mistakes. MYOB has always had this function and it is a good time saver. Much easier to look through the report

User Role - Ability to share a published report with users
Every month I publish, export and share reports with certain individuals. I would like to do this within Xero. I set up users who can have "View published reports" access. When I publish a report I can then select that report and choose which of these users I wish to share it with. The user is notified, can login to Xero and is then presented with a list of published reports that have been shared with them. It keeps all the functionality native to Xero.

Account transaction report | Grouping - Ability to show opening & closing balances
Reporting - Account Transactions - Group by Contact Group - Aged Receivable Transactions
When I run the Account Transactions new report with Grouping as Contact Group, the option to add opening and closing balances is blocked. Is it possible to enable this so that we can use the report in lieu of a monthly activity statement for the Group.
