Hi everyone, thanks for all of your engagement with this idea. We appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts on being able to claim previous year's employment allowances in Xero.
We understand this would save time and provide a more complete payroll solution.
As noted by others in this thread, the current workaround is to process prior year claims using HMRC's Basic PAYE Tools.
We've reviewed our upcoming development roadmap, and at this time building the functionality to process prior year Employment Allowance claims is not in our immediate pipeline.
We will keep this idea under consideration for future development, and should our plans change, we will provide an update here.

This is a common problem, and is easily fixed in other software providers.

Hi team, thanks for the support and interest this idea has gained. Though we appreciate the value auto calculating VAT using the marginal scheme would be for those that need it, we want to be transparent here that this isn't in our roadmap.
Currently, it's possible to adjust VAT on invoices and credit notes - If you set the transaction to Amounts are 'Tax exclusive' and make sure the Tax Amount column is shown you'll be able to click into this field and edit the amount as needed for each line of your invoice - we have more detail on this in Xero Central.

Hi everyone, thanks for sharing how important streamlining P45 distribution is for your payroll workflow.
It’s not currently possible to send P45’s directly from Xero. Our product team is actively exploring ways to enhance employee self-service features. While specific plans for this feature are not yet finalised for the immediate roadmap, this area remains a key focus for future development. We've moved this idea to Accepted.
We'll keep you posted if anything changes. In the meantime, you can download P45s from Xero and send them via your usual email software.

Appreciate your input here, everyone. Our team is aware of the challenges our partners are facing around the auto-reversal of negative balance. It’s on their roadmap to investigate and provide a better user experience.
For the time being, I’ll move this idea into ‘Under review’ status. And when there's movement, we'll make sure to come back here and let you all know.

Thanks for the feedback and great to hear the use you find in repeat templates in Xero.
While there's no way to bulk update templates atm, you may find updating your templates through export & import of invoices more helps quicken things up?
You could export invoices that have been generated from your template to CSV, update the amounts in the exported file, and then re-import.
This will create 'Draft' invoices in your Xero org from which you can create a Repeat template and then delete the draft. 🙂

Our client has just gone VAT registered, and needs to add VAT to 150+ repeating invoices - got to break the news to him that he will have to do them all individually.

Hi everyone, thanks for sharing your feedback. We appreciate you explaining how important access to reports on draft pay runs is for your workflows, especially for client approvals and pre-submission checks.
Our product team is currently looking into payroll reporting improvements as part of a wider review, however adding additional reports to draft pay runs is not something that’s on their foreseeable roadmap.
Currently you can download payslips, P32 and Payroll Activity Details/Summary reports from draft pay runs. These provide a breakdown of employee earnings and employer liabilities, which can be used for pre-checks before submitting your pay run to HMRC.
Please continue to support other ideas, as this helps our product teams know what's important to you.

Hi everyone, thanks for the feedback on a having a Remuneration report in UK Payroll.
We’re currently rolling out a new Remuneration report that brings key employee information together in one place, including Pay frequency, Rate and Annual salary.
You’ll see it become available in UK Payroll as the rollout progresses.
Appreciate your patience and for continuing to share your thoughts.

Hi everyone, thanks for your feedback and supporting this idea.
Good news! We’re currently rolling out an update to Xero Payroll (UK) that will let payroll admins see when payslips have been sent to employees. This should make it easier to confirm sends and provide added confidence when reviewing pay runs.
We’re releasing this progressively, so if you don’t see it yet, it’ll be arriving in your org soon.
Thanks again for your patience and for sharing how this would help your workflows — we appreciate the input and ongoing support.

It would be useful to be able to print a gross to net payroll summary before posting the payroll.
We prepare payroll for clients and they don't really like to detailed report as it is long-winded, but like to see a summary of each employee's gross to net pay to check before confirming that they are happy for us to post the pay run.

We always send draft to client to check before posting the pay run. They tend to pay the staff and then tell us it's OK to post. Embarassing to then have to go back to them to say they've overpaid because someone has been auto enrolled.....
