Hi everyone, to give a bit more detail from our status update a few months ago - The ability to copy to a bill is a feature that the team will be building into the new invoicing experience. They have a few items on their agenda and I want to be open that this is not planned to be delivered until after the sunset of classic invoicing.
For the time being, you'll find you can still copy to a new invoice, quote, purchase order or bill from the invoices list view.
You can get a bit more of an understanding of what's coming from our Xero central page. When there's more news on copy to a bill I'll share this, here.

Appreciate your feedback on how you'd like to see new invoicing improved to create more efficiency processing sales with Xero. There are a couple of different requests around defaults looped into this one idea that would be good to unpick and keep separate so we can keep you updated on any progress for each individually.
For interest around being able to set a default for the 'Approve and Send' button - There's an idea that's been started for this here that I'd recommend joining.
Kathy, your recent comment sounds more like the ability to be able to send invoices to a contact group with new invoicing - we totally get the interest in this too and have an idea for this here that you can follow.
Taking on board feedback we have made a change with the new send experience so now, selections for 'Include PDF of invoice' and 'Send…Collis Marrett supported this idea · -

Hi everyone, to keep you updated on this idea work in this space will provide the ability to add a new blank row to your invoice one at a time. Once added you'll also have the ability to drag and drop the row to where you'd like it placed in your invoice, which we know some customers use to help format their invoices and space lines out.
I appreciate that some customers have mentioned wanting to add multiple blank rows at once, and want to be open that this isn't planned with this release.
Being under development atm, we plan to have this to you all before classic invoicing is retired and I'll be back as soon as it's out to let you know, here.

Hi everyone, as another step toward improving history of new invoicing you'll find you'll now see an entry when an invoice is sent, and the email address it has been sent to.
We appreciate this is something we've heard a fair amount of feedback on and we hope helps in your journey to using new invoicing.
We still have more enhancements on the way for history and I'll be back again when more updates land.

Thanks for all your feedback here, everyone. The way you add description only lines in new invoicing is a little different to classic and we wanted to explain in hopes it'll help with how you're using new invoicing.
When entering a description only line, you can enter text in the description field of the line. If you add detail to any other field the line will be treated as a 'financial' line and you will need to include Qty, Unit price, Account and Tax rate.
When an inventory item is added this uses the item code field and the line is treated as 'financial', so it's not possible to use inventory items as description only lines in new invoicing atm.
We appreciate this is how many of you here have been making use of inventory and our product team are closely monitoring the feedback we're getting on this. Though we don't…Collis Marrett supported this idea · -

Hi everyone, some time on since my last update I wanted to give you more of an idea of the work we have going on to help reduce the number of steps and actions in new invoicing. Along with the changes mentioned in my last update, we've since released a change to the view of an invoice to shift details back into their own columns (similar to classic), while a small change we know it's improved visibility for some of our customers.
We also have other work in development atm that’ll further help here like a new line item grid when editing your invoice - wrapped up in this we’ll be introducing changes you’ve been asking for like the ability to create a new tracking option or account code without having to navigate away from the invoice, we’re increasing the number of items that you can view from the drop…

Hi community, we appreciate you engaging and letting us know the importance of drag and dropping files into your invoices.
Since the release of the attach files feature within new invoicing our teams have being paying close attention to feedback and understand the efficiency you need in this process.
This is something our team are looking to make improvements for and we'll shift the idea to working on it. As this develops I'll keep you updated of news and provide more detail through the idea, here.

Hi team, thank you for all your feedback. We're in the process of developing the edit view of the line item grid within new invoicing and will be incorporating the ability to manually add a row and the ability to move blank rows within the invoice. Once released blank lines will be able to be saved within the invoice so you can separate lines or groups of lines as you need. I'll keep you updated on when this goes live.

Thanks to everyone that participated in and shared back on the team’s research in the new invoicing layout. Taking your feedback on board our teams have made some improvements to the layout of new invoicing, including changes to the layout of fields and buttons.
By rearranging and condensing space between fields, you’ll find there is less white space than previously shown, making it easier to navigate and tab through fields when entering your invoices. We’re actively looking into changes within the invoicing grid that’ll go further to condensing information on the screen and reducing actions when entering your invoices. We’ll update as there is more information to share on this.

An error occurred while saving the comment Collis Marrett commentedAgree with all the comments here. A simple basic function that is standard on your competitors equivalent products, and a reason to choose them over Xero. Sub accounts is hardly reinventing the wheel, should not be an issue to implement.

Hi Belinda, to check in on your idea here are you looking for similar to the Pay History report that allows you to search the employee versus drop down and select as you do in the Leave Transactions report?
An error occurred while saving the comment Collis Marrett commentedOr perhaps an alternative would be to make it so that when you return to the employee list, you return to the next employee on the list from which you just left, instead of returning right back to the very first employee on the list every time.

Hi Zoe, thanks for sharing an image of the comparison in XPM. Would this be particularly for when you're running the management reports or another set of reports from Xero?
Collis Marrett supported this idea ·An error occurred while saving the comment Collis Marrett commentedI can't believe you have to save a report in a file location EVERY SINGLE TIME just to simply view or print it??? This is one of the most basic features that ALL of your competitors provide. It is EXTREMELY inconvenient, as not only do we have to waste time saving a PDF that should simply be displayed on the screen, but we also have to waste more time deleting all these files once finished. Why have you made this simple process so user unfriendly? How can you possibly think that this is somehow more environmentally sustainable when all the customer wants to do is simply view it on screen 90% of the time. And if they want to print the document they're going to do it anyway? All you have done is made a very simple process into an unnecessarily long one for no reason at all. Not happy!

We appreciate wanting to see more rapid movement, everyone. Having done a lot of exploration into this area our team have a good handle on the needs to solve this, however we want to be honest that development will be some time away with the team currently focused on improving bills list views and updating add/edit bill pages. For the time being to keep you up to date we're going to move this idea back to Submitted until more active work takes place for this.
I can assure you this idea is the best place to be leaving feedback for this feature, and Xero Product Ideas as a whole is the best place to be sharing where you'd like to see change across Xero products. As a community team we're advocating on your behalf constantly to see where ideas can be worked on, and this site is where our product…
An error occurred while saving the comment Collis Marrett commentedAfter reading the comments on this thread, what I don't understand is why Xero even bothers with this forum. It's very clear they don't want to listen to their customers. Time to start looking at alternative suppliers methinks.

An error occurred while saving the comment Collis Marrett commentedMany suppliers only accept payment by BPAY on their invoices these days. At present BPAY invoices can only be paid one at a time, which makes the process of paying BPAY bills an unnecessarily time consuming process compared to paying batch payments with direct credit bank account details. We need to have the ability to batch pay BPAY invoices so we can pay multiple BPAY invoices more efficiently, ASAP.

And the ability to specify an "as at" date for the report. At present your only choice is the current day.
