Account Transactions: Receipts - Send automated 'payment received' e-mail when payment is reconciled360 votesHi all, appreciate and understand the support in being able to automate processes such as communication of payment received with a customer. Though seemingly simple there are a few complexities that'd need to be accommodated for when considering the solution here - such as behaviour for re-reconciliations (Remove & redo has been used), split transactions or Mark as reconciled is used. Our product teams in this area are working on building on beautiful experiences throughout Bank Reconciliation, which you'd have have experienced this first with the Reconcile tab and they are now moving through other pages and features in Bank Rec - This'll take some time and with that at the fore-front right now we want to be upfront that we don't have immediate plans to add an automated email when a transaction line is reconciled. As we embark work on the Account Transactions tab we'll be able to revisit… Laura Westlake

633 votesHi everyone, we appreciate how automatically sending statements could improve cash flows, and save the manual efforts involved in this periodic task. We recognise the importance of this functionality, and with a clear focus on decreasing the time it takes for our customers to receive payments, I’m pleased to share that this idea is now In discovery. 😊 While we can’t give any commitments to development yet, this is a good step in the right direction and we’ll be sure to update you on progress from the exploration here. Thanks! Laura Westlake

714 votesHey everyone, thanks for all the votes and feedback on this idea! Our product teams have definitely taken note and understand the effort involved in automatic report generation and sending. While it's something we see as valuable in the long run, it's not currently on our development roadmap with a specific timeframe. We're still keen to hear from those of you who would find this feature helpful, so please keep the conversation and votes coming. We'll be sure to update you if our plans change. Laura Westlake

779 votesHi community, first off thank you for the continued interest and feedback surrounding this idea. We’re continuing to build on the bank reconciliation experience in Xero and recognise the ways this feature will help improve the efficiency, flexibility and transparency of transactions in your business. Our team have done a lot of exploration into being able to surface and match Credit Notes when reconciling your bank account in Xero, and this is now in development. We’ll shift the idea here into ‘Working on it’ and continue to update as there’s more detail of this to share. Laura Westlake

1,029 votesHi everyone, a year on from my last engagement we wanted to provide an update for you all here. As many will be across we're in the midst of making a lot of iterations and improvements to new invoicing leading up to the retirement of classic invoicing in September (2024). We have a fair amount of work lined up in the teams schedule over the coming months and to give an indication there isn't any committed plans around a function to add interest to invoices. That said, we do have a team that have picked up and are considering how we might solve this with the technology in new invoicing - It's early days on this yet, but I'll share if there's any progress on this for you all here. In the meantime, as has been shared by others over time there are a few ways you could accomplish this… Laura Westlake

1,469 votesHi community, we acknowledge the strong feelings in this idea and why you need a feature to flag bills directly within Xero. We really appreciate all your feedback and the detailed explanations of how this would help streamline your accounts payable. We are dedicated to providing a solution for this over the longer term, but this will take some time requiring changes that sit beneath the face of bills. In lieu of a direct feature for this we wanted to highlight some of the options discussed by the community here: - Add a note to the bill: A detailed note on the bill itself can serve as a clear internal reminder of the dispute.
- Utilise tracking categories: Creating a specific tracking category like "Disputed Bills" can help you filter and report on these items.
- Adjust the due date: Temporarily extending the due date can prevent accidental payment while the dispute is…

727 votesHi community, we appreciate this idea has collected a fair amount of votes and commentary. This has all been feedback and taken seriously by our product teams. Currently, there are ways to record a bad debt in Xero, depending on your tax registration status and how you want the transactions to be recorded in your reports - We have help for this on Xero Central you can draw into. We don’t have any plans in the near term to expand functionality to develop a button to write off invoices or bills as 'bad debt'. If anything changes in this space, we’ll update you on this idea! 337 votesHi everyone, thanks so much for sharing your comments and support for this idea. We really get why you'd like a central report, so you can check each customer's payment history just to see who's paying late. Currently as mentioned in the discussion here, you can see a customer's average days to pay on their individual contact record, but we know this isn't the same as having a single report for all your customers. While we can see there's a lot of interest in this, it's not on our current roadmap for development. Community members will still be able to vote - So we'll continue to keep a close eye here and will let you know if anything changes. Laura Westlake

This would be extremely helpful for us to ensure all monthly purchase invoices are received each month - car leases/mobiles etc.
