Hi Mireille,
Thank you for the detailed feedback regarding the recent XPM updates.
I’ve moved this into Gaining Support. I can definitely see how the removal of those phone number columns has added extra steps to your workflow. While the recent design updates aimed for a cleaner look, "at a glance" information is vital for busy practices.
A quick tip for now: If you need to see phone numbers across your client list without clicking into each one, you can customise your main list view:
- Go to Clients > All Clients.
- Click the Columns button on the right.
- Tick Phone and Mobile. This will surface those numbers in your main list view so you don't have to drill into each record.
I’ve updated the title to "XPM - Suggestion to display contact phone numbers on the Client details screen" to help other practice users who are feeling…

Hi Hannah, thanks for sharing your thoughts on the business structure view in Xero Practice Hub. It’s helpful to understand how important it is to see clearer client details at a glance when you’re managing groups of clients.
Your suggestion around having a more detailed business structure breakdown makes sense, especially as broader categories like Other can cover a mix of different client situations.
We’ve now moved this idea to Gaining Support, which means it’s open for the community to vote and add comments. This helps us understand what’s most valuable to you, and we’ll keep you posted as things progress. If others would find this useful too, feel free to share your thoughts.

Thanks for feeding back on the Client search, Carey. The way that search works for the new client list experience is a little different to the older experience, and partial matching is not a feature with this new search.
While it's not in our roadmap atm, our team are keen to stay close the support this idea receives and will consider in future planning. I'll share if there are any updates here.

Hi team, really good to hear your feedback on what could improve your experience with new Tax Manager which is currently in beta.
We're listening to the feedback we're receiving about this from our community and while not in the works just yet, the ability to save custom filters is a feature we plan to develop.
You can get more of a view of what's to come in Tax Manager through Xero Central, and I'll keep you updated here once this idea progresses with the team.

Hi everyone, we appreciate your feedback and would like to share an update on this idea.
Tax Manager is a new feature currently in beta and was released early to give users access to ready to start returns and the lodgment widget.
There are a number of additional features being worked on to enhance Tax Manager that you can read up about on Xero Central, and you'll also notice a 'Coming soon' button within Tax Manager to see what's in the pipeline.
Showing the count of returns based on their status is something we're currently working on and I'll share again here when this is released. Thanks for your contributions on product ideas.

This would be a major usability improvement in Tax Manager. Having a visible outcome column showing refund or tax payable would allow agents to prioritise work immediately, identify clients who need urgent payment planning, and avoid opening each return individually.
During peak tax periods, this would save a significant amount of time and reduce the risk of errors or missed follow ups. It aligns well with how the old Tax Returns window functioned and would greatly improve efficiency for practices managing a high volume of clients.
Strongly support this enhancement.

Hi everyone 👋 thanks for your continued feedback and for sharing your thoughts on this idea. While this idea is not currently on our development roadmap, we are always reviewing feedback to help us shape our product priorities. As a workaround for now, you can use the existing data roll-over function for client shareholders and then manually adjust the details for non-client shareholders. We'll be in touch with another update if there is any change to the status of this idea.

It would be extremely helpful if the list view could include an additional column or indicator showing whether each tax return results in a refund or payable outcome.
This would allow users to easily identify the status of each return at a glance, without having to open them individually. It would be a great time-saver, especially when managing multiple clients or periods.
Thank you for considering this improvement. It would make the workflow much more efficient for practitioners.

I agree with this feedback and would like to add to it. I work extensively in Xero Practice Manager and use the client edit screen frequently as part of my daily workflow. The current edit layout makes updating client details less efficient due to excessive white space and the lack of a clear visual hierarchy between headings, section titles and fields.
Client structure visibility
The current sections feel disjointed. In the first client section, it should be possible to clearly identify the business structure. It may be more intuitive to label this as Client structure and move it to the main Client section, instead of having it under Business. This would improve clarity from the very first step when creating a client.
Consolidation of tax details
All tax related identifiers should be grouped in a single Tax section. This includes TFN, ABN, and ACN. Having these fields spread across different sections makes data entry slower and increases the risk of missing critical information.
Address entry optimisation
For addresses, the system should default to an Australian address search with auto-complete enabled. Only if the address is overseas should the user need to manually select another country. This would significantly speed up data entry and reduce errors.
Titles usability
In the Client section, the most common titles such as Mr, Mrs, Ms, Miss, or Dr should be listed at the top, or alternatively allow a smart search as the user types. This would make the field faster and more intuitive to use.
Search by TFN or ABN
The search functionality should allow users to locate clients using TFN or ABN, not only by name. This would be particularly useful for practices with a large client base and would help avoid duplicate client creation.
