Thanks for your feedback on the new homepage here. We appreciate what works well and not so well for our customers with the new experience. Our product team have been taking this all onboard as they continue to plan their roadmaps. Since initially released in beta, they've made some changes to the 'Cash in and out' and 'Chart of accounts' widgets so when customising your view you'll now have the options to 'Make larger' or 'Make smaller'.
Right now, they're also considering sizing of other widgets and your contributions in this idea are super useful to their exploration of this. I'll be sure to share any further updates of the sizing of widgets with you all here.

Having played around a little more, I'd also suggest that some of the widgets need a "compact" setting - especially the account watch list - to reduce the amount of spacing between each of the rows.
Using both "compact" and being able to resize the height to enable all watched accounts to be shown in a list without the scrollbar would be far better to detect discrepancies quickly.

Make the Chart of Accounts widget resizable in height.
It now has a scrollbar within the widget. I preferred the old widget that shows all the accounts in a list without the scrollbar. Alternatively, provide an option for it to be dynamic in height based on the number of accounts being shown.
I now have to scroll the widget view itself to see important accounts, rather than all accounts being visible immediately. There's a good chance I might miss something important.

Hi everyone, thanks for sharing how important automated holiday pay calculations are for you.
We’re updating the status of this idea to Accepted to show it's formally on our radar.
While we’ve already explored several options to automate holiday pay calculations, for the time being this is not a feature we have planned in our roadmap.
We understand some of you are managing these calculations manually. We’d suggest running the Payroll Activity Summary or Gross to Net report over a 52 week period to assist with these calculations.
We’re grateful for your feedback and will continue to monitor interest here.

Hi Michele, connecting with our product team I understand you directly caught up with them on some of these points too. We really value the time you've taken to connect and feedback about these beta experiences.
I've split your feedback here to multiple ideas so we can track interest in each change separately.
I've updated the title of this idea to reflect the request to add the Account transactions' button to the bank account widget and you'll find the other idea's I've created on your behalf listed below. 🙂
- Navigation - Control which apps are recommended
- Contacts - Warning if entering contact simliar to existing (there was an existing idea for finding duplicate contacts so I added your vote to this)
- Purchases overview - View Billable expenses not billed.
- Sales overview - Ability to customise and shift Billable expenses above Quotes
- Navigation - Setting to turn off help for all…

Hi there, thanks for the suggestion!
You're right that the current 'Total Cash In and Out' widget is fixed to a 6-month view.
While you can see longer periods by running a Cash Summary report, I understand that having that 12 or 18-month trend visible immediately on your dashboard would be much more powerful for spotting seasonal patterns.
I’ve classified this as 'Gaining Support' to see how many others would like more flexibility with this widget's timeframe

Thanks team, we really appreciate the feedback we have received and how having more visibility of quotes within the new Homepage would be useful to customers.

Hi Francesco, we really appreciate you sharing how a compact table view could help you access banking information more efficiently.
We can see why this would be helpful for businesses managing multiple accounts. The current widget layout can take up a lot of space, and a condensed list would give you all-in-one visibility, letting you see balances at a glance.
For now, you can use the Edit dashboard button to hide accounts you don’t check daily, or use the Bank Accounts screen (under Accounting) as a more condensed “second dashboard.”
We’ve updated this idea to Gaining Support, so it’s now open for votes and comments. Your input helps us understand how compact a new view would need to be!

Good to hear that you find this feature in the app useful, Shaun. These experiences differ as our Xero Accounting apps teams have a focus on the most valuable features our customers would find when doing work 'on-the-go'.
We'll get a sense of the interest in community for this here, and I'll share if there is any progress.

Agree.
The old widgets had counts for both drafts and awaiting approval above the graph - on both the bills to pay and invoices widgets.
The new widgets have this critical information below the fold, meaning it's no longer obvious and you cannot click/select either of the corresponding links without scrolling. Not ideal, and again easy to miss something important.
But this seems to be the theme with the new homepage update - so much important information moved away from immediate visibility so you need to scroll to see what you need to do. The accounts watchlist is even worse, with it's own scrollbar hiding many accounts that before could be simply scanned for issues.

Hi everyone, we appreciate the attention this idea has been getting. It's really good to hear how we can continue to improve the Homepage for our differing customers needs. We understand not all the widgets maybe useful to every user, and the 'Customise' button will let you add or remove widgets to reduce what you see on the Homepage.
Taking on board feedback we're looking at the sizing of widgets and you'll find the 'Chart of Accounts' and 'Cash in and out' widgets are now smaller by default with an option to 'Make larger' - You can follow further updates for this on the idea here.
We have plans to dig deeper into possible 'view' options (like the different levels of views being asked here) in the new year and I'll share further updates here when this gets picked up. 🙂

Hi everyone, it's easy to see why you’d want more flexibility on the dashboard. When you log in, you want the most important info right there—without having to scroll past everything else.
For now, Edit dashboard lets you reorder widgets and hide the ones you don’t use often.
However, we understand that greater layout flexibility could take dashboard customisation to another level, making it feel genuinely personalised to how you prefer to work.
We’ve moved this to Gaining Support to see how many others are looking for more control over dashboard layout.

Thank you to everyone that's joined and shared feedback on our new homepage experience, here. Continuing to review and take this on board our team are working on some updates to the Invoices owed to you and Bills to pay widgets.
The intention is to offer more flexibility in the size of these widgets with the ability to reduce and remove the graph from showing.
I'll come back to share more as this progresses.

Appreciate the extra details shared by everyone here.
We'll continue to get a track of the interest in a specific widget for accessing reports from the Homepage and share if there are any developments planned around this.
Right now, just to highlight what is possible - You can favourite a report from the Reports centre including a custom report you've set up to make this accessible from the Reporting drop down menu in the navigation.

Hi Kelly, just to follow-up on a comment I've seen made several times in your responses. Specifically this:
"[...] changes to the 'Cash in and out' and 'Chart of accounts' widgets so when customising your view you'll now have the options to 'Make larger' or 'Make smaller'."
This option doesn't really address the main feedback point - at least from my perspective. These options simply "stretch" the widget from 1 to 2 columns, and back again.
With the chart of accounts widget, they do not change the height, and consequently do not get rid of the scrollbar, and still prevent us from seeing the full list easily.
In respect to those widgets with graphs, they simply stretch the graph. If 6 months data is shown in 1 column view, then 6 months is still shown in 2 column view - it would be much better if the additional real estate was also used to increase the actual data shown (e.g. 6 months when the widget is 1 column width, 12 months when the widget is 2 columns wide).
I do appreciate the feedback and updates, but it really does sound in many cases that the product team are really missing the crux of our feedback points, and do not seem to be addressing the underlying usability problems.
