A report to support this leave
Employees are submitting leave as per there payslips and have no knowledge that this is not actual leave. They may not have been with our company 12 months or it's accured leave which only becomes actual on their anniversary. We are finding some of our employees with negative leave balances, which causes both confusion and problems on them leaving.8 votes -

Global Payroll: YTD Earnings and deductions on Payslips
An Employee's payslip gives the current pay period earnings, deductions and net take home pay. It's missing YTD earnings and deductions information on a payslip. Please consider including the same in your future updates. Thanks, We are a Canadian based business.

CIS report - Ability to include tracking
When running the monthly CIS report it would be helpful to include the tracking category, to be able to work out the total liability per department to pay out of each bank account to HMRC

Customer Statements - Use Contact default to apply template
We are a multi-currency business. We send out invoices in GBP (base currency), EUR and USD. We have 3 bank accounts (GBP, EUR, USD. I therefore had to create separate invoice templates for each currency, to show the correct bank details. I added the relevant invoice theme when setting up a new contact (customer). This works well when raising an invoice. However when manually sending out a statement it does not take the invoice theme from the one chosen on the invoice (= in our case normally default invoice theme on contact). AU Payroll - Warning for missing employee bank details
A warning or prompt should come up when an employee has no bank details recorded - similar to when an employee's bank account is updated when a payroll is posted.
This can be acknowledged by the user and allow them to move on.
When the ABA is exported - this prompt should come up, every time an ABA without bank details is exported - as the payment could fail and the employee will not be paid.

Invoice - Include payment dates in Invoices and Bills exports
From "business" then "bills to pay" or "invoices" and click on "export" from a search result, the payment dates are missing in both the Invoices and Bills export files. Only the invoice dates and due dates are exported. Please add payment dates to the reports. Thanks.

Reporting - Allow Tracking Reports to be Edited
It would be useful if we were able to edit the layout of the tracking reports so that these can then be included in management accounts and other custom reports.

Reports | Trial Balance - Combined 'Account Code' and 'Description' columns in .CSV
Can you get the new TB to download with the account code and description in the same column as was possible in the old TB. (see attached)
It's a great column to upload into tax software as a description, instead of having to mess about with 2 separate code and description columns.1 vote -

Sales invoices - Allocate overpayments and credits once published
Kelly Munro shut down discussion on an idea I suggested, because she was under the mistaken impression that she had resolved the issue, which she had not. I suggested that it would be useful to be able to allocate payment of purchase invoice against overpayments and credits. While what Kelly suggested was correct - that this is possible to do when an invoice is first raised, it is only possible at this stage. It is not possible later. When merging contacts within Xero if the contact you are merging has a gocardless mandate - carry it across to the new combined contact.

Bank Reconciliation - Create a Batch Payment file from Spend Money transactions
Create batch files for spend money transactions so if a payment needs to be made to say the ATO can create a batch file and upload to bank without needing an invoice.

Bank accounts - Note sections for accounts
It would be useful to have some sort of 'notes' section within each bank account. We have several bank accounts for various purposes (mostly to use as 'savings' for various tax liabilities (for example, corporation tax, VAT etc)-but it would be useful, for managing cash and future liabilities to have a notes section to keep track of what is due and when, rather than having to do either run a VAT return or P+L every time I need to remind myself and how much needs to be put aside.

Expense claims - Add reference to bill
Add in the facility to include "description" when using the expenses app.
Its included in all other transactions, but when expenses imported via the app it loses this feature. Wouldn't be difficult to drag this line in surely?

1 voteAppreciate your feedback on the change from older reports to new. While we don't have any direct plans for making updates to the formatting of formulas when exporting to excel we have just made some updates to excel export of reports I wanted to highlight for you here, where we've;
- Adjusted the default zoom from 150% to 100%, and slightly change the size of title and currency fonts to make the report easier to read
- Made small changes to the formatting of cells in rows to create more consistency across the report
We'll stay tuned into the support for other changes coming through the site here an let you know if there's any news on this, here.

Expenses - Floating header
Xero Expenses - Can this screen be displayed, like Bills to Pay and with a freeze frame set at the top of the information, so 'New expense' stays put when scrolling?

Bills to pay - Multi facet search (cross-search by multiple fields)
Sort "Bills you need to pay" Invoices by Supplier, then Due Date.
When I make payments to suppliers, I first sort invoices by suppliers name (A-Z) and then by due date, however, the new update does not keep the A-Z order which means the list is not neat and easy to follow for payments.
I can currently sort by due date, however it does not group automatically by supplier, so is very chaotic and requires streamlining, especially if there are lots of invoices due on the same date.
Are you able to amend the programming to allow for this feature?

Reporting - Combine Bank Reconciliation & Uncoded Statement Line Report
It would be useful if Bank uncoded statement line report could also show outstanding payments & receipts. 9 times out of 10 an 'orange' transaction is a client error, duplicate transaction etc. Effectively this would be a complete list of bank items to be reconciled / fixed ( Ideally with the last month, quarter, financial year filter)
