  1. Were clients have figures in the New Xero Cashflow report of $1,000,000 and $10,000,000. The cashflow can only handles this by reducing the months on the report. An Idea to get arround this would be to do what larger company's do in a prospectus. State in a subtitled that all figures are in millions and omit the last 3 zeros.

  2. Ability to import leave requests using CSV files.

    Purpose: To save users time from having to manually create a request to the employee, and approve it. This will also help if they’re using a third party that allows them to export CSV.

  3. When I prepare Financial Statements, I copy and edit a published set of Financial Statements from the previous year. But it is annoying that in the now draft Financial Statements, the date in the Compilation Report does not refresh to current date. So I either manually edit the date or add a Comp Report from My Xero. Either way is a pain. Any better ideas?

We have imported all our contacts (a mixture of customers and suppliers) into Xero but they have all gone into the "All" category and there is now no way of assigning them to the "Customers" or "Suppliers" categories. It seems like a crazy restriction that not even the Xero people can fix for us. My suggestion is to allow us to move them out of All into one of the other categories.

  5. Expenses search and sort.

    If you only have access as a user and not full access to the accounts, searching past expenses is a painful experience.

    What a painful thing searching for expenses in Xero is.

    Can't filter by date range, or search for a particular description, or search by account. And they're in some unfathomable order which you can't sort by date.

    Suggestions: Sort by date option to help answer questions like 'did I remember to file that expense 3 months ago'

    Filter on date range: 'Show only expenses between January and March last year'.

    Search on description: List…

  6. Allow any field from the company or contact field to be added to report columns. e.g. Company account ID so once a report is downloaded we can use Vlookup and consolidate data from several different reports, Company City, or State so we can evaluate sales based on geography. The currently available columns in the Reporting are very restrictive and do not allow a business to make smart decisions as data is scattered or not available easily.

    Hi Lynx, appreciate raising your idea in community. While we don't intend to make every field of a contacts record visible in every report appreciate your detail around the Location and Contact Account Number that you'd like to be able to view. Are there any specific reports you'd find this most useful in? 

  7. Does Xero have any plan to put the payment term feature showing on tax invoice in near future? Currently, we setup on each customer record. But the payment term is not printed automatically for each customer. Hope to see this feature soon on all printed invoice.

    Hi Emily, there's no way or immediate plans for enabling differing payment terms per contact on invoicing atm.

    Right now, if you have differing payment terms for different sets of customers, they way to represent these differences would be through the use of invoice templates.

    You can then set a default branding/template to be applied to each of your contacts which'll be auto applied when you raise and send an invoice for them.

  8. When creating quotes, there is not enough space to add our Terms and Conditions in the relevant field. There are nowhere near enough characters. Please can you increase the size of that, and also allow us to have smaller text there too. We have long terms and it's very important we get them in.

    Hi team, while we don't have plans to increase the space directly within the Quote on Xero there are two ways you could go about adding larger terms to your Quotes. You could;

    1. Attach the (externally created) file with the full T&Cs to each quote as it is created, and then include it as an attachment
    2. Use an advanced invoice template for your invoices/quote etc - making the document the second page of the advanced template.
  9. Need a warning message when a CIS Return has changed from the original amount submitted, to enable the user to know that an amended return neds to be submitted.

  10. Timesheet Tap n Go Widget for Mobiles

    The Xero Me app is fine for leave and payslips, but it's not the best for end-user timesheet input or management. Sure it works and links to the pay system, but from an end user experience it's behind other timesheet apps as users have to log in to then manually enter times.

    However, with a one-touch "tap n go" widget employees could put on their mobile devices (they already download Xero Me ) so they simply tap to input (check-in) the current time and tap to end (check-out).

    This is a common feature…

  13. When printing newly created checks it would be nice to have the ability to easily select all for just those new checks by marking all previously printed checks as having already been printed instead of either having to check the box next to each check you want to print or by doing a search by date (if you print checks once daily) to be able to then select all to print.

  14. It would be great if we could edit the tax rate without reversing the payment allocation. Sometimes, when completing the VAT reconciliation before sending to HMRC, I spot errors in tax rates and I can't edit it without reversing the payment allocation. You can edit the account it is posted to but not the tax rate.

  15. Please could you enable the option of re-ordering an invoice on the mobile app. Sometimes invoices need to be changed or additions to be made to specific dates. For example, if I want to amend my invoice and add a charge , I would like to be able to press a re-order tab, to make all items billed live, so I can move then up or down the invoice. It is not a new idea, a lot of payment software have this as standard.

    Hi Paul, can you share a bit of detail of why you'd find it useful to filter only particular sections of the report, and perhaps an example of the way you see yourself being able to use this sort of function in the report? 

    We don't have any plans at this stage for multi-tiered filtering but it'd be good to better understand your needs behind it? 

  17. This feature was included in the old user interface for Bank Rules, and with the new interface that was rolled out, this feature is no longer available. Instead, I'm forced to go to the COA screen to add a new COA code, then refresh my Bank Rules screen to then be able to choose that account. The time this adds, on top of the already manual process to add bank rules, really adds up. I'd love to see this ability again.

  18. Generally working in Xero is very efficient. However, when paying approved expense claims (and recording the payment) I have to constantly switch between keyboard to type in the payment amount (which is displayed in a cell above) and the mouse to select the payment date and payment account. I can't imagine a scenario when the amount paid is not the amount approved. Why is this cell not pre-populated with the approved amount? If it was it would halve the time it would take me to register payments against expense claims.

  20. It is ridiculous that you are forced to set a calendar reminder to come back and downgrade a Xero Subscription in a month's time.
    A client may need to increase their subscription purely to account for the crossover period of one staff member leaving and a new one starting and whilst we have no issue paying the additional for the one extra employee, to make it impossible to downgrade for a month after that upgrade is a pathetic cash grab by Xero.
    Make it possible to downgrade the file immediately and have it take effect from the future date.
