  1. When you create a new transaction you have 2 fields which identify the nature of the transaction - "Description" and "Details".

    I find myself constantly copying one to the other. It would be really useful if Xero could auto-copy description across to details, and if you don't want it the same you can overtype the details.

    Having content in both fields helps identify the item, and usually the same content will do.

From within your contact details or Quote or Invoice - why not have the functionality to communicate to a client via WhatsApp or send the Quote or Invoice via WhatsApp. If you are in the construction industry, acknowledging that not everyone is in construction, the craftsmen you work with only gets to Mail and acceptance of quotes in the evenings. WhatsApp's they respond to easily and quickly ....

  4. The contacts screen has the financial details Bank account i.e Bank account name, BSB code e.g. 123-456, Bank account number e.g. 1234567890.

    However these are not fields on the invoice.

  6. When I post an expense through to a project, for some reason it limits it to 100 characters, which pretty much makes it un-useable for me.
    This is annoying, as I was just thinking how handy the projects app is, but now all the "projects" I've set up are basically a waste of time as I need the extra detail on my invoices.
    Please can you change this?

  7. A client needs a further option on a bill. Equipment Hire / Plant Hire can be in hours/days/weeks

    Another example is gloves - per pair or per pack

  8. Add the tax rate % on payslips.
    At the moment the tax is automatically calculated through Xero, casual employees are wanting to know exactly what % is being taxed from their pay and not just what is deducted and called tax!

  10. For clients who use the iPad app for quotes, it is important that the quote be able to be printed. This would be for Xero clients whose customers visit a place of business ("the shop") to discuss an order; the Xero client should be able to print the quote for delivery to the client.
    For one of my potential clients, this procedure applies to 95% of the quote opportunities.

  11. An employee is in charge of paying our foreign supplier accounts. So we gave him the role "Invoice only (Approve and Pay). Unfortunately, he is not able to see a full statement of the supplier account with all invoices, credit notes and payments made so he does not know how much is owed. He is also unable to enter payments against a supplier without an invoice already existing in Xero, which is an issue when making payments to suppliers who require payment in advance.   13. Our company uses Tracking categories and used to be able to code the bank rec to a job code and then print an easy profit and loss report based on that job category. The current reports available in Xero are not the same and much more confusing for day to day users. Can you remove the account group and give an accurate p&L report to shwo if the tracking category has made a profit or a loss like myob did.     Hi Alexandra, it might be good to come into our Support specialists to confirm and get 1-on-1 help to better understand your needs here. 

    When you say remove the account group in the Profit & Loss - you can edit the layout of your report (or is it the way in which the Profit & Loss is structured that you'd like to change here?) 

    We have another feature called Projects in Xero that I'd also recommend exploring if not already and enables you to track expenses and sales related to a specific job. 

  14. Ability to automatically reconcile Stripe payments on mobile app. Currently Xero automatically groups transactions for Stripe payments to be automatically reconciled on desktop, but the Android app does not select Stripe transactions for automatic reconciling.

  15. The profit and loss report has an option to put in the budgeted figures when you edit the layout. Can this option also be introduced to the Cash summary report please. Some of my fruit farmers love to see that figures as well compared to the actual figures.

  17. Please make it harder for employees to accidently create their own Xero account. Most employees can handle accepting the invite to Xero Me but a lot seem to be able to set up their own Xero instead and then when they try to login to the employer Xero, their email address is already linked to another account. If they have been sent an invite from Xero they shouldn't be able to create their own Xero with that address.     Thanks for coming back to me on this, Josh. Appreciate the added insight and I've made sure to share this back with our team.

    While it doesn't resolve the needs here right now, I wanted to share this idea that you may also like to join and stay updated in case there is any progress directly within Project reports.

    For the time being, there's no direct plans made for this on the payroll side but I'll continue to keep you updated if anything changes. Thanks

Prior to the upgrade, if you were a labour hire firm and had contractors who were not a company but used their TFN, you could select the box to allow additional tax deductions for HELP / HECS debts. With the new Phase 2 STP, Xero have confirmed that if you have labour hire using TFN's and they have a hecs debt you cannot check the box and will need to manually calculate the hecs amount to deduct each payrun.
