  1. Under the old invoicing, when an invoice was emailed to a client for the first time, the email address used for that first invoice automatically populated the Contact card's email address at the time the invoice was sent.
    This meant that if the invoice was unpaid, the reminder would be able to go to the same person who received the invoice.
    However the new invoicing doesn't automatically populate the Contact's email address.
    This means an extra step is needed to ensure the Contact card is updated.
    If this step isn't taken, then the automated reminders don't go out.

    Hi Jo, interesting one here as some users would like the contact to be update but also others that wouldn't. It'll be good to get a sense of users that would like to see the contact record updated with the email used when sending from your idea here.

    No plans to change this behaviour at present but we'll share if there's any news.

  2. After the customer accepts the quote, we need to book the work in. It doesn't get invoiced until the work is complete. It would be helpful if we could add an "Expected Start Date" to quotes after they've been accepted, or at least be able to mark it as "Booked".

  4. Small request: Include the cover & contents page by default, please.

    The following is info from a Support webpage... Publish a report from the Drafts tab. In the Accounting menu, select Reports. Select the Drafts tab. Click the menu icon kebab style menu icon to the right of the report you want to publish, then select Publish.

  5. It would be nice to have a reminders function for Suppliers just like with Customers.

    We work with a very long list of Suppliers in some of our clients' companies. It could be a nice feature to have scheduled reminders go out to some suppliers that you always have to chase down for invoices/statements.

    Good to understand the needs of our different customers an that some times you may need to chase a supplier for an invoice, Lezelle.

    This isn't something we have plans for atm, but we'll get a sense of the interest from community through your idea here.

  6. Make archiving and restoring contacts more intuitive and user-friendly.

    Option for archiving contacts should be select from drop-down menu or click on "the 3 dots" and select.

    Having to find an historical invoice allocated to an archived contact in order to restore them is super-unhelpful and counterintuitive. MUCH better to include archived contacts in Contacts options and include a "Restore" option via "press and hold", drop-down or the 3 dots.

    Hi Bradley, have you tried archiving and restoring contacts from the Contacts list? From here simply select the contact/s you'd like to archive and you'll see the option at the top of the list turn blue for you to click.

    When you'd like to restore a contact you'll find the Archive tab as an option from this same screen, where you can click on the contact to open it's record and there is a blue Restore option in the top right.

  8. Currently when selecting invoices to include in a batch deposit you can only select what's on the current screen, when you click to the next screen you lose the selections you made on the previous screen. I have thousands of invoices awaiting payment, even with the max display amount of 200, it's 30+ screens to scroll through. I have to create multiple batch deposits in order to capture everything that's being taken to the bank that day. Please add a search field that will save and allow multiple invoices to be included in batch deposits.

  9. Invoice reminders are currently "all or nothing". I dont want to chase my good clients with automated messages from Xero becuse it upsets them but I do want some of my clients to have auto reminders about invoices about to become due and invoices overdue, those who generally are bad payers. In the same way we have email and invoice templates can we have invoice reminder templates and when we raise an invoice be prompted to apply a reminder template (or not).     Hi Maresa, when you say you'd like to add Location would this be based on a Tracking category you've set up in the organisation? If so, you could add this when you create the original transaction(bill) the asset is raised from.

  12. Xero needs to create a subscription purely designed for sole traders.
    Applications like hnry are alot more user-friendly and a subsciption plan designed purely for sole traders who want to manage their own returns would be great. It would also be ideal to have the subscription cost refined for this type of usage also

    Hi Shyam, this likely depends on your needs as a Sole trader and the type of features you need when using Xero. If you're wanting to process payroll for yourself the Ignite plan offers this for 1 person, as well as access to many features across Xero that will help you record expenses, track and manage your business on Xero.     In relation to XERO security, I suggest all users should have a password expiry functionality where after a period (eg 6 months) it prompts all users to change their password.

    We've had a look, and your suggestion to add a password expiry feature is now open for the community to vote and comment on.

    Hi community, this idea has been created from feedback in this initial idea. While we are interested to get a better pulse on the interest in this, we want to front foot that we don't have any plans for this change.

    Switching from landscape to portrait was made based on a lot of feedback and testing, so we'd want to see a fair amount of support through the idea here to consider making another change.

  18. Fix Tabbing issue when creating reconcile period. When creating a reconcile period I enter the first date of a Statement Date Range, hit tab and instead of going to the last date of the Statement Date Range where it should go, it weirdly tabs to the opening statement balance, forcing me to go back and click on the ending date box.

    Thanks for your post here , Brenda.

    Appreciate some customers prefer to use the keyboard to enter data. I've checked this in with our product team and can confirm, currently if you're entering a date via the keyboard and then press Tab, the cursor will move to the opening balances field.

    Appreciate it's not the solution you're asking here, however atm you can press the return key to select the date from the date picker, which will automatically move the cursor to the end of the date field.

    We're keeping a watchful eye on the interest of the idea to understand the interest in this.

  19. Shortcuts for Financial Statement Reports

    It would be extremely helpful to have shortcuts to navigate financial statements.
    E.g. 1 would go to the first page of the report, 2 would go to profit and loss, 3 to balance sheet etc. this would assist with quickly switching between different reports in the financial statements.

    Hi Emile, appreciate you sharing this suggestion for specific shortcuts that would improve efficiency when working in reports. This idea is open for fellow community members to support through voting and comments.

  20. Currently in XERO if you use more than one Ordinary Time Earnings Pay Item per employee the Annual Salary Calculation on the Payslip is incorrect. Using more than one is useful as there are some employees I like to apportion to 2 x areas. Example: It might be 1 day a week on Admin 4 days on Production. Whilst we can do this currently in XERO, as noted above the Annual Salary is incorrect. So - either - separate the Salary field from the Pay Item or change (fix) the way XERO calculates the Annual Salary. Note I am aware…
