  1. When an employee onboards and doesn't have a Tax File Number (TFN) either because they are new to Australia and have just applied for one or they are under 18 and exempt. Xero should have a feature that warns you when they either turn 18 or they have passed the 28 days allowed to work without a TFN and it should automatically change their tax declaration to no TFN provided and change the tax withheld rate, until a TFN is provided.   2. It would assist us if the Leave Accrued Report could also show the employee's start date. Long Service Leave is only applicable to staff from the 5 or 10 year mark for us in NSW but to ascertain whether staff are eligible for it is requiring external spreadsheets that have to be manually adjusted each month. Xero already has the functionality to enable this so it can't be hard to action.

  3. It would assist to have discontinued tracking categories no longer showing on drop down menus for reports. We have several categories that are no longer in use but still show up on reporting options.

    Thanks for your idea and sharing in the forums here, Rachel.

    Consideration would need to be given to how this behaves before and after a report date or date range is set, incase running for an older period that would include transaction lines that were categorised to an archived tracking option.

    Being upfront, this isn't something we have any plans around for the time being, but we'll source interest from the community in this here, and share if there are any updates.

  4. It would be useful if payslips could be scheduled to be posted to Xero Me on a date after the payroll is run. Eg you may run the payroll mid-month but want employees to be able to see their payslips on the date the payment is made at the end of the month.

  5. Add the 'Upload bills' feature as a widget on the Dashboard, for convenience.
    At present you have to navigate to 'Bills to pay', then from the 'New bill' dropdown, select 'Upload bills'. It's a great time saving feature, but seems tucked away, and would be great if right from the dashboard I could just drop bills, and invoices, ready to process later.

Currently, all our tracking categories are available to those entering expenses, however, the majority are not relevant to expenses (although they are required for invoicing so we cannot remove them from the list). We would like to be able to chose which items in the categories are available and which are not, just like we are able to with the GL accounts.

    Right now, to avoid your purchase orders going out without all the necessary detail you may want to consider giving some users Invoice Only - Draft permission.

  9. I currently use Xero Files to store documents. Most of the documents are PDF's but some are Excel spreadsheets. Unfortunately, Xero Files doesn't recognise duplicate documents so, when uploading to Xero, it's necessary to compare the Xero file with my personal file in order to determine which documents need to be uploaded. It would be good if Xero Files recognised duplicates so all documents could be selected for upload with Xero simply flagging the duplicates with an option to either "skip" or to "skip all".

  10. The ATO has announced a Sharing Economy Reporting Regime Report (SERR) where all Sharing Economy businesses also known as 'EDP operator' (electronic distribution platform) also known as "Intermediary" are required to report twice a year. When will this Report be prioritised by Xero?

  11. We are a small business that has just started using Xero, but already have 400+ contacts. Would love the ability to filter the contact list. For example, filter by country (show me all contacts in the UK, USA, etc.), filter by creation date or updated date (show me all contacts created in the last 30 days), etc.

    There is no way to sort and filter the contacts, just endless scrolling through a long list.

    Functionality feature that may not be critical to business operations, but it would make life a bit easier!

    Hi Brian, appreciate it's not a direct filter option like you're asking here however if you often need to filter by say country or another aspect of your Contact perhaps you may consider creating Contact groups? This way you'd be able to click on the group within contacts when you need.

    Being open we don't have any direct plans for adding more filtering to the Contact list atm, but we'll continue to track your idea here and share if there are any plans made.

  13. Please add the ability to switch off the suggested reconciliation entries for individual users or for all users if easier. It is a setting that shows an OK button that looks a lot like the OK for rules and other matches, and it makes users trigger happy with the OK, which leads to reconciliation account coding errors.

  16. Enable tax AMOUNT instead of the rigid tax rate in Bills.

    If you consider a Zoom phone bill, there are 3 different taxes that apply to the bill (1 Federal + 2 City). Tax rates simply DON'T WORK, Xero is too rigid.

    Why not offer a simple tax AMOUNT box where we can type a USD amount, instead of forcing some tax rate?

    And it's exactly the same for INVOICES.
    The ability to set a tax AMOUNT rather than a tax rate is indispensable.

  18. It would be great if Xero could automatically do the transfer between Xero bank accounts.
    This is our most time consuming and often error-prone coding in Xero when it should be a simple fix. Many clients still battle with this.
