  1. It would be great to be able to copy lines when processing spend money and bill transactions. I need to split costs from a single bill or credit card transaction to locations. Being able to copy data entered to a new line and then change the value if needed and apply the location would save time and limit tedium. Thank you

  2. When creating an invoice from a project, it would be ideal to have the option to close the project when creating the invoice from tasks and expenses. We currently have the option to tick box to mark the project as closed when creating an invoice for the project amount, but not when creating an invoice from tasks and expenses.

    Suggest either adding the ability to transfer tasks and expenses over to the invoice when creating from a project amount invoice or alternatively a checkbox for a task and expenses invoice to have the option to close the project as well.

  3. When in Projects - Tasks & Expenses - it would be really handy if the supplier name was included.

    When adding bills, I have to remember to add the supplier name in the bill description before adding the bill info.

    Attachment 1 - shows bills in projects without manually typing in supplier name when adding bills
    Attachment 2 - shows bills in projects with manually typed supplier name

  4. Xero made a change when adding bills at some point last year.

    Before, when you clicked to add a new bill, it would automatically open in a new tab, really handy when adding multiple bills to a specific supplier.

    Now, you have to right click on add a new bill to open a new tab otherwise you have to keep going back to contacts to re-find the supplier in order to add another bill.

    Not sure why this needed to change as it was far more user friendly and was quicker to add bills before.

  5. Please set the bank reconciliation lines on the right-hand side to pre-populate with the details on the left=hand side, that is as long as there is no 'match'' and it is not a transfer. I'm mystified as to why I have to copy and paste all of the information from the left side to the right side when Xero could do this in a jiffy. Presently the pre-population remembers a long lost description I may have made such as 'birtthday gift' and Xero is remembering this forevermore.   6. Custom categories for customers would enable us to look at what sectors are generating the most revenue. In my business, this is valuable data that is currently time consuming and prone to human error.

  7. When a custom P&L is created it does not update if there is any change in the chart of accounts. For example, if we move a nominal from the P&L to the BS it will still show in the P&L if the custom report was created before the move. This is a major flaw and when raised with Xero we are told to just re-do the custom reports, some of which take a long time to do.

  8. At the moment, when we click into Timesheets, it always defaults to Status and it lists old employee timesheets first. I have to search timesheets frequently and it's much easier if I had recent employee timesheets appear first, rather than ones that are outdated or no longer employed. It's time consuming and frustrating re-sorting by clicking on Last Edited every time. I would like to see all the current timesheets first in the list.

  9. Xero Projects time entry mass copying
    We need the ability to copy multiple repetitive time entries.
    Our team members work on multiple tasks/projects daily and it would save them a lot of time if they can copy the whole week/day of time entries from previous week/day

Instead of the currently available [Week] option in the repeating invoice reference field, which only shows the week number of the year, for example '34', instead allow the option for custom text that includes the date. For example to enable the customer to understand that the invoice being sent is for work that was undertaken during week ending 18/08/2024, which you want to display as WE20240818, you could allow something like this in the reference field: 'WE[yyyymmdd]'. This mitigates the issue of customers having to work out the date that e.g. week '34' applies to when reconciling invoices in Xero…

  11. Leave types: why aren't these in alphabetical order on the leave request screen?
    I have numbered them so that they should appear in the order I want them, but they appear last. It's the same in Xero Me - I want the most used leave types to appear first, but the leave types appear in a random order.

As some employees split payments between multiple bank accounts when they're paid, it would be good to have an option where this only happens when processing a salary payment, not reimbursing expenses. Had one where there were only expense reimbursements done (no salary/PAYE etc.) but the payment was still split and majority went to IRD. Perhaps a checkbox when entering the second bank account in that says "only split on taxed earnings" or something like that to avoid having to go and delete then re-add the additional account every time.

  14. VAT Only Transactions - Xero to remove needless restriction to have VAT amount less than line total. This will allow posting zero net with VAT amount to 20%EXP VAT code with a total equal to the VAT total without having to reply on VAT on imports tax code.

  16. Suggestion for Enhancing Note Visibility in Xero

    When writing notes for any invoice, bill, or manual journal in Xero, the notes are typically placed in the History column. However, this makes them less visible to someone new who might review these documents. If these notes could be added as sticky notes at the top corners of the page, they would be more prominent and could help avoid potential mistakes caused by missing information.   17. It would be helpful if we could search all invoices for an item. eg. Paper. Headphones etc
    then it would bring up all invoices that have paper or headphones included in them.

  19. The EU's GDPR states that data must not be retained "longer than necessary". In the UK, a sensible rule of thumb for this is 6 years to be able to provide records to the tax authority as needed, but our business does not need to keep records longer than this and our data retention policy states to customers that we will not keep their data longer than 7 years.

    We have tens of thousands of "contact" records in xero but there is no way to delete the details of customers that have not interacted with us 7 years.

  20. I have an employee with two bank accounts - Bank Account 2 currently has a dollar amount going to it, and Primary Bank Account has the balance. The employee would like to swap which one is getting the dollar amount and which the balance. I'd like to do this with a button.

    Instead I have to do it manually, copying and pasting field by field.
