  1. As someone who is colour blind, I find the Budget Variance Arrows are similar / same colour which makes viewing budget variance at a glance a challenge.

    It would be great to have an option to have lines highlighted a colour if above/below budget instead. Even better if this colour option was customisable.

  2. Ability to enter a PAID Break - This would be particularly helpful in Contruction industry, where most awards provide employees with a paid tea break on OT & Weekend work. This would mean employers will meet their obligations for Start/Finish Times as well as break times.

  3. Hi,

    I would like to suggest a small but valuable improvement to the Projects section in Xero. Currently, in the "Quotes & Invoices" tab within a project, only the invoice number is displayed, which is useful for tracking. However, for many businesses, including ours, it would be incredibly helpful if both the invoice number and the reference field could be shown simultaneously in the project’s invoice summary view.

    This improvement would enhance visibility and make it easier to track project-specific details without losing sight of important invoice numbers.

  4. It would be really useful to be able to tag users in the notes of documents, like to create a task or ticket so they are aware of whatever is needed to be changed/be aware of regarding a certain bill.
    Otherwise an internal communication/ ticket/email needs to be sent, this would simplify all the daily work and make the notes actually useful

Under classic invoicing I can share invoices across the Xero network between Xero entities from different countries (in my case, Australian company invoicing a USA company) Why can't this feature be available under the new invoice format (I don't see what eInvoicing actually has to do with it)

    First time I've seen Xero take a major step backwards (I now have to spend more time doing the same job... well done folks)

  6. I am looking for an alternative to Quickbooks. As a solo consultant, I thought Xero would be the most appropriate fit for my business. Unfortunately, the fact that I need to subscribe to the top pricing plan at $115 per month in order to be able to bill for time is totally unrealistic. I thought Xero promoted itself as being a good fit for small business???? I don't need to track projects, I just need to be able to bill by the hour and invoice my 2 clients on a monthly basis. I'm sure I wouldn't be alone in these…

  7. Financial reporting is a critical business need of any business using software. Its strange that Xero dont have this as a catagory under Small business ideas. Can we add "Reports" as a catagory. Xero is poor compared to quickbooks now so need to udnerstand if its ever going to change or whether we need to move. I will only be able to gauge this if there are lots or zero user ideas on reporting (perhaps its only me that thinks its "ok but not great"

    Thanks for submitting your idea here, Robert. Appreciate where you're coming from. Right now, the structure of product ideas categories is similar to the blue navigation within your Xero org so we typically have reporting ideas under Accounting features. Understand how it mightn't be the most intuitive design atm though and this is something that we're considering making updates to. I'll keep you looped in on any change for this here. 😊

  8. Reports - Quote Summary pulls incorrect column references. Xero dont accept this is an error and think its a product enhancement.
    Currently when you produce a quote report you cannot have a column titled Quote Ref or "Quote date". Xero has a bug which is using "Invoice Ref" and Invoice Date". Obviously for customers of our business they get annoyed that we are sending them reports implying a quote has been accepted and invoiced rather than purely pending. Such a basic error in Xero but they just dont accept the error

  9. As a NFP receiving multiple donations from multiple donors, we require summary of donations/purchases made by the donor/client as a single receipt including each donation/payment's invoice number, date paid, individual amount paid, total amount paid. The summary will need to include the NFP's logo, ABN, etc.

  10. GST Return Export

    It is annoying that the new GST return layout does not export the essential fact that it is a GST return and the period. The new GST return now just exports the business name and the end of period date.

    It needs to have the words "GST Return" or similar.

  11. It'd be great when switching projects if you could auto-fill the timer fields by clicking on an existing time entry in your list for today or a previous date as this would cut the admin time of filling out the timer form fields.

  13. Hi, It would be great to see customers who exceeded their credit limits on the dashboard. We push sales invoices from third-party app therefore we don't see alerts if someone has no credit limit left. If we could see a list on the dashboard we could act immediately. Thanks

  14. Unpaid Intern. I have an Uni student doing an internship. We offered to pay $500 per month as a transport allowance. The unpaid intern is not an employee. When I wanted to set this person up in Payroll, I found limitations: the only available contracts are full time, part time and casual. I tried to set her up as casual, which is wrong, and link the transport allowance. An error pop up asking to calculate Superannuation. I give up.

  16. At the moment Xero allows you to change a CIS invoice etc that effects the CIS return that you have already submitted. It doesn't tell you that it would need to be resubmitted or that your action will effect your CIS report. Would it be possible for Xero to alert you that your action will effect the CIS report already submitted and advise you to resubmit it.

    1. Add a running total column for outstanding invoices/bills in contact activity

    2. An option to switch between the base currency and the billing currency (on the below screenshot). This will provide a view of the outstanding amount to be paid in the selected currency.

  17. Xero Payroll restricts the payment date to no more than 90 days after the end of the payroll period. This isn't a legal or taxation limitation, but does restrict the occassions where clients are paying payroll in less regular intervals (such as paying their entire salary annually).

  18. Can you allow both a BAS agent and Tax agent (and the staff of each) to both have "Advisor" access to a ledger file.

    As only the subscription holder and their staff can have this currently it limits the functionality of the other practice who also have legitimate need for reporting etc.

  19. I would love to be able to one-click copy text fields that are commonly manually copied, such as:

    • Invoice/Bill total
    • Invoice/Bill number
    • Customer ABN
    • Customer email
    • Customer address
    • Supplier BSB/account number
    • Payment/batch total

    This click would copy the unformatted number/text to allow pasting into another app, such as Internet Banking, Excel, Calculator, email etc.

    When paying a bill via Internet Banking, I need to manually copy the total via Ctrl-C, then paste into Internet Banking and manually remove the comma.
    When pasting into Windows Calculator (which also won't accept commas) I need to paste into Notepad first to edit the…
