  1. We have to regularly edit invoices from specifics suppliers to correct pennies in the VAT boxes to ensure these match. Using up valuable and unnecessary time.

    We use another software with another company that gets this spot on every time, but considering we pay for Xero we felt it would be helpful to get the VAT extraction down to 100% accuracy.

  2. Would it be possible to create a contact who is a "sub contact" of an existing contact. For example we perform work for a strata management company. Every invoice is made out to [name of strata company] but the contact details, email address and physical address are all the same - that of the management company. I would love to create [strata management company] as the main contact with all the strata "divisions" they manage below them without having to create a new contact for every single new building. What are my chances?

    Appreciate where you're coming from with this idea, Kirsty. 

    Right now you could create a Contact Group, and have each related contact assigned to that contact group. Get what you're saying with the efficiency when having most of the same details - for now perhaps importing via csv would help create these in less time. 

    We also have an idea for the ability to copy a contact, and another for contact group statements that you might like to join and follow. 

    We'll start to get a feel of the interest for this type of feature here, and I'll let you know if there's any change planned. 

  3. New holiday regulations from 1 January 2024 to commence from 1 April 2024. The new legislation from 1 April is only based on 4 weeks so it would appear the only option is to manually calculate the enhanced holiday pay.

    It would be good in time if it was possible in Xero Payroll to calculate the enhanced holiday on selected pay elements only such as overtime, bonuses, commission, etc.

    We use two other payroll software packages that allow this process of selecting specific elements to calculate the enhanced holiday so it is possible.

  5. Currently when we are submitting expense claims we have to scroll through all our past projects to find the project we need to assign an expense to. We would like a simple search bar placed at the top of this list so we can start typing and the relevant projects will come up as an option.

  6. Hi

    I would like a feature in the short term cash flow where when a repeated manual entry transaction is made that you can edit only one instance like a repeated meeting in outlook.
    An example is that i have made a regular Money In transaction yet i cannot remove a single instance when the actual invoice is created and i am overstating incoming revenue.

  9. When I create a sales credit note for an invoice, there is no option to send it to the client at the same time as approving it. Also, Xero sends me back to the original invoice when I approve the credit note, so in order to send a copy to the client, I have to:
    - create the credit note
    - open the credit note
    - send the credit note

  10. Currently, each separate line in a sales credit note has to be separately assigned to a Project. There should be tickyboxes so that the lines can be assigned en masse, as there is for bills.

  11. Overseas Borrower Student Loan repayments have different payment dates (30 September and 31 March), there is currently no functionality within Xero Tax (NZ) to manage these payments. I understand it is not possible for the system to calculate the repayment amounts as these are determined based on the loan balance, but if there could be an override amount like for Provisional Tax that would be useful, instead of having to track these borrowers manually.

  12. We are in the building industry and receive building contracts with an income schedule. It would be good if Xero had the ability for us to email a payment schedule into Xero, similar to how you can email a bill into Xero, and Xero could automatically create draft invoices in accordance with the schedule. The user can then review the draft invoices and approve them as the stages are completed.

  14. A separate section within Xero that allows you to handle and process client money. This does not appear in the main balance sheet but operates independently. Client money is linked to the contacts but is kept separate from the business accounting. Cashbook operates in the a similar way with a bank link, but the client balance shows as a separate box. Allow payment of invoices from the client account to cover invoices. This would help small legal firms and other businesses that handle client money.

  16. Sorting bills or invoices under contacts by bill/invoice number or date or due date or reference, etc., Previously I believe that this was possible, now the only column is date and that's pretty annoying when looking for a particular bill number, etc.,

  17. In Projects, when you are assigning an expense to an estimated expense, you have to press tab twice to begin entering the name of the estimated expense you want to assign it to. When the pop-up appears, you should be immediately able to start entering the information that is the only thing you can do in that pop-up.

  18. US Xero Clients have Avalara built into Xero as the Auto Sales Tax feature. With legislation changing significantly around Sales Tax in the US, Canadian Companies who sell into the US would really benefit from having the same feature available to them.

  20. Great that New Invoicing can now add attachments from the Inbox - Yay

    BUT, the key functionality of being able to return the file to the inbox when it is removed from the invoice is still missing. Removing an attachment from an invoice DELETES it, Gone. Cannot be recovered.
    Tip: ALWAYS Download your attachments before removing them from invoices, regardless of Needing them.

    Hi team, appreciate the feedback we've received on this, here. While I've made sure to share the needs back with our team, I also wanted to highlight how you can make sure you keep a copy of your file in your library for now. 

    If you shift files to a folder when you upload them to Xero, they will remain in the folder once you add them to a new invoice. So, this way you have it both attached to the invoice and available in the files library.
