  2. When I enter a reference in batch deposit, this does not pull through to the bank reconciliation. On the bank reconciliation report, the Description is "Payment: multiple items" and the Reference field is blank. This is not useful as I have to go into each transaction and see which company the receipt has come from. Why enter a reference when it does not appear on the bank reconciliation report? When I try to search to match deposits using the company name, these deposits do not appear as the Description is unhelpful. If there are smaller batches which add up to…

  3. A report to show transactions that have been posted including the account code and the projects that the transactions have been assigned to with data parameters.

    We reconcile the sales, direct costs and gross profit amounts from the project summary report to the same amounts in the profit and loss report but currently there is no way to identify differences when they arise. The above report will really be helpful!

  4. Payroll/Wages Payable Reconciliation
    It is quiet difficult in Xero to find out wages payable error done because there is no system of matching wages payment with the payroll journal at the transaction allocation stage.
    e.g. as we get the suggestions to allocate a payment received against an invoice, it should be similar with the wages.
    If there is any over/under payment it will be detected at the transaction allocation stage as there won't be any matching payroll transaction existing. This feature is there in MYOB. This is the only reason where I find MYOB better than Xero.

  5. From the moment you post a payrun, and this can be 1 day or 10 days before payment is made, employees have access to their payslips. To pull an ABA from the payrun, you need to post the payrun first. I process payroll for over 30 business's. Part of that process, as I am sure it is for any agent or employee bookkeeper, you generally need to get an approval (even the filing for STP makes you verify that an authorised person has checked it).   6. When go in to view/approve timesheets have the ability to set a default pay calendar to use (currently all pay calendars including archived pay calendars come up). And the pay calendar for last week (defaults to the current week which means need to scroll down and repeat each time you view/check a new employee). Not very time efficient

  7. It was bought to my attention after using xero for over 2 years that depending on how you pay your staff using multipayment or individually that when you reconcile if your staff have access to contacts then they will see the payments made.

    This is a concern for me that they can see the amounts whether your reconcile as a bulk amount and allocate to them or a generic contact - if you use the cash coding area then xero creates a dummy payee called unknown which again can be seen by your staff with standard access.

  9. Dear Sir/madam,

    Is ther a way to have a search bar permanetly open. It disappers every time a change between invoce tabs.
    Perhaps it can be one search bar on top of the tabs with a choice of permanently open or closed with option to search invoice status as per tabs.

    It seems more convenient than clicking search buttom prior search all the time you switch the invoice tabs.

  11. Please allow timesheet approval as a sub option to payroll admin in the user set up, similar to "invoice only" option in the business and accounting setup. We have employees on labour hire contracts that need to submit their hours to the client supervisor for approval so that we can get paid. We want to be able to add the client rep without giving them full access to payroll. The only current work around is to add them as as a "Contractor - Non Employee" in Xero Payroll

  12. The cash flow currently picks up bills to be paid on a specific date in the cash flow but if you set up a payment in advance and mark as paid in Xero, the bill disappears all together from the cash flow.

    The manual workaround is to "Add upcoming money in or out" but I would have expected Xero to pick them up as payments already set up on the bank account.

A regular check to ensure you are using the correct subscription for the size of your business. we downsized but without checking our subscription and have been paying for a subscription for more staff than we have. A quarterly reminder email to remind clients to check their subscription is correct for their needs.

  16. We have a lot of personal expenses (reimburseable) and no company expenses within our business - when employees input their expenses it defaults to company money.

    Occasionally these slip through the net and aren't changed prior to approval.

    Can we switch off 'company money' in expenses - or can we set 'personal spend' to be the default option?

  19. We are based in Singapore. Your system does not cater very well for GST when the functional currency is not SGD.
    My Xero is USD-based, hence we have to use only GST Audit Beta.
    But we have to key in "Exchange Rate for GST Purposes" into our system so that when reporting to Singapore Tax authority, we have to report in SGD.
