  1. Hi there, I would like to be able to assign line items (that are the same) on a bill to multiple customers.

    i.e. 2 x oil filters, assign ONE of each to separate customers without having to enter them on separate lines on the bill to do so.

    Also, when creating an invoice and viewing "items to assign to a customer" I would like to be able to see the Supplier AND their invoice number in that list.

  2. Our financials include a report on the profitability of projects closed during the month. Because the system writes the date of closure from the actual live date that the user marks the project as closed, the user needs to make sure that each project is marked as closed immediately on the date of completion. E.g. If a project is completed in the last week of the month the user must ensure that the closure field is ticked during that week and not wait until the following week.

    Can you allow the user to enter or amend the closure date ?

  5. Currently, to invoice from a quote = a standard invoice. There needs to be an option to create an repeating invoice also. This is consistent with the request to change a standard invoice into a repeating invoice also.

  6. Many of my clients complain that they 'can't find what they are looking for' when using the top search bar facility. I too often struggle to find things unless I am specific and know the exact detail of a posting. A search return of more options would be very beneficial listing all transactions in relation to any word or value typed into the search bar.

    Hi team, appreciate the continued engagement in the idea here, apologies I've not returned to update before now.

    I want to be upfront that we don't have any plans for changing the logic of search results in the near term. However, I felt it might help to explain how this is working at present to understand results you may be seeing - Global search considers several factors in deciding which results to display, and in what order. These factors include, but aren't limited to:

    • Document type – Document types searched most often get priority in the order of the search results. Contacts and invoices appear at the top of the results, as they’re the most popular search.
    • Term frequency – The frequency the term you search for appears in the document.

  7. Send a single Receipt for multiple invoices which will help the customers who are expecting an annual Tax receipt for the payments made for the reporting financial year.

  8. The ability for an employee to be able to enter the number of kilometres travelled each day. This number being able to filter through to the pay run so the employer can pay an allowance of cents per kilometre.

  9. It would be really useful if Bills autosaved to Drafts - as happens when you enter an Invoice. Because Invoices are autosaved, you are in that mindset and can often forget that you have to click Save or Approve for a Bill to be logged.

  10. Quote Titles should show up in the reporting so that clients can see which projects they are looking at. This is much different than a reference which is typically a job or project number that the client needs reference to.

  11. Ability to switch between organisations on the Xero phone app. I presently work for several businesses and upload receipts/invoices as go. I presently would need to login and out to be able to do this as I have different email accounts for some of the businesses I work for. I am told that I can only do this if I use the same email account across all clients, this is not possible with in house email accounts.

  12. New invoicing version makes me tick 'Include files as attachments' for every invoice I send off, whereas the old invoicing remembered my defaults. I prefer the old way where my preferences were saved.

    New invoicing also cannot preview attachments, it always has to open a new tab to view an attachment. Old invoicing I could preview an attachment on a pop up within the same browser tab. I prefer just viewing the attachment quick within the same screen, I personally don't like having another tab that needs closing.

    Thanks for sharing your thoughts and feedback on how you'd like to see new invoicing developed. All your feedback here is being shared with the team as they continue to iterate and develop this new experience. 

    That said, in order for us to get a better understanding of interest for the different points raised here it's best for us to track and update any progress on these each separately.   13. Projects - Ability to copy time entries using web platform

    Currently you can copy a time entry using the Projects app but this function does not seem to be availible using the web based software. This could be added to the hamburger menu where at present the only options are edit or delete.

  14. Please could you add a Title field into the customers name - my invoices show with just the surname on which is very unprofessional.
    ie. Mr Smith on the invoice would look much nicer than just Smith !!! This must be a basic thing to do.?? Please consider this as urgent.

  15. Please change the table view on the Business --> Purchase Orders (Purchase Order Overview) to be the same as the Invoice Overview, which expands to fill the width of the page, as the current Purchases Overview is truncated and you cannot see pertinent purchase order details; like the PO name as an example.

    Great to have this feedback on the improvements that'll help you get the most out of using Xero especially purchase orders. As you might've seen in our news we're refreshing purchase orders in Xero and as part of this will be giving the overview screens an uplift too! 😊

    Product teams have paid close attention to the ideas represented through our community and I'm pleased to share this will be something we're bringing in with the new experience. I'll keep you updated when this work rolls out to our customers.

  16. Allow charities to add an option for customers to make a voluntary donation when paying their invoice.

    When making a payment through the pay now link, they would be able to add an additional amount as a donation, if they choose to.

  17. Once a report is published, there's no way to edit the name. I like to add a reference in the publish-name of a report so that I can easily find the specific one that I'm looking for in the list of published reports - especially useful when you're publishing multiple bank account reconciliation reports. Sometimes I forget, and the only way to change the name of a published report is to delete the report and re-create it.

  18. It would be useful to add possibility of using long figures of quantity when entering inventory transactions. For now only 4 decimals are allowed. On practice it would be great if up to 10 would be possible.

  19. Branding Themes (in Invoice Settings) that are templates for Invoices, Statements, Purchase Orders, Quotes, Remittances, you name it, can only currently be 'deleted' when no longer required (ie, if a staff member resigns). BUT, individual staff themes have generally been attached to a transaction and once that 'theme' is deleted, you lose the history/audit capability. Being able to ARCHIVE instead will maintain the integrity of all the 'theme' template data it was use for.

  20. There is no functionality to retroactively add or edit break times into an employees submitted timesheet. It would be good to be able to edit or add a break time on the timesheet if they forget before approving it.
