Pricing Plan - Increase the limits of Bills in Ignite Pricing Plan
Dear Xero
I'm a user of your Standard business plan and happy to pay for this service, but also a user of your Starter Plan for another business in another country and it has some limitations which really need attention for small business owners who don't do much accounting.
The limit of 5 bills a month has to be increased to at least 10 which seams fair for a small business. I don't see the value of your price increase for basic features we need.
The other issue with 5 bills its allocated to each month, so should you have…

Just Ask Xero(JAX) - Ability to turn off (after it goes live)
Today, I received an email from Xero, enthusing about the upcoming feature called JAX "Just Ask Xero". Apparently, this is a generative AI assistant.
Once it goes live, I will want to know how to turn it off. I will never use it - if I need help creating an invoice, there's a help file for that, and checking an AI's work takes as long or longer than just doing it myself in the first place - and see no reason to waste processing resources on something I will never use. Ensuring efficient use of processing resources is also critical…
92 votesHi everyone, thanks again for your feedback. We’re continuing to make changes to JAX, including how it’s controlled in your organisation.
While you can’t remove the JAX icon from your organisation (as JAX is in beta), you can change your users’ permissions to access JAX or opt out. To opt out, open JAX, click on ‘Settings’ then scroll down and select ‘Opt out’.
With the revamp of Xero Product ideas in July, we will no longer accept ideas for the removal of a new feature in Xero. We have provided your feedback to our Product team and will assign this idea to ‘Feedback’.
If you’d like to understand more about JAX and new features, check out the Xero Central article here.

Pricing Plans - Make Xero Projects available in the lower tiers of the new pricing plans
With the new pricing tiers coming in September 2024, Projects is only included in the most expensive tier. I currently pay for it as an add-on on a per user basis. With just two of us, this is cost effective. From September, if I want Projects I will have to pay for the top tier, a 30% increase to retain the features I use! Please make Projects available in lower pricing tiers.
54 votesThank you for your feedback here. A lot of consideration went into the development of Xero's new plans and bundled features in order to align with the needs of different small businesses of all sizes and complexities.
We appreciate differing needs of businesses and while Projects isn't in all our new plans, there are also other options in the Xero App Store that may be of interest.
In transparency, we want to share that we'll no longer be accepting ideas about Xero pricing plans and plan structures and cannot make commitments to ideas of this nature.

Pricing plan - Add one off fee 'Read Only' plan
Have numerous SAGE systems not now in use but it would be useful to get into Xero but do not need a monthly subscription although it would be nice for a one off fee to get a xero (READ ONLY)
set of SAGE DATA in case any historical info required.39 votesInteresting request here, and while your feedback has been shared back with our teams internally we want to be upfront here that we'll no longer be accepting ideas about Xero pricing plans or plan structures. We cannot make commitments to ideas of this nature.

Xero Subscription - Increase Invoice limit in Ignite Plan
Invoicing - increase the number of invoices that can be sent on the Ignite Plan or have another plan between the ignite and grow plans that allows more invoices to be sent and bills to be entered without the current extras in the grow plan. The jump up in cost between these plans is too much.
37 votesHi everyone, we appreciate your feedback.
A lot of consideration went into the development of our plans and bundled features in order to align with the needs of different small businesses of all sizes and complexities.
To be transparent we'll no longer accept ideas about Xero pricing plans or plan structures and cannot make commitments to ideas of this nature. While we will move this idea to Feedback, please be assured comments have all been shared with our team internally.

Subscriptions - Rewards program for loyal customers.
Pretty simple.
I would have thought it is easier to hold onto existing customers, rather then lose them in favour of new customers.
Xero, please look after your current customers.
34 votesWe appreciate the loyalty of our customers and thank you for your continued support and choice in using Xero. While we've made sure to share your feedback with our teams internally we want to be upfront with you here that we'll no longer be accepting ideas for Xero pricing plans and plan structures as we cannot make commitments to ideas of this nature.

Timesheets - New design has limited functionality
I have observed that the timesheets section in the payroll system has been updated. However, this update appears to have introduced several questionable design choices that hinder its functionality and efficiency.
Firstly, the employee list is not sorted alphabetically, which complicates the process of locating specific individuals. Secondly, the system no longer autofill's the default earnings rate, requiring unnecessary manual input. Thirdly, upon clicking the "Approve Timesheet" button, a redundant popup appears asking for confirmation of the approval, despite the action already being explicitly initiated. Lastly, when entering hours worked into a field, the system fails to clear the default…
18 votesHi everyone, while we appreciate your feedback about the updates to Timesheets with quite a few points raised in the one post we are going to move this to feedback. I want to assure you your feedback here has been shared with our product teams - however, if there are specifics that you'd like to see developed in the new timesheets we ask that you create ideas for each that we can then get a sense of the community in and keep you updated through - See the qualities of an idea on Xero Central. 🙏

Pricing Plan - UK Payroll only subscriptions
Xero Payroll only subscriptions!
It would be great to be able to open a payroll only Xero subscription for clients who currently don't need/use Xero for bookkeeping. For example, I have a small client who employees a few people but I only provide year end accounting services to which I use the Ledger subscription to complete the year end accounts. I currently utilise Sage payroll online for the monthly payroll reporting but if I could integrate this into Xero without the need for a main subscription, this would help me keep everything in one place. Even if Payroll could be…

AU Payroll - Access to payroll reports when downgrading subscription
You should allow current subscription holders the ability to create reports on all of their data. At the moment if you stop employee staff and therefore downgrade your subscription, XERO removes all payroll reports. So when you need to print a report you cannot without changing your subscription to include payroll again, even they you don't need to pay employees. It costs you a 30 day subscription to print one report. This is a big fault and something I can do in MYOB. Please fix this madness.
11 votesHi team, with payroll now accessible on all Business plans unless moving to a Partner plan, even if you downgrade plans for a smaller number of employees your access to Payroll reports will continue.
We want to be upfront that we'll no longer be accepting ideas about Xero pricing plans or plan structures on Xero Product Ideas. We cannot make commitments to ideas of this nature. Your feedback here has all been shared with our team.

Pricing Plan - Decrease pricing for for every Incomplete Xero Product Idea
Pricing Plan - Decrease pricing for for every Incomplete Xero Product Idea
Stop just increasing your prices util you deliver better value to your subscribers.7 votesHi everyone, we regularly review our pricing against the value we are providing customers and as part of our commitment to evolve and enhance the Xero platform.
We've been investing in the future and our platform foundations — which includes upgrading our technology across Xero to enable us to build more of the features you are asking us for, faster. And we're also looking at ways we can ensure you’ll have access to AI innovation and mobile upgrades. That means continuing to streamline time-consuming, manual processes – which you can see across AI-powered features like bank reconciliation.
While product ideas are a great platform for our customers to share where they'd like to see change across Xero, this does not determine if or when an idea will be developed.
Votes and comments help uplift where improvements could be most valuable to majority of our customers, and many factors weigh into…

Subscription - Allow downgrade any time (effective at the end of the subscription period)
It is ridiculous that you are forced to set a calendar reminder to come back and downgrade a Xero Subscription in a month's time.
A client may need to increase their subscription purely to account for the crossover period of one staff member leaving and a new one starting and whilst we have no issue paying the additional for the one extra employee, to make it impossible to downgrade for a month after that upgrade is a pathetic cash grab by Xero.
Make it possible to downgrade the file immediately and have it take effect from the future date.7 votesWe appreciate the feedback about downgrading plans through this idea. While we've made sure to share this internally with our teams. To communicate transparently with our customers we'll no longer be accepting ideas about Xero pricing plans and plan structures on Xero Product ideas, as we cannot make commitments to ideas of this nature.

Subscription - Read only data access for cancelled subscriptions
Can the data be access in a read-only mode for cancelled subscriptions?
Often historic data has to be referred to but once a subscription is cancelled, you are no longer able to view any of the data.
To differentiate between active and cancelled subscriptions the company can be marked in red.6 votesWe appreciate your feedback and engaging with us on this, and while this has been shared back with our teams we'd like to be transparent here that we'll no longer be accepting ideas about Xero pricing plans or plan structures. We cannot make commitments to ideas of this nature.

Subscription - Option to issue Xero subscription invoices in EUR
I would like to have my monthly subscription invoices in EUR instead of the standard USD invoices that Xero Global issues. There are a lot of European countries that fall under Xero Global by default but paying these invoices makes us incur unnecessary bank charges due to FX. Please amend and let us decide on the invoicing currency for our subscriptions.
5 votesHi all, we recognise there are many businesses working with Xero across the globe. While this'll be something we continue to consider long term we want to be open here that we'll no longer accept ideas about Xero pricing plans or plan structures here in Xero Product ideas. We cannot make commitments to ideas of this nature. Your insights and feedback here have been shared with our teams.

Reconcile - Link to open matched item
In the Reconcile Accounts view it would be great to be able to have a link to the item you are about to reconcile - like the "more info" on the statement side of the reconcile view. Often payments appear to match but it can be hard to tell without seeing the detail on the invoices or payments that have been registered against the invoice.
5 votesHi everyone, we appreciate the feedback here. Being open this isn't something we have planned in bank reconciliation atm and not getting a lot of interest overtime we will soon remove this idea from product ideas.
While a click away, if a transaction has been matched you'll find you can click Find & match above which'll open the model and you can get a little more detail about the transaction that's been selected, or click on the transaction to open it in a new idea and inspect further.

Pricing Plans - Make Analytics optional on Ignite and Grow plans
I see that in Aus the starter plans in Xero are going up by 7-12% again this year (July 2025).
Part of the sales pitch appears to be access to analytics. Subscribers on this level are mum and dad businesses, maybe an employee or two (as restricted by Xero).
They need a simple system they can use, they don't need or want sophisticated analytics systems. There's nothing in their accounts to analyse. They barely have time or inclination to do a bank rec.
I find it odd that xero restrict basic functions and compliance features like invoicing, bills, payroll and…
4 votesHi community, we appreciate feedback on how we could improve Xero plans to suit your business, and this has been shared with our teams internally. However, we will no longer accept ideas about Xero pricing plans or plan structures. There are many factors that contribute to these decisions, and we cannot make commitments to ideas of this nature.

Batch Payments - Option to lock bank account numbers
I would like to be able to choose to lock the Bank Account field in the Batch Payments screen where you can change/add bank account numbers. Making the user add the bank account number into the contact screen and the redo the batch payment so it draws that information from there - and any changes from here are notified to the Contact Bank Acc Admin.
4 votesHi
It sounds like you're aware that currently a user needs to have the bank account admin user permission to edit the supplier bank account details, either via the batch payment, or direct in the supplier's Contact record.
At the moment, any changes made to the supplier’s details from the batch payment are automatically saved to their Contact record.
Just to confirm, are you looking for users who already have the bank account admin access, to need to edit the Contact first, and for the Contact Bank Account Admin to be notified?
This will help others in community know what they're voting for, and ensure we can get your idea to the right people in product for consideration.
If you'd like to update your idea, you can reply to this update and we'll re-review - See more details on the qualities of a good idea on Xero Central.

Analytics Plus - Optional add-on for CA/US plans
Any appetite/plans to offer Analytics Plus as a per month add-on like projects and expenses?
For my starter clients, it would be nice to offer the 90 days, instead of just the 7/30 days.
4 votesThank you for your interest and sharing with us through this idea. While this will be taken on board and shared with our teams we want to be honest that we'll no longer be accepting ideas about Xero pricing plans or plan structures. We cannot make commitments to ideas of this nature.

Notification - Inform users of product updates and changes
The notifications button in Xero is invaluable, this should also incorporate Xero product updates/features/changes. Had I known of the new Direct link for NAB I would have incorporated it long ago, but the marketing emails get buried.
4 votesWe love the fact that our customers want to stay on the pulse of improvements and key changes that could improve their workflows when using Xero.
While we can't commit to notifying users of all changes that are made in the product, as you may have found as we continue to develop areas of Xero our teams are thinking about those important changes that are key to communicate and share with our customers and you'll find there are different ways we may surface these in your experience depending on the change - This may be through an in app notification, banners or even in some cases in app surveys where we're after your direct feedback to a change.
Other ways you may like to stay updated about what's new is through our site the Long and Short of it where we'll share recent changes as well as upcoming changes and…

Payment Services Stripe Fees Reimbursement - Option to apply variable stripe surcharge
Option to apply variable stripe surcharge automatically to invoices where customers pay by credit card. Currently you can apply a set surcharge within invoice settings (for most credit cards this is 1.5% and we absorb the 20p per transaction fee). However the surcharge for international cards and premium cards is much higher. There should be the capability to charge the customer the actual amount paid in fees based on credit card used.
3 votesHey Hannah, thanks for raising this Idea with us we cant build a better product without customer input! However in this case its not possible to adjust the reimbursement fee at the point of payment option (credit card application) as the reimbursement fee is set in the Xero settings and not at the point when the customer pays. You will need to update the setting in Xero to adjust for a payment with an international or premium cards are expected (Tap to Pay). We will pass this Feedback to our Product team but its not something we are looking at currently.

Subscription - Projects as an add-on
I am looking for an alternative to Quickbooks. As a solo consultant, I thought Xero would be the most appropriate fit for my business. Unfortunately, the fact that I need to subscribe to the top pricing plan at $115 per month in order to be able to bill for time is totally unrealistic. I thought Xero promoted itself as being a good fit for small business???? I don't need to track projects, I just need to be able to bill by the hour and invoice my 2 clients on a monthly basis. I'm sure I wouldn't be alone in these…
