Billable Expenses - Files to copy through to the Sales Invoice
Ability to have a copy of billable expenses to the sales invoice.
Purpose: Save them time from having to send another email of copies of the expenses.

This is hopefully fairly straightforward, but it would save a huge amount of time. Many of my clients require me to upload PDFs of our invoices to their systems, rather than send over email – so I need the images of expenses receipts to attach to invoices and be exported as part of the PDF.

Fully agree with the comment below! Please Xero, add a feature to pull attachments through to sales invoice along with the recharged expense details.
Thank you! -

Ability to attach the expenses receipt (pictures) to an invoice for reimbursement.
Today you can add a line item for each expenses to be invoiced to a client but you can't attach a pdf with all the pictures of the receipts which are left into the Expense app.
Most likely the leftover of an incomplete integration of a new software acquisition but critical to save us time! -

Very frustrating that I need to download the expense copy again and attach it to an invoice each time... I've already added the attachment in Xero when creating the expense, why I need to add again when I rebill this to a client? Not efficient at all.

also, please add the option of using the receipt photo more than once rather than it deleteing out of the Files folder once use in an expense, invoice etc.

get this implemented please, it's ridiculous that it's not possible and utterly frustrating uploading and downloading to attach a copy. it should go on automatically and have the option to delete if not rquired rather than not at all

This is ASTONISHINGLY frustrating.
I take a photo of the invoice for expenses - Xero scans it and analyses it. bBut I cannot actually *use* the photo I have taken.
Instead I take another photo avd then send hours reconciling the image with the invoice line item.
This is just ridiculous

Purchases bought with a credit card and the receipt photo loaded into Xero is put to a project/customer should have the option to bring that receipt over to the invoice to show proof of purchase when invoicing customer. Does that make sense?

My clients would like a summary of the billable expenses they have been charged when they are invoiced, is there a way to do this?
-
Hannes Mostert commented
I can't believe this has been raised in 2015 and 8 years on it is still not a feature.

Dina Naran commented
Obviously, a much need feature, Xero please update us when this is likely to be developed. You are moving all expense users onto a new platform is this feature included in the change?

Attach image of expense to client bill
I am sure this has been suggested before but can't see it.
Using EXPENSE app I can take a photo of an expense, log it, charge to client & invoice.
Lovely: very elegant & simple.*BUT* there is a failing: a really silly & pointless bug thst makes it almost unusable.
Although the system has the image captured, although it generates the invoice and asks if I want o attach files - there is cooption for the Xerro invoice to include the expense image thst was captured within Xero.
Why not?
This is ridiculous.
So I take two photos: one fior the expense>analysis>invoice, then a second as a "dumb" photo that I have to manually upload & attach to the invoice

This is such an obvious basic idea.
I have Xerro expenses avd takes a photo; I have Xero assign thst expense to a customer -- abd yet it has no mechanism to send the image (thst is in Xero) to an invoice (generated in Xero)This is ridiculous.
Instead I export it from Xero to a folder, then I import it from a folder to Xrero.
Just ridiculous. All it needs is a checkbox "attach image?"

This might be the solution:

I totally agree with this request, should be a feature when chosing "Billable expense and say save attachmet against this customer also" or based on the recharge GL code you are using. So, when you recharge your client there are two links e.g."16 billable expenses can be added" and "16 bills to be attached".

Such an obvious thing, and we pay extra for the "New Expenses" and this sort of basic capability along with a search function still cannot be provided? Seriously, there are inadequate resources deployed to new basic functionality yet our subscriptions keep going up in price.

Can we please have this feature? My clients always need copies of receipts and this feels like such a simple fix for a clunky and time consuming process.
Thank you!

With so many NDIS Support Workers setting up their own business, they need to be able to provide receipts for expenses incurred on behalf of their client to oncharge to the service provider. By allowing the receipt to feed through from hubdoc, to billable expense, to then the actual invoice, it will save a lot of time. They won't need to separately attached the receipt to both hubdoc and the sales invoice.

I signed up for the top tier to take photos of receipts and send them through with the invoice to my customers. Instead, I take a photo of a receipt, and it enters it as a line item without attaching the copies of the receipt. I don't know a single business that blindly pays expenses without being provided copies of receipts.
Instead, I take photos of the receipt in the Expenses app, then also have to pay for an additional third-party app so that I can send copies of those receipts to my customers. This process is unnecessary so I hope you'll build the ability to pass receipts to the invoice. In the mean time, I'm searching for a billing solution to replace Xero.
