Thoroughly agree. there used to be a work around for this by exporting an excel file from the supplier card. Xero deleted this very useful report about 2 years ago now. A step backwards.

I am buying currency most weeks. I also hold foreign currencybank accounts to minimise exposure to exchange rate variances. Trying to reconcile supplier accounts converted at random exchange rates makes it near impossible to know what needs to be paid. Dumping data into Excel to track something so fundamental is not the answer. If Xero has programmers who think this is not important then they need to be replaced.

It is very important to be able to send reports in original currency.

The reporting features for Aged Payables and Aged Receivables currently default to the base currency. While the exchange rates are displayed at the bottom of the reports, converting these figures into foreign currencies requires a lot of manual work in Excel to rebuild the reports.

It would be extremely helpful to have a one-click option to view these reports directly in foreign currencies. This would save considerable time, particularly for businesses like ours where most clients and suppliers transact in foreign currencies.

It would also be great if this functionality could extend to the Contacts screen, where the “Amounts owed to you (AR)” and “Bills you need to pay (AP)” currently display only in the base currency.

Having this capability would allow Xero to truly serve as a single source of truth for all financial data — without needing to export, manipulate, or recreate reports outside the platform.

There is no indication of the original transaction currency per row, reducing transparency and accuracy for businesses dealing in multiple currencies.

Purpose:

1. Better Decision-Making
Understanding ageing in both base and original currencies helps businesses evaluate true exposure and prioritize collections/payments more accurately.

2. Audit and Compliance:
For audit trails and compliance, showing both currencies makes it easier to justify reported amounts and FX differences.

I find that really surprising and disappointing as it makes your current set of reports completely unusable as a company billing in multiple currencies I need to be able to report on my aged debtors in the original currencies with no unrealised gains or losses from currency exchanges, if this is the case and there is no work arounds for this Xero is not fit for purpose as a multi currency accountancy software package. Can you advise is there even any addons that can be used to achieve this. As I can see from your product ideas page that this has been raised as a product idea multiple times since 2022 so 3 years on and there is no solution to this problem meaning you are using these product ideas to make it seem like you are working a solution when in reality yous are not. Do yous have a future road. map or anything showing when yous might consider these product ideas?

Very impotrant to be able to send reports in original currency. It will only confuse the customer if we invoice in one currency and then chase in another.

Extremely important to have this to be truly multi currency. ANd require this for Aged Receivables as well. There are multiple threads for this feature and Xero need to merge them to get a true picture of the demand for this.

It is essential for a company with the base currency of GBP (as UK Based Compoany) but invoicing mostly in USD to be able to produce reports such as AR and AP, and Trial Balance in USD, or any other currency. Our stautory accounts are also filed in USD, therefore we need the ability to produce these reports in USD. Please implement this urgently

Welcome to the club - Xero multicurrency system is not really a true multi currency system. Xero are not interested in doing anything about it. Generally Xero close down the threads on this type of request and then new ones start up. That way they keep the votes down and not do anything about the problem.

I have accounts receivable in different currencies. In the AR aging report, is it not possible to display them in their original currencies instead of converting everything to the home currency. This is very important when auditing the financial account. Auditor will require to test the currency exchange for AP and AR.

We need more flexibility operating with different currencies.

Cannot believe we are still waiting for this when we pay for Xero foreign currency and the FC aspect is very poor

This is vital for our business reporting. We have bank accounts in multiple currencies so need to match these for payables and receivables not the NZD equivalent.

This idea has been proposed so many years, I'm surprised Xero continue to ignore it.
For those users that are new to Xero - there used to be a report within the Customer / Supplier that allowed you to export their data in original currency - but Xero got rid of that a year or so ago.
How xero get away with calling the program 'multicurrency' without these reports, or the ability to raise fx journals - I don't know.
Xero truly is a program for hairdressers and tradesmen, per their TV ads. They have really dumbed down their product over the past few years.

Aged Receivables / Payables Detail Report - once exported to Excel, can the FX columns just come out at the start of the columns before <1 month or have one currency column to note which currency the invoice is?

Agree, seeing the invoice's true currency on a download would be helpful for cash planning
